That's one of my favorite lines to use as a coordinate. They've discontinued so many of the colors, though. :( I've found a few online sources but mostly I watch for eBay auctions - can you believe some people actually sell their fabric unused!?!?! LOL

Here are the first two dresses.

This is the green and blue Mickey print. I am proud to say I made my little one a moo moo! :rotfl2:

Keep in mind we are not going for seven months- well six months 29 days. Who's counting. In the last nine months DD grew 5 inches. I am not going to sew the straps in yet. I am goind to wait and do that the week before we leave. That way I can make adjustments.

I bought the green striped St. Judes fabric. I really want to add a ruffle but I do not know if I should. I could take a couple inches off the dress and then do it. Also do you think I should add a tie somewhere in the middle of the dress so I can tighten the waist. She is just do skinny!

Here is the nemo outfit for MGM. She is going to wear it in the morning before we go to the princess lunch. There of course she will change into a gown!:cutie:

I used nemo blanket binding on the bottom hem.

This was gonna be my next question! I've had this problem several times this morning - the needle comes completely out! I can't seem to screw it in tight enought. Maybe I need to use pliers or something?
loc-tight ...
(spelling? lock-tight, lock-tite, ??)
just a teeny-weeny bit, though~!
too much & it'll "never" come out.

Oh Lisa, I can't wait to see these! I am watching your apron top on ebay! I'm actually stalking you now:hippie: Are you gonna post the pictures of how you sew the cuffs to the shirts? You know us "slower sewers" need picture help!:rotfl2:

You all are so funny...When I get back from Disney I will be starting my Christmas stuff...Yea!!
I can't believe that I leave in less than 2 weeks and don't have all of the girls stuff together yet...sigh...

aimee - I think the ruffle would be cute, but you'd need to shorten that bottom tier.
Hmm.
Maybe you should wait until closer to time so you know how much she will grow?

when do you all do your sewing. I can only sew a bit at a time. I have 3 children of my own then I sit for 3 others, so the ages in my home are..... 3 mos old, 20 mos old (theese two are sisters I babysit), 2yrs old (mine), 4 yrs old (I babysit), 6 yrs old (mine), and 11 yrs old (mine) :dance3: . The only time I get to sew is about 2 hours at night. That is after quality time with dh. He gets home from work and then the kids go to bed at 8:30, dh goes to bed at 10pm (he leaves for work at 3am). SO I get to sew after 10 pm. UGH. not much time when you are up at 6 am to babysit. I am wondering how you all do it? Am I not managing my time. Please give me all of your advice as to how to sew when the kiddos are awake. Then I think I could get more done. :confused3 . Really I am just so jealous of all of your great work :worship: . I must say though, that I did find time today to tape 4 ziploc bags to hangers today and fill them. :) :woohoo:

OMG! Last night that is what I did! I brought an extra big bag with me. I put all my new fabric treasure in the bag and through two stuffed animals ontop. When I walked in the house the 10 new yards of Minnie dot were not spied!

Although, that does not even come close to when I left the receipt for my full foil highlights on the the front seat of the car. He handed me the receipt and said I do not want to know how much this stuff costs!

hearing that makes me soooo glad I'm not married

What made it worse is I have blond blond blond hair. I went swimming in my Aunt's pool and my hair turned bright green. My normal $150 splurge quickly jumped to $200. Blond is something you have to maintain though!

What do you think about just taking off the bottom layer all together?? Then I could do a nice ruffle. She is just really tall and skinny. She is 3 1/2 and 41 inches tall. Her measurements are 21,21,21. Wouldn't you love to be built like her!!!!!

Those are BEAUTIFUL! Nice Work!
my girls are skinny, too ...
I sometimes add little ribbon "loops" on the sides, under the arms = so, I can "lace-it-up" on each side, to fit right ... :)
(*little ribbon loops, in two rows, running up & down, about 1-1.5" inches in between each loop, the rows are about 2-4" apart depending on how much bigger it is on her)

These can be added AFTER the garment is finished, or during construction, by placing them inside a small seam ...
Like a mini-version of the loops/eyelets of the corsets, that are so popular now-a-days...
+ makes a spot to add coordinating ribbons = match hair-bows :)

example (not-new-dress) ... click to enlarge

You MIGHT be able to just add two vertical rows of Rick-Rack, to make the loops, too :) ... sew off-center, so they leave lacing gaps/"loops"

Taking the bottom layer off would be fine too.
21,21,21?
Well not now cuz I can't sew for that! Nothing I make for Jeanie (the 2 year old) fits, but my stuff fits fine. :confused3
I'm going to get the hang of it, though! I swear.
I love that nemo fabric I have 5 yards of it to make another matching set for me, tammy and jeanie.

fortheloveofpooh - I sew when I get home from work, but I have no kids! It makes it much easier!

Maybe Utah can give you advice. She has 4 kids, babysits 3 or four and still sews.
Whew. I get tired just thinking about it!
She's also OCD like me, so that could be it.
But she's cute as a button! :rotfl2: Bless her heart. ;)

Those are wonderful! I'm more of a scrapbooker as well and have so many ideas running through my head for the kids' autograph albums. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Thanks!

I just got the Hancock's ad in my e-mail and they have the 99 cent patterns online! Here's the link: http://www.hancockfabrics.com/category/viewAll.x/10/2712.html

They also have free shipping on orders over $25 with coupon code EFSZWD.

I haven't tried to combine the free shipping with the 99 cent patterns yet. But, I fully intend to!

ETA: The patterns pages are loading REEEEALLLY slow. I also realized it's still a limit of 5 patterns/person, so you'd have to find $20.05 in other items to get free shipping.
Oh crap, I can't even sew and I had to run right over to the website to see what I "need".:rotfl:

See, I knew I'd found kindred spirits when I opened this thread. LOL I knew I had a problem when I was at the cutting counter and before I could tell the woman the length I needed, my then 3yo DD said "We'll take all of it". I realized that too often that's exactly what I'd say myself so I've tried to really scale back. The most I'll buy now is 5 yards unless I have a specific need for more - and I never really do. Still, I know if I added up what I've spent for fabric in my stash, I'd think of it in terms of how many Disney days that would have bought me instead. :thumbsup2 Here's a photo of just some of my stash.

What pattern did you use? I MUST copy (and hopfully not butcher ;) )if you don't mind. I had that mickey camouflage print in my hot hands and didn't get it!

I saw that Nemo at Walmart but I didn't know there was Nemo binding (I'm thinking ANY thing not to have to ruffle-by-hand again, my machine doesn't have any kind of tension control so the baste and pull one thread breaks halfway through  so I hand ruffle or floss)

Alright you!!!! I'm watching that reversible epcot masterpiece too. I'm considering bidding on it! Or at least racking up the bids ;) (I just might win. I would be thrilled!)

:cheer2:

Now if you would auction the cow dress...

Great dresses! I think the striped ruffle would look nice on the bottom, but I'm not sure about shortening the green since it appears to be the same width as the top strip. Would that look out of balance? I don't think I'd totally get rid of the green though because I personally like the dark/light contrast. I'm a big help, huh? LOL!

Let's see the camo pattern was Easy Stitch and save by McCalls M5370.

The nemo was See and Sew 3889. That one is so super easy!! I have made a few versions of this dress. For Nemo I used ribbion for the straps instead. The nemo binding is with all the rick rack. They also have Pooh Bear too!

Copy away! Hopefully you will not make Moo Moo too!

Where can I get this fabric. My Joann's doesn't have it anymore:sad:

I'm in desperate need of this fabric to match a shirt my daughter has. Anyone know where I can get it or where to look online? I've hit every store near me I can think of.
