Got another one done! Still learning to appliqué. Here's a little princess set for my dd. It's a little big on her, but I think by December, it will look better. Plus, she'll wear a t-shirt under the top, probably. I did "princess" down one leg, then on the other leg, I did a symbol for each princess - apple for Snow White, shoe for Cinderella, book for Belle, and a wand for Sleeping Beauty (from the fairies, actually - I had to stretch on that one, LOL - couldn't think of anything besides the spindle.)

Do you think it looks weird with the apple, etc in those colors - I felt like I had to stick with the pink, yellow, blue to go with the fabric in the top rather than the traditional red for the apple.
What do you all think?
I love it! How did you attach the ruffles and do the trim on them?

Are there any Australian Dis'ers out there? I thought I have seen a few :) I am desperately searching for Wiggles fabric. We are going to see the Wiggles live in August. Since finding this board I am addicted to customs, so little Katie must have the perfect custom for the show. I have looked everywhere online and at every fabric store close to me. I was wondering if someone from Australia (or anyone more search savvy than me) could point me in the right direction online of overseas fabric stores. I found some one EBay, but they are all 100% polyester or just fat quarters and I need a few yards of material. Thanks in advance. I really appreciate the help. I know Katie will also :)

We too LOVE the Wiggles but I have boys and that polyester fabric was just way too girly. We bought twin size sheets and if I ever get my butt in gear I'll be using those for the boys outfits. There's a couple different styles and you shouldn't have any problem finding them on Ebay.

Ok Ladies -

I am on the hunt for another pattern. I have seen a lot of 'fancy' boutique dresses on ebay that I just love, and would like to find the pattern everyone uses. I 'think' it is a Daisy Kingdom pattern that is no longer in production, and was hoping to find it too on ebay, if I can just find the pattern number.

I don't want to get into any trouble posting pictures that are not mine (:) ) but if you search Autumn Harvest Border Dress and Autumn Harvest Toile Dress the two patterns I am looking for will come up in an ebay store. Anyone have any ideas on the pattern??

(Check out her other dresses... she has some great character themed dresses!)

Tammy

Try simplicity 4246...looks really close!

I use those in her hair (the clear rubberbands) and they fall out in less than an hour! Do you think that maybe the extra clamp of the alligator clip would hold it in better?

She is going to be a flower girl this Saturday in a wedding, I think I am going to spray her hair with hair spray to try to get it to do something:confused: She has a natural curl at the very bottom of her hair, but I would like her to have somekind of up do :confused3

My dd's hair is pretty fine right now. I have found the little clear bands at Clairs that are really small. They stay in her hair much better than the larger size. They are made for infants and toddlers and located with the little clips for babies. I also put a little clip in front of the piggies to dress it up sometimes, but she also just loves to have her hair done :)

Hi all

I am from Australia and have to have a little laugh to myself re the Wiggles fabric. I see lots of your stuff on these boards and would love to make them but we can not get the material or it cost a fortune for shipping. I especially love the pillow patches(I think that is what you call them) of the princess but I have looked and we have nothing like it. I would also love some appliqued Animal Kingdom Mickey ears but again it seems a lot to get them shipped out to Australia when buying on Ebay. Anyway I do not know of any fabric shops on line in Australia but if you let me know what you need I can go to our local fabric shops takes some photos of material post it and if you want arrange to send it to you. Let me know.

Ps we are comming to WDW in October so trying to work out what I can make for DD 5 to wear

I love everything! The small world outfit came together great and I love all the capri outfits! Everything looks so nice! Thank you for sharing with us.

I love it! How did you attach the ruffles and do the trim on them?

Thanks! I do ruffles just like a few people posted earlier - right sides, raw edges together, then flip down and topstitch, catching in the seam. The edging on the ruffles is just a rolled hem that I do with my serger.

I'm doing a Buzz Lightyear set for DS next. Hopefully, I'll have it finished in a couple of days. This whole work thing is cutting into my sewing time, lol.

I'm a little slow and new to ruffles - could you give more detailed info on how you did it?

Ok so I finally made something. Not a big deal, but for me ....a non sewer I was so proud of the tutu I made! My girls LOVE them! My DD5 is so amazed that I made it ...if I could sew like you guys she would think I ws the ultimate mom!!!

AnNyway I was planning on attaching some ribbion to my girls skirts to go with there princess shirts, bu I can't figure out which page the directions are on. I know I read it once on here and thought I could do that....since the person was using glue I figured I could handle it...Does anyone know which page these directions were on...I have looked and looked and my head is just spinning!!

Also with regard to the bottle cap necklaces...they look easy could you share how you made them becuase I could probably handle that too!

Thanks everyone! Your creations are AWESOME!!

:scared1: Yikes!!! I mean it is beautiful but $660. That's more than my mortgage.

I'm with you...that is too rich for my blood! We do well for ourselves, but when I'm on Ebay I'm looking for a bargain or something unique...but not $660 worth of unique! :rotfl: Guess that are all kinds out there. Maybe I've got to get cracking on my own machine and tap into that customer base-my luck it just wouldn't happen for me. :confused3

:cheer2: :cheer2: Okay ladies this is my first thing I've ever sewed! I think it turned out okay. It's not perfect by any means but at least it's wearable :rotfl2::lmao: :rotfl2: DD wanted it long. Right now it's not Disney-fied, but if it survives till December I'll add some appliques to it to turn it princessy and maybe make a matching top. So what do you think?

Congrats! I think it turned out great and it look like your DD is pretty pleased with it as well. Great work!

COuld someone explain how to use a stabalizer? I've been working on appliques, but have no idea what a stabalizer is. I thought it was an iron on on the back side, but what I bought did not iron on. I know this is a dumb question, but I am a beginner willing to learn. TIA.
