hello everyone,

haven't had much chance to get onto the boards lately as i have had 4 kids (and 1 husband-who was an even bigger baby) sick with the flu. there has been a awful flu going around here lately that has actually killed a few children and a 40 year old man. so there are alot if nervious parents over here closely watching every cough and checking temps.

with the kids being sick and all wanting extra cuddles ( i have my 11 month old on my lap right now, he is the latest to get sick) my sewing time suffered.

i made an ariel dress for my dd6 but i have messed up the straps because when she puts it on the front puckers out too much(halterneck). i also messed up on the ariel applique. i cheated my doing her face on my embroidery machine and accidently set the machine to do her nose in black thread. so them i realised i would have to do all her skin outlined in black otherwise her nose would stand out to much. anyway here is a photo but i think it would look better if her skin and nose where done in a brownish tan colour. (p.s this is an outfit i CASEd from another outfit i saw a while ago on that little auction site;) ) front-

I love the Little Einstein...Too cute. We are going to see Disney Live, and I just don't have the time to make them something special. This would have been great. Love the Mermaid too...I think she looks perfect!

HI!!!!
Ok...see? Higher than horizontal..."The Full Twirly" (Spongie is looking over my shoulder and says it looks like a watermelon in this picture)

Sorry the skirt wasn't all that and a bag of chips...but it's worth it to see my dd PRANCE around...which they don't do when they're teenagers. So, I'll take it!

Okay first, that skirt is so completely DARLING!!! I LOVE Candy corns on anything...add Candy Corns to any outfit and BA-BAM it's cool!

second...seeing your cute patootie little one almost makes me want to have my own...almost...see I have this FEAR of childbirth...and toddlers...and teenagers...and what if I have BOYS?! ;)

seriously too cute though! GREAT job!!!:thumbsup2

OLLIEGIRL: Welcome. I've been to your site before and well, I'm an honest gal...it's possible I will be C.A.S.E. ing some of your ideas. Just thought we should get that out in the open right now.:rotfl:
...t.

Yep, I thought honesty was the best policy too! Especially since she now has the dress I was going to CASE as her avatar!

Did I ever show you all my Back to school Preppy Minnie set. Josephine loved this set!

OHHH, and a big  to you too! It's hard having sick little ones.

I think your Ariel looks really good. I like the black thread. I wouldn't have thought a thing of it if you hadn't said you didn't intend to do that!

The Little Einsteis is great too!!

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon! My little nephew, Sawyer has been pretty sick too.

If anyone is up right now... I CAN'T GET MY MINNIE DOT'S TO MATCH!!! Grrr. matching pattern is a super pet peave of mine and I am going NUTS!!!

Uh oh... they're supposed to match up? I guess I should get back to work!

AAAAHH!!! I had a more obnoxiously long than usual multi-quote going when ds1 restarted my computer for me. Thanks Sawyer! Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for their sweet comments on the nightgown I made. It's really big, but Tessa loves it and says it's "comfy cozy".
I also wanted to share my big '90's hair with you all. This is the story of how I met my husband- at the MALL!! The 2nd pic down showcases the biggest my hair ever got. It was just me, my curling iron, and a bottle of Stiff Stuff.

I want to add that I SO appreciate everyone's silly sense of humor on here! You all always put me in a good mood!

Love your Story! My hair was about that big, too! :rolleyes1

Speaking of which, I made a peasant top to go under my DD7's Alice dress (for our 1900 Park Fare breakfast). It's cute. I just haven't figured out what I'll put in her hair. She just had it cut for Locks of Love, so it's MUCH easier to manage! I thought about finding a black headband like Alice's (with a bow), but now I'm thinking I may just use a blue bow.

LAZYDAZY8---- What a kind and generous DD you have:banana:     !!! My son is currently in luekemia remission. He liked being bald and now has hair for the first time in a year. The girls at his clinic do not. It is amazing how much more girly a little hair can make those children feel. As a cancer mom---- Thank you to your little girl!!!!!! Peolple may never realize how much that hair meant to a little girl. :hippie:

My son is still on chemo but is doing wonderful. He is a tough cookie!!!

Also how does anyone have the time for all of this sewing?? I need some time management help I believe. Thanks--- Mindy

What is your son's name? I would like to pray for him. Please keep us posted on his progress.

Uh oh... they're supposed to match up? I guess I should get back to work!

Mathematically... yes, if all the dots are equidistant there should be no reason I can't match them up....but I've tried every way but diagonally and no dice..

I'm too tired for this... I haven't even got to sewing. I'm going to make my ruffles and go to bed. I'll put it all together tomorrow, unmatched dots be damned!

Daisy8 - LOVE your story about your mom. What a selfless woman!

Eeyore: I love your outfit. So very very cute! Especially the pirate outfit and skirt!

I love that it is so cute.

Someone asked how I made the little back packs. I cut out four rectangles 2 for the outside 2 for the lining so it's nice and sturdy. I cute out a small square out of coordinating fabric and sewed it to the front center. Next I attached the ribbon inside the pocket to keep Minnie from being lost. And I should have added the straps then but forgot. So out came the seam ripper our nice friend. I put in the lining. And then I added a strip of pink fabric that matched the pocket around the top. I also put two little pieces of hook and loop tape (Velcro) for it to close. I wanted it to be easy for them. Since they are 2. I made the two of them in less then 2 hours. I hope this wasn't too confusing.
:)

I am thinking of doing this to go with a skirt for my DD to wear on the cruise. Keep in mind it is only pinned and the pattern is still in the middle, but does it look like a mickey head to you? My hubby thinks it is a heart, but I am about over asking him his opinion. So what do you think?

I love that JoJo outfit! Do you have any pictures of your DN in it? From what I've see on here, Dena does some fantastic work! (I wish she would come around here more often though!)

Dena does phenomenal work. DN is in WDW this weekend for her birthday and hopefully will be wearing her new outfit tomorrow at MGM. If I get pics of her in the outfit I will be sure to post them on here. However, I wouldn't hold my breath :sad1: Suffice it to say she is 3 years old tomorrow and I only have one picture of her :confused3

Anyhow, if she enjoys her new duds then my job as Auntie is a success in my book princess:

Well, I see mickey everywhere so maybe that's not a fair question. :rotfl: Maybe make the ears a little fuller (width wise) that would be my only suggestion. If it's already cut out, don't even worry about it. What a cute idea!

A testament to my tiredness, I just figured that 23+23=64. Strangely that is NOT the correct sum. I am going to bed.

Are we allowed to post the names of Etsy stores? Or other stores for that matter? I am unclear on the rules and not sure where to look.

I was able to get just enough juice in my camera battery to snap a few pics and upload. Here is the Halloween set. Simple, but very cute on!

And this is a close up of what I call the semi-appliqued tee. I heat-n-bonded the candy corn, and instead of stitching around the edges, I placed rhinestuds to trim. I like the way it looks, and if it doesn't hold up, then oh well. It's probably only gonna be worn once anyway.

What a neat idea! Great job!
