I just made this for a friend's 8 year old, for her birthday present.
She does not like "frilly, ruffly" things to wear. :)

It only took about 1-1.5hrs. :)
The fabric's from last year. It's the wall/quilt panel, that came on a yard with 2 pillow panels. It was on clearance at Wallymart, not long back.
I'm not sure it'll fit on a smaller Tshirt or dress, but if you can figure out how to "wrap-it-around" just right, IT MIGHT?! :)
I'm going to add some glittery fabric paint before I give it to her. Gotta have pixie dust!
I suggest HANG DRY ONLY on this one, for easier care/no iron.

I would have loved to applique it onto a SKIRT for her, but I'm not sure she'd wear it.

FOR THOSE THAT DON'T SEW or are NEW-TO-SEWING =
You can make this! Use Under-Wonder to attach the design, and then use clear fabric paint to seal all the edges :) Super Easy & Fun! You can even have the kids help.

What a beautiful shirt!

Thank you so much for posting an idea for non-sewers. I've been stressing about how to keep the edges from fraying. My mom said she'd do a zig zag stitch, but I'm scared it will mess the clothes up and I'll be out lots of money. I can't figure out how to explain the little stitch I've seen here around appliques... :confused3 I'll try the clear paint. Thanks again!

Here is the skirt that I "dreamed" up after my son woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. It was inspired by someone else's HMS skirt.
What should I do for the top? I was thinking an applique megaphone with either GO TEAM or EHS on it. Any other ideas.

CUTE! I like the Megaphone idea.

Alright you!!!! I'm watching that reversible epcot masterpiece too. I'm considering bidding on it! Or at least racking up the bids ;) (I just might win. I would be thrilled!)

:cheer2:

Now if you would auction the cow dress...

You missed the cow dress, the origional went a while ago, and the other one, went to a dear Diser for her DD

I was in our other walmart today to get fabric and they don't have any (this is only the 1st time I was in there) I was talking to the girl in crafts and she said ...... get this...... they are in the midst of slowly removing the fabric dept from all walmarts. I said are THEY INSANE!!!! living in the hicktown that I do, walmart is the only place to get fabric. UGH. Has anyone else heard this said anywhere? And seriously, give me your time tips as to how to sew with kids running about. I want to make much more then I have time for.

...

It might not stop them from removing fabrics sections from all their stores, but maybe they'll realize there is a NEED to consider selling fabric online or something, anything?! ... Thanks~!

Click the blue arrow [>] for more info on "WHY" "they" are doing this to us.

CastleCreations- Welp, I loved it. I didn't even LIKE cows (other than steak ;) ) before that. I can't wait to see what you come up with for Christmas.

And thanks for reminding me to get my roots done! :cool2:

you've created a fabric collecting addict out of a newbie... I even went to Hancock's today and bought 5 patterns (you would think this is hilarious if you knew me). I also bought some more fabric... (THIS TO ADD TO THE 3 boxes of DISNEY FABRIC)

This was from an online store that I rec'd in the mail today . . . not Disney but cute:

And, I found this at Hancocks-- I thought it would be great for when we eat at Prime Time Cafe....(now I know I'm freaking out -- making outfits for Disney restaurants) ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I CAN DO WITH IT?

By the way : Aimeeg -- -love the nemo dress!!!

when do you all do your sewing. I can only sew a bit at a time. I have 3 children of my own then I sit for 3 others, so the ages in my home are..... 3 mos old, 20 mos old (theese two are sisters I babysit), 2yrs old (mine), 4 yrs old (I babysit), 6 yrs old (mine), and 11 yrs old (mine) :dance3: . The only time I get to sew is about 2 hours at night. That is after quality time with dh. He gets home from work and then the kids go to bed at 8:30, dh goes to bed at 10pm (he leaves for work at 3am). SO I get to sew after 10 pm. UGH. not much time when you are up at 6 am to babysit. I am wondering how you all do it? Am I not managing my time. Please give me all of your advice as to how to sew when the kiddos are awake. Then I think I could get more done. :confused3 . Really I am just so jealous of all of your great work :worship: . I must say though, that I did find time today to tape 4 ziploc bags to hangers today and fill them. :) :woohoo:

I'm having a hard time finding time too. And I have less children... just two. Although the 1.5 year old is scared by the sound of the sewing machine.... :rotfl:

At least you have a business (your items are GORGEOUS btw--I came across an auction last night and recognized the JoJo set. Really, really amazing work!). I'm collecting mumble mumble :rotfl: yards for no good reason...

Oooo, I want a link... someone pm it to me, pretty please?

I like this idea as a sewing alternative. I was thinking about glow in the dark fabric paint...for all those rides that have the black lights, DS loves it when his clothes glow! Actually I do to :thumbsup2 .

Hey has anyone used these for a little iron-on bling?

I was looking at the iron-on bling on-line today. Did you find them in a store? The site I found had that one and "Queen" with a crown for $5 each.

I used the iron on bling to add the skull and cross bones to my daughter's dress:

Wow, I felt like I haven't posted in forever. Love all the new outfits! I just finished a project but my youngest is in the bathtub yelling for me to turn on the water. I'll try to pop back on later.

I know I've already posted this about 4 times (this is the 2nd time today!), so I'm sorry if I'm annoying people. But, if you want to make sure that WalMart keeps their fabric departments, call 1-800-WALMART and send an e-mail to corporate using this link:

http://walmartstores.com/GlobalWMStoresWeb/navigate.do?catg=221

Go ahead and sign the petition that someone posted above too! The employees in our local WalMart fabric dept say that the phone calls and e-mails have really made a difference and that WalMart is listening, at least locally.

If you want to "join the cause", add the "save walmart fabric" logo to your siggy, along with the link to e-mail corporate. Here's the link to the graphic: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb256/disboutique/fabric n patterns n ideas/Savefabricssmall.jpg

I found the product list on the manufacturer's website
I saw the following options...
Angel, Bad Girl, Diva, Drama Queen (w/Crown), Guilty, Hot, I Love Nerds (heart for the word love), Perfect 10, Princess (w/Crown), Rock Star they also had a dragon and a sun both images not words.

And they had Halloween ones:
Good Witch, Haunted, Monster, Scary, Spooky, and Wicked

it also looks like you can buy a pack of just letters in gold or silver. Hmmm, the wheels are turning.

the website says they are found at all the usual suspects.
But I haven't seen prices yet... $5 you say?

Oh thank you that helps! Might I ask what color thread looks best? Red like the scarf? Or Black like my Mickey Head? I do have some clear nylon thread too. Any recommendations?
I used the red to match the scarf fabric. Since the back side of the applique is not seen the stitches are not seen and if the stitches on the front end up a little bigger than I intended(getting distracted while I'm sewing ie a good part on TV...I save my hand work for watching TV...I HAVE to be DOING something while watching..LOL) they blend in better....Nana

It SCREAMS 50's PrimeTime to me too. Just don't get S'Mores all over it. Or, it can be worn to Sci Fi Drive In? Just brainstormin'....
((great, now I want s'mores))
I absolutely love all the vintage/retro prints you picked out!

Any idea why that Walmart thing is showing up so freakin' big in my signature, even though it's only 100x51 pixels on photobucket?

Nevermind- I fixed it.

Thanks... I have a bunch more too that I have in my stack. I forgot about Sci-Fi (we are doing both next trip). Any ideas on what I should do with it?

The ones I found for $5 were on polkadotpetals.com They also had tons of words.

Oh! I something similar for $3 each with shipping. It's not as pretty, but it's a great price.

Ths fabric coordinates with the one Castlecreations used. Both fabrics are at WALMART! (I think they have the "Moo..." fabric too.)
