Not to toot my own horn but I am so glad that I came up with Voldermort! Everytime I read it in someone's post -- I giggle, it is too funny!

I love the Targamort too!!!

Girls...and TOM:lmao:

There is a really different Mary Poppins auction on Voldemort. Search boutique custom Spoonful of Sugar. Hope it's okay to write that.

It's painted, so I'm not sure about that, but I like the idea of a Mary Poppins outfit! Opinions please!

I know there is a Mary Poppin printed fabric (sheets?). I've seen other sets with exactly the same panels. One I saw was from a well known seller in StudioE and I think the Voldemort listing was CASEd from that sweet seller (the Mary Poppins set is on her website). Both have exactly the same placement of elements, use a small red dot for the ruffles and have blue as an accent fabric. :sad2:

I saw this last night ... I have to keep reciting "I am not bidding. . . I am not bidding."

Here is my Mickey outfit. I put it on him to take the picture and I just about cried. It is HUGE. I have to put a shirt under it so it doesn't fall off. I don't understand the one in the cotton barely fits him and I cut it from the same pattern. :confused3

I am not sure if I am going to have him wear it now. It almost looks like a dress. :sad1:

Here are some tie dye ones I did. One for Ds and one for our friends little girl. (We all had matching last year but, the babies obviously outgrew theirs.)

I got this pic from the "Voldemort" auction site..there is some there but it is >$20 for a yard and a half I think...I didn't want to spend that much...our closest non-Walmart fabric stores are an hour away....hankcock one direction and Joann's another so I have to chose where to look....

does anyone know the official name of this fabric so I could call the stores to see if it is there or will they be able to help me if I just describe it....I can't seem to find it online either, but maybe I am not searching correctly....

That fabric is at JoAnns...I was just there, again. ;)

I didn't get the name though....sorry!

I totally "get " all of the "tongue in cheek" references to sweet et al! Well immitation is the sincerest form of flattery right? Oh that AND 300 dollars cheaper:love:

UUMMMM Castle...where are the promised pictures? Here is a  for your rough morning! Remember you ae going to see Playhouse Disney Live (and somwhere else too I thinK:goodvibes )

I know the thought of January right around the corner :thumbsup2 will help me at 3 am tonight when I question my career choice, and tuition, and the car,:headache: and the house, :scared1: and three kids pirate: pirate: princess: and everything else forcing me to work at night!

I've seen that set!

Just an FYI....I've had a "run-in" with that seller and she's not so "sweet". :sad2:

i kinda like it big....maybe some velcro strips on the top to hold it too the t shirt so it doesn't slide off and you are good to go:banana:

I wore this shirt for Laila's Minnie party with a black tank underneath, and then a white skirt and red white polkadot flip flops....my husband thought I was nuts but all the aprty goers thought it was great! It does have that "air" of a maternity top though- so be sure everyone is clear on whether you "are" or "arent"...all it takes is one outfit in this town to get tongues a waggin'!!!

anyone know where I can get some of this? thanks so much...lime green is my daughters new favorite color (11yrs old) may be the only way I will get her to wear something custom if I use some of this fabric....

I just got mine a few days ago at my local JoAnn's...and it was 30% off. They had lots of cute Disney flanel too. Good luck.

I think the current seller would have done better to change some things and put her own "spin" on the idea. :) It's a cute set and looks like it's well made, though. I can't imagine making the set for the price she's listed it, either. :scared1: Of course it's a great price for the person who gets it.

thanks...I called my "local store" and they are holding me 2 yds.....I need probably 1/2 yard, but I couldn't bring myself to say that on the phone so now I have extra for later.....I said I wouldn't do this, but I did...better too much than too little:woohoo:

one week....woohooooooooooooooo:banana:

Love all your outfits!!

could you tell me what you used and how you did the bracelet? How'd you attach the mickey heads. I so want a bangley bracelet!!
thanks[/QUOTE]

I got the Mickey buttons in the scrapbooking section at AC Moore and I took the adhesive and thread off. I used 2 inch head pins and strung a crystal (the outer ones are Swarovski for a little extra sparkle :) and the inner ones are cheaper ones). So I strung crystal, button, crystal and then wire wrapped them so I could string them like beads. I used 8mm cat's eye beads in colors that matched the buttons I wanted to use...you could use any fun combo you want. The extra crystal between the button and bracelet makes the buttons stick out a bit more like on a charm bracelet. You could skip that one if you wanted the buttons to sit more flush with the beads. Let me know if you have any more questions...happy to help.

I do mine as a wedge. I like to have the skirt really full and if I did a rectangle the fabric would add more bulk at the waist then I like. I really like to develop patterns that have as little waste as possible. Here's a quick sketch of what the layout would look like.

Dear LisaZoe,
I know you have had a bunch of questions about this and I hate to bug you, but was wondering if you have a template for the wedge or some magical mathematical formula that you use based on your daughter's size. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
Kay

Sorry, I don't have anything like a pattern. It's really not an exact thing since the fit is intended to be very full so I mostly worry about getting the length right. :) The size of each panel depends on how many I'm going to include. I usually make the top width so with all panels sewn together, the circumference is about 1 1/2 times bigger than the waist measurement.

Thanks Lisa...that helps me. Do you just finish the bottom with a ruffle and the waist with elastic or is there anything else specific that goes into it?
Thanks!

I add a ruffle at the bottom and use elastic at the waist. Beyond that, there are different ways to embellish the skirt, i.e. applique, ruffles, etc.

This turned out super cute!! If you aren't happy with it, is there any way that you can take the side pockets off and take the sides in some and then reattach the pockets? It doesn't look bad but just a thought.

Thanks to everyone that has "entered" for a chance to receive the bows!

So far I have received 25 "entries". WOW! I thought maybe 2 or 3 might be interested!

You still have time to PM me.

I am truly amazed at the kind words that I have just read in my PM's! You all are making me blush!

I will try to answer individual questions that I have received after this "drawing". I don't want anyone to get too excited with a received PM from me until I actually draw the name!:rotfl:
