(Disclaimer: That is all except those that members have specifically asked me not to include their'sof course)
My daughter had her 15mo. check up today and I showed the Dr. a little bulge she has in her tummy a couple inches above her belly button- the Dr. said it is a Peri-something hernia and she will have to have it surgically corrected. Surgical- like they have to cut my baby open- what- wait a minute, that's the only way, it won't close on it's own. She says no but it is not an emaergency and I am given a referal to the pediatric surgeon. We won't see him until next friday. I say should we be concerned, we are leaving for disney in about 2 weeks. She says just make sure you see the surgeon before you go. I am hoping he says it will close on it's own, but not very optimistic that this will be the outcome. My poor little girl I just don't know how to prepare for this, no one I have talked to has even heard of this before so I thought I would bring it to you- Have you heard of this type of hernia?? Any advice, tips, experience will be welcomed. I have been so bummed all evening and I still have so much left to do before we leave(both at work and home), but this just took the wind out of my sails. And I'm going to worry for the next 10 days until we see the surgeon. I know it I might be over reacting a little, but they are talking about putting my baby to sleep and cutting her open to fix her and it is freaking me out. Thank you all for your time. I'll let you all know what happens.
Thanks! As soon as I saw that fabric, I thought it had a Moroccan style and Jasmine came to mind! It's not a friendly fabric, but it looks pretty! Those pictures aren't even good, wait til I get some with the good camera!
Donno if anyone remember my Halloween skirts that I made a while back, but I FINALLY finished the shirts (all 4 of them). Here are some photos we took this past weekend. I never did get around to the bows or the braclets.

I have heard of alot of people gettting sick post tripHas anyone tried the airbourne immune system boosting stuff. I bought some for our trip- they don't have it for kids under 4. So I'll just have to keep the germ sanitzer on hand for the kids and wash their hands when we can.
I know what you mean. The police were very aloof about a 50 year old man from Phila, known drug dealer, known sex offender, taking a 20 year old girl who grew up in Amish country in the middle of a cornfield in PA to North Phila, and leaving her there without any money, any clothing (it was Nov at the time) and any contacts of any sort. I remember myself at that age, and at times I thought I was so grown up, but inside I was still a child whenever anything bad happened. How awful an ordeal for your sister. I hope she received extensive counseling. I know DD has flashbacks at times and just being near any of the places she had been will trigger something in her. As a mom you just wish that you could have taken their place so that nothing bad had ever happened. Bless your heart for sharing this story.Messed up the quote thing...oops
TJ:
That had to be so scary! How old was your sister?
She was 24. Her exboyfriend (extremely abusive- steroid induced no necked...) hid in her trunk the morning she was on her way to an injunction hearing against him and once she was on the way he crawled through the backseat (her care could access the trunk that way) and forced her into the passenger side- which had a busted door handle (he broke!) and the window mechanics only worked from the driver side so she was basically trapped.
Her advocate called from the courthouse wanting to know where she was (way after the trial should have been done w/) and said she never showed up. We said "he's got to have her, call the cops!!!" but the cops thought we were over reacting. They said that lots of abused girls change their minds and don't show for the hearing and she was just hiding out b/c she was too embarrassed to tell us. We knew better. He had held her against her will (oddly enough on the way home from MNSSHP that year) in a hotel room for 2 days and beat her from head to toe- with their 2 yo son in the room. He told her several times he was taking her home only to turn around and go the other way again. He kept turning her cell phone off but she would find a way to turn it back on again until finally he let her take a call from a girlfriend. She convinced him that by not answering her phone her friend would think something was up. Her girlfriend stayed on the phone w/ me and I was on the cell phone w/ my mom who was on her cell phone w/ the cops. We had 4 trucks on the road plus the cops trying to find them eventually they were able to triangulate her cell service. Her friend was amazing, especially for a 24 yo. She just asked Rae yes or no questions so Rob wouldn't think she was telling her anything. Like "are you still in hernando county?" "are you in your car or Rob's car" stuff that would help us get good info to the cops. Finally they were able to triangulate her cell phone and LUCKILY her car broke down and they were able to catch him. He is still in jail. But got far less time than he deserved!!!
When you say your sister was kidnapped people are shocked, then you say she was 24 and they are unimpressed, like oh, she wasn't "really" kidnapped. But she was REALLY kidnapped. it wasn't like she went to meet him somewhere and was just being held against her will. And yes it was scary!!!

Any chance he will change his mind?I feel for you!
Awww Thanks! Someone may as well enjoy my Nemo Fabric. Knowing that you will benefit from it puts me in a better mood.
OT-Last weekend we went camping at Yogi Bear with our neighbors and our kids, DD6, DS5, DS 15mo. It was their first time ever camping and they were having a ball they wanted to do all of the activities, they were all especially excited to meet Yogi Bear. I knew the older kids were excited but to see him but my DS 15mo face lite up and he tried to give Yogi a high 5 and wanted hugs...It just made me really sad about not going to WDW this December. The last time we were there my DD loved it but my DS(3at the time) HATED ALL of the characters, so to see him finally be fine with a dingy Yogi when we could meet the Mouse...AGGHHH It just makes me mad that we can't go because I know all of the kids would really love it this time around!!! If we get to go next year my youngest will probably hate it... that is my luck! Sorry I just had to vent a little bit about my darn DH and the WDW veto!!!!

Unfortunately no, money is pretty tight right now, not much of a comission check and a few bills popped up so not much money left over. Actually I am looking for a job right now to help take some of the money stress off of him! As much as I really don't want to have to leave my kids during the day. But I don't really know what else to do to make money. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I hope to go next year if we start planning and saving now then hopefully it will happen!!!!
BTW - Please ignore the pile of stabilizer scraps swept into the corner. LOL I have a bad habit of just tossing thread, fabric trimmings, etc. to the floor as I work since I always end up missing a trash can when I've used one in the past.
Lisa- check TJ's links, if there are e-coupons or codes sometimes they're there.
Piperpizazz...I was thinking the same thing, knit the band in ribbing BUT NO I don't crochet!!! and I had a feeling that is what you were going to tell me to do!! I will have to have my mil do it. Crap! I am knitting the cutest cardigan sweater for Lily, though I am not very good at ripping back, you know I throw things away instead, so I figure I've gotta muster the patience to do it now!!
MY2ANGELS: I'd be happy to do it. I'll look into the flower and find a cute beanie pattern and get back w/ you!!
You can totally do it knitted, just easier to crochet. I think that flower would look adorable, and you don't have to felt it if you don't want (though it is super cute!) Here are another that might work:Thanks for all of the well wishes for my sister. I think we are going on her 3rd anniversary this december. She is doing well.
PIPER look here :http://www.knitty.com/issuespring05/PATTpetals.html
this felted flower (#4) might work

What a gorgeous bunch of girls!! You got some great pictures, too! How did you get them all to look at the camera at the same time?! I love the outfits, you did a great job!
And if it weren't for my neighbor's pool, we wouldn't have Tessa.I don't know if there is a season, but I know if it weren't for Tequilla, I would not have my oldest DS!!![]()
