Maybe they would look like these?
Okay, I thought I would "spice" up a set I am currently making and got all excited painting these shoes. I just was in the mood to be a little "non traditinal" LOL!

I love those...are they leather or canvas...and how did you get them so shiny....I bet you have special magic paint....that must be it...:rotfl:

Hhehehehehe that's such a hoot! Oh and my dad always used to joke around at the way Mervyn's had their models pose! That picture is a classic!
I read your post to Corey and he said, "That's why Mervyn's closed." He has a very dry sense of humor sometimes! But, trust me, it was funny!
OK, not Disney but this is the tee I made for DD to wear on her first day of kindergarten. I thought it might help the teacher learn her name more quickly. ;) I'm making a pleated skirt to go with it using the bubble print for the main part of the skirt and then will insert different colored dot prints in the pleats.

BTW - The photo was taken just after her second upper front tooth came out. Unfortunately, I think the tooth fairy is short of cash tonight so may miss our house. :rolleyes1

See, my mom taught us manners and it's hard for me to be mean even in retaliation. Of course it's not always easy but I try to remember that she is family... at least until my nephew wises up. :lmao:
I love the shirt! That is such a cute idea!!! If I had tried that with Arminda, I'm afraid the letters would have had to go all the way around her!

Lydia might work, but hopefully we get Arminda's Kindergarten teacher, who allready knows Lydia.

I love the sweet toothless grin too!!!!

 for you. It sounds like you've had a lot going on! I hope your son gets healed up soon!

My Mom has had my sewing machine for about a week. I have cut a ton of stuff out. I have six months to work so I have a pretty elaborate plan. (Although three months is my busy work season.)

But . . . . last night my sewing dreams turned into nightmares. I had nightmares all night about not finishing in time. They were the type of dreams that make you upset when you wake up!

For some reason I was most upset about the Crystal Palace!
I have nightmares like that too!

I was like 10 pages behind. My grandma died-she was a love. Everyone's designs are beautiful!
About the adoption comment-Dh and I adopted our daughter. She's 13 now. We had 2 sons and decided we wanted a daughter. A couple of weeks after we had our daughter,I was rocking her and thinking that my C-section wasn't bothering me!!!! It doesn't matter how anyone has their children. Loving them is the important thing. Here's her picture from the 7th grade graduation party. She's in the middle.

I am sooo sorry about your grandma.

Your daughter is gorgeous! She looks like one of my neices, when I first looked at the picture, for a second I thought, "Why is someone posting a picture of Stephanie?" I need another cup of coffee, I think!

This is my version of the Mickey head bracelet... I love how it came out. This is my first bracelet that I actually used wire and crimp beads, and real clasps..I have always made them out of elastic...

This is a close up..I had a hard time wraping the wire of the pins that hold the Mickey heads on....

Great job Elisa, this is adorable!

It's sooo cute...I haven't shown the picture to my dd's because they will want it ASAP!!

You dd will be walking along...minding her own business...and the police will tackle her...."sorry madame...we suspect you have something hidden in your sleeves....Hmmm...what's this...one pork chop, a bottle of diet cherry pepsi, a Lime green mickey head button, and hmm...scratching head...100 plastic walmart bags

You are FUNNY today Elisa!!!

Those are too cute! I have been wanting to paint some shoes, what is the best way to do it? Do you just use regular acrylic paint or something special? TIA

stephres - the faces applique is adorable!!! And so is your daughter! The tree of life turned out great! Love the animals!

bsusanmb - that's awful about your dear daughter - my partner and I are about to become foster parents. I'm not too worried about the effect of outsiders on us, but I definitely do not need other people's crazy ideas adding more hurt to our future already hurt children.

But I had a brainstorm today!
Even if we get older kids who don't want custom creations, I could steal Utah's idea and make a special blanket/quilt for each of them that they can take with them.

I'm so excited about it!

I hate my biological clock. It's like when I hit 30, it went into overdrive.

teresajoy - I'm confused about the pic of your son. How did they fit him when he was 1 and still at 14?
Can y'all defy the laws of physics? :confused3

Poor corey! give your mom and your aunt heck for torturing you!

msMkenna - We're in our foster parenting classes right now!
thank you for the link!

zandra - cute! wear it everywhere!

clutter - great job!

castle - You HAVE to make one of those spongebob outfits for Sponge Misty!!!!
The raggedy ann is too cute - make that one for me. ;)

lisazoe - I totally agree with you - lying down is "EASY" compared to what other parents have to go through.

skw - your projects are adorable!

fluffer - what a blessing! two at once!

Eeyore's t - I like your new sig pic. Is that from last year's trip?

luv2go - I always remember the horizon is the same as horizontal to keep them straight
But I don't know about your twirl skirt question.

utah - oh my goodness! I love it all, but Norah's alice costume is TOOO DIE FOR! It's soooo precious! I don't know about choo choo soul -
what should we make?
heh.
we need to get tickets at the same time as mommyp so all the rugrats can see it together.
if that's ok.

jennwdw  for your past experiences.
A pregnancy/parenthood manners book is a great idea!

forthelovof pooh - eek on the hanna montana tickets! I was so glad to see that High school musical on ice is reasonable - we got three tickets for a total of 72 bucks.
still pricey, but better than I was expecting.

Does anyone else get worn out just keeping up with this thread?
Whew.
I'm tired now!

ollie - the shoes are cute!

livndisney

ries - for your loss

Here's the latest princess nightgown I made. I've used this pattern so many times it's not funny. This is may favorite variation though.

Here's a Minnie peasant top I made DD3.

2007_08220054.jpg

She's loves it, and I wish I had gotten more of the Minnie dots. I'm planning to add a ruffle to some capris to go with it, but I haven't gotten to them yet. Apparently, I need to be working on 60 things at once or I'm not happy. I'm planning a Cinderella birthday party in about 2 weeks & I'm still trying to get the Cinderella dress to be poofy enough. Any tips on making really poofy petticoats?

My stance on the subject has always been "they don't come if you don't believe." This applies to Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. Then I usually say that I, for one, perfer to believe in the magic- which also applies to Disney and how they do things. To this day I have never told my mom I don't believe in Santa and guess what? I get a stocking from Santa every year

It was the same way in my house growing up. I am older than my sis by almost 3 years and even when kids at school were saying there was no santa, I didn't want to believe them. My sis stopped believing long before I did. I think I was almost in Jr High before I really started to think that Santa was made up. But just like you we still get stockings at mom and dad's house! :santa: I think it is something that all kids should get to enjoy and believe in, there are not many magical things in our lives and they should get to believe in the magic as long as possible!!! Of course the neighbor kids are already trying to take that away from my kids 5 & 6 and my poor DS 5 hasn't even got to lose a tooth yet!!!!:headache: I hope the older kids can keep thier mouths shut when my DS1 starts to lose teeth!

These are leather. I suppose painting on canvas would have a better "hold" on the paint. I used a special spray paint for the yellow that is designed to grip rubber and plastic. Because of the smooth leather surface it has more of a shine to it. I really wanted just a satin finish, but the special spray paint only came in a gloss. The dots are done in acrylic, and then I sprayed the shoes with a clear spray to set everything. I felt like the ric rac really made these "pop". I love to paint!, I have created painted clothing in the past, but sewing is what I currently do most for others.;)

Here is some of my other work I have done in the past.

My oldest daughter just turned 7 and has yet to have a loose tooth. Now that she went to 2nd grade it seems that it started to bother her. She is also a thumb sucker.:sad2: So we are trying to use that to get her to stop sucking her thumb. I know that is bad for us to use that but if it works! I am also hoping that it should definitely be about time to lose them so the timing would be great. The way kids are these days she won't even believe in the tooth fairy by the time she gets to lose her first tooth.:sad1:

DD8 & DD6 are going to see HSM on Ice with their Brownie troop in September. They've asked for a custom to wear and I don't know what to do. I don't want to do a cheerleader outfit, they don't care for those. I have school and Ariel on the brain so I need some help ...

TIA for any ideas you have!

The website we don't mention, had a HSM boutique"spinny" skirt. I think you could find it searching for High School Musical boutique.

That's what I told Zoe. One of her neighborhood friends, a boy about 8, told her his parents are the Tooth Fairy. I told her that was only because he'd stopped believing in the REAL Tooth Fairy. :)

Sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. Your DD is beautiful!

UtahMom, you and I will be at Disney a couple of days at the beginning of your trip at the same time. We're just there for a long weekend, Sept 20-23... perhaps we will spot each other with little ones in customs.

I love the Alice dress it's gorgeous!

We are there the Sept 14-23 - ooohhh - we should all be able to recognize each others kids - LOL - if we run into each other!

This isn't super fancy - but DD has a HSM T-shirt and I am making some embellished ribbon capris to match.
Also, I am working on a twirly skirt with musical notes all over it - I am making a Hannah Montana outfit , but was thinking the other day that it would also work for HSM. I think I will make two tops that match the skirt - one Hannah and one HSM.
