Wonderful Outfit!:cheer2:

OT - but so cute!!
DD's birthday is coming up and she's having a princess party. (Go figure!!) I wanted special invites and this is what I found!!

This is the picture she used for reference. She even got her freckle on her left cheek!!

OMG! How cute that is. The painting is identical to the picture! Whoever did your invites, she is good. How much did it cost for her to do that? If asking that is a no, no then pm me. I am just curious.

I thought I would share how I have organized my art room. I am so glad I got all my sewing organized. I do not know why I never did before!

Wow, I am so envious of your work area! I love the idea of the mini-bolts now that I see them in use. Someday I hope to get my small work areas (scattered around the house) better organized. Your photos are definitely making me ready to get serious about it. :thumbsup2

aimeeg -
WOW! I am once again impressed by your organizational abilities.
Are those services available for hire ;)

That is funny! You have not seen the rest of my house! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It is a work in process. We have so much junk. I cannot believe how much stuff we have built up in five years. I parted with three dodge ram truck fulls last weekend and think I would be happy with 10 more!

I started with the Art Room and I am now moving to each room. The living room is next and it should be pretty easy.

My Dh saw the mini bolts and said they look great- You should sell them. He got a big snicker out of that. The funny thing is I had all of my fabric piled up on Friday night and he was pretty upset with me. (I am on this lets get rid of crap kick.) Now it is organized he thought it looked nice. My DD3 helped a lot and was really proud. She does not know why she is getting dresses but she loves it!

Thanks so much. I am really fortunate to have a room. Our den is my Art Studio. Before I had our girls I taught art. It was the computer/art room. I did all my lesson plans and crafts here. When I was pregnant with my oldest is when I got serious about my business. The den is off the living room and has a door to the deck so it is not a good bedroom. My girls share a room so I got to keep my space. The room is about 10x10ish. I have learned to go vertical.

I am super organized with all my other art supplies I do not know why I never organized my sewing. I actually kept my old machine on the floor near the door! What was I thinking. I bought all of these beautiful fabrics but did not know what I had. Now I can see everything. I do not feel I have wasted so much money on fabric that I am never going to use.

It has taken a week but I finally got my Art Studio back in shape!

I really embraced the seamstress' idea of mini bolts. I made these during Monk. I thought it was the perfect oppurtunity to celebrate OCD. I also made mini bolts for trim.

Sorry if it was too many pictures. I just was really inspired by the ladies who posted there sewing areas. I cannot remember who posted it but she had a red walled sewing room- but thanks! I was really inspired!
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOUR SEWING ROOM/ART STUDIO!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! :flower3:

I do that with my extra trims, too ;)

For those of you that have ironing woes.... I always use "Magic Sizing" It is in a blue can near the spray starch at wall mart or Target. It honestly makes ironing fun (well, almost) :goodvibes I never sew without it. It also holds up pretty well when you pack and it won't gum up your iron. I even usually pack a bottle to take on trips. No use sewing lovely customs and having them all wrinkly.

What does Magic Sizing do?

Well, here is the Wiggles outfit.

I am also open to any ideas you all have to spice it up a bit. I don't want it to be clownish, just Wiggle Fabulous :)

I   it and wouldn't change a thing!!!

Here is the Pooh Pillowcase dress I did for Sophee.

Here are the fabrics we found for Hollywood and Vine. We are doing a circus theme Mickey mouse twirl skirt with matching tank!

Love the Pooh dress and really love the fabric combo for H&V! I have the Pooh toile, but no Pooh fans here! Just bought it because ?

Question...Should I use the standard red gingham as shown or use this gingham...

I also vote for the red/white gingham.

For my older daughter's outit I need to still sew a Pirate Minnie applique to the front. I ran out of black thread! :scared1: I also need to redo the straps, they're a bit too long. This was my first attempt at sewing anything like this.

You did a great job for your first attempt!!

Here's my latest finished project. I think the shirt needs some pink ribbon or something. Any ideas??

Would you please tell me what pattern you used for the skirt? I've been trying to make a tulle tutu skirt, but I like this one too! And I think the top looks great as is!

It has taken a week but I finally got my Art Studio back in shape! Boy was this a job. I took a ton of pics because I do not think it wil ever be this clean again!

Wow, wow and OH WOW!!! Now I really feel like a slob!!!

My Mom is a Balt Co. girl! All of my uncles and my grandparents live there. My DH went to Towson.

Have fun at the beach.

There is a hospital in Towson MD somewhere.....cause I was born in it! :goodvibes
Oh and we used to live in MD and vacation in Rohobeth Beach. But we would drive down to OC to the hotel with an indoor skating rink...a big hit when I was 7 or 8!!! Ahhhhh memories!!! ;)

Woohoo! My sewing machine came home yesterday so I was able to start getting caught up. I got these done yesterday and was very pleased with the results... although I still have some problems getting the mouths to look right. Someone asked me to do the applique on panels she sent that will be used for corset style tops. It was kind of fun to be able to do just the applique. :)

Wowza! The mouths look great to me....but the expression in the eyes are what gets me! Did you just to that with fabric and stitching? ARe the white dots in the pupils thread or fabric? Lisa, you are truely an artist...but instead of paint or clay you use fabric and thread!!!!

Excellent job on your sewing room! I love how you organized the fabric and notions and the baskets are so cute up on the shelf! Bravo! Thanks for the pics....never too many! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I sell under the ID zoe_diva_designs. I wasn't sure if it was OK to share so I haven't in the past... I hope it's OK.
I put it in my favorites! Thanks!

Those are fantastic and pretty resonably priced for a such a custom look! I really like the fairy invitation too!

Really cute...great idea! So what are you doing for the princess party? princess:

I love how all of the girls hair have "highlights" instead of just one color! So "current":woohoo:

This is the last of my organizing. I finished the ribbion. I need a bigger container for pink! It's not like I have girls! :goodvibes

Here are the jean capri's I finished tonight. They are completely CASEd. I bought the capri's at JC Penny for $9.99. They only come in 4-6 so the baby is getting a skirt. They were super quick and easy. Pretty cute too. :cutie:

Just a few things I've been working on.

A shirt I made for me (thanks for the help in the ric rac sewing, the straight stitch works much better!). I was thinking of doing a satin stitch around the head, but I'm so bound at doing that w/ round things.
disney009.jpg

Here's something for Ilana. It's not anything special, just an idea I had and I needed to decorate the top somehow. I must've erased the finished pics b/c Cinderella isn't attached in this pic.

AJ's shirt for the Ohana breakfast (Evan will have one just like this, but a different color shirt).
disney002.jpg

Ilana's Nemo jumper for Epcot, this isn't quite done either. I was thinking of adding some ribbons to the bottom?

That hotel is the Carousel. It's the only one that ever had, and still has the indoor skating rink! At night from my bedroom i can make out the vertical red strip of lights. It spells out Carousel down the front of the hotel. Local info...it used to be made fun of by the locals. Everything else stopped at like 30th street. Then there was NOTHING until the Carousel. Now of course there is no empty spaces. I remember as a kid, my family had a membeership there in the winters, and it took forever to drive there. (probably about 6 miles from my home) but there was nothing to look at! Course I also remember when they took the traffic lights down in the winter, and raised the speed limit on Coastal Hwy. And we used to be able to sit under the boardwalk when it got too hot. Not anymore!!

Oh thank you! The details of the face, like the "twinkle" in their eyes, is all done with hand embroidery. Those highlights are actually the hardest to do because I'm stitching through 5 layers of fabric (pupil, iris, white, flesh and base garment). I always seem to prick my finger when I do them because the needle tip is harder to see against the black. Luckily, I've never bled on the fabric.

I really try to do as much with the sewing machine as I can but usuall it's easier to get the details done by hand. Sometimes, like on Mickey and Minnie, I can use a free motion stitch to add highlights to their eyes and nose.

Thanks for the compliments! The pattern for the bag is McCalls 4401. It is a fat quarters pattern, but of course you wouldn't have to use them. I think it would be the perfect size for a kid, but the the cords are too long! You'll have to shorten them up a big. I can't wait to see yours!

Thanks so much. I hope it's easy!

Well Ladies I just got back from Walmart and for those on a budget or just want some cute tops/skirts they have a new stock in for the fall. I got some cute Alice in Wonderland shirt and Peter Pan in Brown with pink icons from the movie. Really cute! They were quite popular when I was there.

Here is a picture of Ocean City from my house. This is the view from the second story of my house. Not a pic of my house. About 2 minutes by boat. What you are seeing is the Carousel Hotel on 118th street.

We have been Ravens season ticket owners from the beginning. We only have 2 seats though. I actually am grateful for that, because I almost bought three becasue we only had one child, and then we had 2 more, so someone would always have been left out. Actually since the #3 kiddo, we end up selling the tix on "the site that must not be named." The drive and the time away from the kids, the cost of a sitter, is just "WOW" anymore!!

Soooo Jealous! I would love to move down your way but DH will never move back to MD and he tolerates my love of OC---full of memories! :cloud9: My family has a place in Montego Bay on 130th street 1 street from the Bay. How old are the kiddos, I know you said the one was 15? Do you have others? DD is 4 and DS is 1---if you go down that way on the weekend maybe we could have a meet on the boards one night for some fries and fun. I will be down with my parents and no DH--he is working.

I would love to have season tickets but we too are a good drive away and need a babysitter. In a couple years I am hoping to buy 2 PSLs because I live for SUNDAY during football season and I think there is nothing better than tailgating with friends and watching the best game in the world.

Sorry guys for being off topic---but a sentimental cord was struck!

Oh my Hello Fellow Marylanders! :grouphug: My family will be in Camping Griswald's neck of the woods on Thursday, my sister is in OC til Saturday and we're going down to stay a day or 2 with her.I live in the burbs of Baltimore County. We're big Raven's fans too. We were up at training camp last Thursday. DD 7 caught 2 footballs kicked by Todd Heap ,she was surrounded by all these bigger kids and she just stepped right up and caught both of them. Todd Heap , Ray Lewis and some of the other guys on the team were laughing about her catching them, and told the ball boys to let her keep one, but the ball boys made her give them back, she was not a happy camper .

Blessed Be,
Tina

Tina thats a bummer about not letting her keep the ball. Did you get any autographs? Next year I am definitaly going to make it to training camp one day, I am sad that I couldn't make it this year.

All I can say is WOW! You are so very talented, thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

I am buying a bunch of custom bottlecaps from ebay to make DD4 necklaces to match her custom outfiits. Where do you buy your beads ro get them at the best price? What is easy and best to string them on? I love the beads with the little rhinestones in them, but don't know what they are called? Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated!

I found some beads at Walmart that look like they have rhinestones in them. They are very cute and I think they are what you're describing. They are not with the jewelry making section. They are with the pony beads section. They also have the beads that look like candy.

I hope I don't offend anyone on here, but these are the most incredible appliques I've seen! I think any appliques deserve credit because I've never done them and they all look so pretty.

Lisa, what size are the finished appliques?
