Ok, I just KNOW you are all dying to see what I created last night :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Right? Ok, so you aren't, but I'm going to show you anyways!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have been thinking up this outfit since June, and finally got around to making it! I didn't have a pattern, so I'm pretty proud of myself! I guess it's an original Teresa Creation! OOOOHHHHH!!!

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm killing time waiting for my pictures to upload to Photobucket. Why is it so slow today??

While I'm waiting, I'll comment on an outfit that I seem to have missed.

I love the preschool dress! It is absolutely adorable! I love the little bus!

Ok, photobucket is 50% done...... I have DSL, this shouldn't take so long....

Did I mention??? I SHIRRED!!! YEP, I SURE did!!! I want to add one more row of shirring to the bottom of the top, I don't like the way it kind of sticks out funny, and I think another row would help fix that.
I made the top too short too begin with, so I had to add ruffle to it to make it fit right. But, I really like the way the ruffle looks, now that I've added it. I would have liked it better if I had made the top longer, THEN added a ruffle, but this will work for now.

75% done, GEESH! Maybe I should do a load of laundry while I wait! :laundy:

I almost forgot, I also want to add some purple bows to the gathered parts of the skirt. But, I didn't have any purple ribbon, so I need to go get some.

OOOH, I think it's done!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Here we go....

Thanks for looking!!!

I had Arminda try this on, and it fits her too! Gotta love shirring!

Very cute....I can't wait to try something w/my princess toile. I'm really fond of the skirt!!

Thank you. It is more a bad day for my friend than it is for me to be honest. She emailed me this morning to let me know her dh died.

I am still trying to figure out how to tell my youngest, because she miss him.

If you want some tips the Hospice website has some really good info on talking to children about Death and Dying. I've had to reference it alot in the past year and I've found it to be very helpful.

I did this one for DD in Spring. I really like to do some of the characters that aren't the ones people typically think of for Disney.

Amazing. That's all I can say!!!!

We have Fancy Nancy and Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy. DD got them for her (first) birthday, but they were really for Mommy ;)

Was this where all the little girls were there dressed fancy and she showed ideas for having a Fancy Nancy party? I saved all of that the first time it was on and we are so having one when DD is older.

We have these books too! I love them because they are glittery and my NAME IS NANCY!:woohoo: My dd loves to read them.

Okay, time to share once again. Don't laugh at my applique, I'm not nearly as talented as most of you ladies (and gentleman) on this board. I do try however, and my girls like it, so I guess thats all that counts (at least thats what I keep trying to tell myeslf). Sorry there is so many photos, but remember that I have twins. The 2 back to school sets are a lil different so I posted both. I only posted one of my twirl skirts for Halloween, however I had to make 2 for my twins. I'm still working on the matching shirts for Halloween, but will post with the twins in the entire outfit when I get the shirts done. I will also post ONE photo of the twins together in their BTS outfits on Sept 5th when they goto school for the 1st day. Thanks, enjoy!

I've decided I am going to paint at least one shirt for both of my kids before we leave for Florida...we haven't booked yet...but we'll be there for MNSSHP for sure...

Here is the first step of a Tink shirt for my daughter...

sorry...can't post links yet :( I'll post them when I can

next step name and some gold on Tink...otherwise the shirt's going to end up a hidden Tink shirt...lol

I can't decide between a pirate or a Mickey shirt for my boy...I may have to do both

then I'll need to do a Minnie for my daughter as well

I think I'm going to do a Fairy Godmother one for myself...I just ruined a shirt in the wash yesterday :)

I used this particular shirt for my daughter because it was ruined as well...a part of Tink's arm is a nasty pen stain that wouldn't come out with anything

I'll post the final product tomorrow :)

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas everyone...I love this board!!

Yup, I was going to say the same thing. I got that e-mail a few years ago and checked it out on snopes.com.

I love to check snopes when I get email like that. I don't want to come across as a "know it all" but I do usually email a link to the person who sent me the Urban Legend. Since most of the ones circulating scare or anger people, I like to allay concerns if I can that the fear/worry isn't necessary.

Gotta Twirl!!

I had Arminda try this on, and it fits her too! Gotta love shirring!

Great job! Love the layered skirt and the shirring insert.

All it needs is a zipper. That will be for tomorrow.

Please excuse DD hair. She just rode 30 minutes with DH in his convertible Jeep! The last photo is my fav because you can see the sleeves and my DD said No more pictures Mommy!

hanren001.jpg

Wow it is beautiful! Great Job! Is she going to wear it for halloween too? I love the sleeves. Or she is going to be Meghra?

Adorable! I love the skirt, actually its all great.
Good job!

Ok, I did it I bought a pattern and I intend to use it! :scared1: I am a wee bit scared, but it will be ok. ;)
I also picked up a small amount of a pink animal print to applique something for DD for AK. Once I got it home I started to wonder if it was Cheatah Girls fabric? I was with the quilting? Doesn't matter, just wondering.
I also found some red fabric with white polka dots on the 50% off table. Not THE Minnie fabric, but it works for me.
But its unlikely I will do anything with that stuff today, my Mom just called and there is some major family drama going on. So, I am going to have a cookie and relax.
Have a good day guys.

You outfits and the appliques are AMAZING!! I especially love the crayon border ruffle - SO darn cute!

The skirt absolutely has full-on horizontal potential. Did you use tapered or rectangular strips? If they are tapered how much difference between the top and bottom of the strip?

Here's the result of my first twirl skirt attempt. I bought this basic tank to go with it - but now I'm not sure if I like it or not. What do you all think? What kind of top?

Very pretty! I don't have a clue what I'm going to do with my Princess toile, but I've got some saved for something!

OMG, that's fantabulous!!! I love Mulan!

Twins+2more - Terrific job on all of your outfits!

Now, here's my latest applique attempts. I had to take pics outside on the deck b/c my camera stinks and I didn't want to wait til dh got home with the good one!

A little info about this outfit: dd6 does not like to match dd8, so they have the same pillowcase top with the exception that dd8's is trimmed in red and dd6's is trimmed in pink. I was going to do an Ariel applique like heather (hkite) did, but when I put it on the pants, the pink trim didn't look right. That's when I decided to applique a cutout from the shirt fabric. I think it matches much better! Now, what to do with the other Ariel applique that I have cut out and ready to go?! I guess a tshirt or something, we'll see! I'll just try to remember to put it on the front of the shirt and not the back, like some crazy person might do!!! :rotfl: Just kidding, heather, you know I love ya!

These capris are for dd6, I need to finish the Flounder applique on the back before I stitch up that right leg. I'm wondering about the Flounder, I drew the lines in fabric pen, but not sure how to do the inside. Any ideas, Lisa, Heather, anyone? I thought I'd embroider the blue stripes, eyes, and mouth. Does that sound doable?

And here are dd2's Donald overalls again, with the finished back!

th_Lydia004.jpg

Thanks for looking!!!

HA! Shirley!!!

Great Twirl Factor!!!! I love the gathered top skirt! Bows will be
purrrrrfect! Love that little red-headed girl! She is a beauty! She JUST needs some kind of crown or tiara or way-big bow.

I think you did a great job. You DESIGNED this yourself? Really? WOW!!!!

Mia-tai say, the Brother6000 does effortless button holes! I'm going to hand sew the buttons though. I only have one ore needle and I'm afraid I'll break it if I attempt to machine sew the buttons.

twins+2 - great job! your twins will look great!

revrob - I love the tank with the twirl skirt - and I love the skirt - blue and green are my two favorite colors.

tnmom - you're doing so good!
Since school starts for me on Monday and I have less than 30 days left, I'm going to cheat and do "fake" applique with iron on interfacing and fabric paint.
then I'll try applique again when I get back.

Very cute outfits! I think your decision to use the applique from the fabric was a wise choice. I'm sure your pieced applique looked great but it is sometimes hard to get colors to work together. I'm trying to get past my need for exact color matches but it's hard... ;)

BTW - I've come close to fusing an applique to the wrong side of a tee. It's just the kind of mistake I could too easily see myself doing. :rolleyes1

I'm wondering about the Flounder, I drew the lines in fabric pen, but not sure how to do the inside. Any ideas, Lisa, Heather, anyone? I thought I'd embroider the blue stripes, eyes, and mouth. Does that sound doable?

th_abbysariel3.jpg

I think that would work. I'd probably have used fabric for the stripes and white part of the eyes just because it's quicker for me. LOL I try to hand embroider only when I can't get the details to my satisfaction on the sewing machine.

I like that top with it, awesome job on your first attempt!!!!!

It's not too late to add fabric for the stripes is it? Can't I just put it on top of the yellow? I was just afraid of it being so small and having it fray on me while trying to stitch it down.

Hi guys! I just got back from Nashville and "HOLY COW," I've been gone 4 days and there are 40 pages of posts! To make it simple, on myself of course, I would just like to commend every one on their latest creations -- you all continue to inspire me!

I am wondering where the striped ruffle fabric came from. I really love this outfit and would like to make something similar. Since my biggest issue is always coordinating fabrics I would love to know where the stripe fabric came from. I know I can get the Michael Miller fabric at various places.

Thanks!!!

The striped fabric is from Michael Miller's Dick and Jane line also. Cha Cha stripe is the name of the striped fabric. I loved it too -- it was the perfect thing to complement this outfit IMHO.
