I was sewing my wedding dress, and had to trim some threads. So, I was sitting on the couch with those little but very very pointy kind of scissors. I got up to put the dress away, and then went to sit down on the part of the couch that is the crack of the cushions (because that's the kind of NICE person I am, I took the rotten cushion crack part of the couch so no one else had to!). Well, no sooner had I plopped myself down than I LEAPED right back up! Oh my gosh, it really really hurt! I ran upstairs to the bathroom (we lived in a tri-level so there were only 7 steps) and tried to look in the mirror to see what the heck had happened! It was in the cheek part of my bum, in case you were wondering! It was Heather I believe who found the scissors in the crack of the couch. This was about a month before my wedding by the way. So, my Mom takes me to the doctor, who LAUGHED while she was stitching me up! ACTUALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD as I lay there with my butt exposed to the world while she stitched it up! She said, "I don't have to be very careful, because really, who is going to see this?" To which my Mom (hmm, what was my Mom doing in there with me?) replied, "Well, she is getting married in a few weeks, so someone WILL be seeing it." Which only made the doctor laugh more. (jerky doctor)
So, there you go, the story of the scar on my butt. I also have a Zorro shaped scar on my leg from the time I ran into a tractor. But, that is another story.
Somebody is going to owe me a keyboard, that is the second time today I spit my diet coke out on it from laughing!

This is what I've been working on... PLEASE give me some advice for some pants!!!!!!! This is an outfit for her first birthday!
And I know Im not suppose to post pics of my DDs but she hid her face in this pic so I suppose its okay!! Shhhh dont tell daddy!
SORRY this pic is sideways, but apparently my computer likes it that way and I cant fix it!
Any advice would be great! TIA
I think a cute little pair of pants with a ruffle on the bottom would be great. I'm about to purchase the Rosy Gauchos pattern on YCMT and I think they would look great with this dress (I think there are lots of similar patterns to this from McCalls, Simplicity, etc.). Fantastic job! The YCMT patterns are expensive but I figure if I use them a couple of times for each of my girls it helps keep the cost down. As far as saving any money

I figure learning to sew has cost me a fortune! I broke my Mom's 15+ year old Singer and bought the new Brother one from Costco, the patterns, fabric obsession/addiction I've developed, thread, ric rac, etc. and I definitely think that I could buy clothes for cheaper! Oh well, my DD's look so cute and I love the fact that DD2 tells people I made it for her (even if it's something I bought, she doesn't get that Mom didn't make everything!). The looks on their faces when they get to twirl in a skirt make it all worth it.
