I did not see any Green mickey heads (What is the green head thing?):confused3
QUOTE]

Are you asking what's up with the green Mickey heads? I hope I didn't misinterpret your question. If I did, disregard my drawn out answer! The official color of the disboards is lime green. That's how we recognize each other at the parks. Home Depot has lime green (I think it's called alien green or something) Disney paint chip samples that are shaped like Mickey heads. People have been getting these, laminating them and wearing them somewhere on their person at the parks. If you see another Diser, you're supposed to do what Al Pacino is doing in Jen "Mickeyfan"'s signature, then point at the Diser you see. Great fun! :rotfl:

DId the Focker thing really ever take off? I was on the boards when it was proposed but never thought anyone would actually do it. Were you ever Focked? Have you Focked someone else? That's too much fun!!! And I think that any lime green is acceptable but ALIEN green is definitely the preferred shade.

I think it looks great! I had the same problem with clumping when I tried the stitches closer together. So, I just had to settle for a further apart stitch. I don't know how the back is supposed to look. But, why isn't there stabilizer on 1/2 of it? Are you supposed to take it off after you stitch it?

Well, I thought you're supposed to tear it off - after all, it's called 'tear away' stabilizer. :confused3 I just did part of it to see how easy it would come off and then I cut the 'wings' off so the back of the image could be seen.

So, can anyone tell me if the back of my appliqué is how it's supposed to look? Or is my tension messed up on my bobbin? I hate having to adjust the bobbin tension... (post with images at the bottom of page 350)

Any of you appliqué PROS care to share any tips with those of us wanting to learn? (seems like there's been quite a few questions about this from other people lately too)

I'm definitely not a PRO. I'm actually one of the DISers who asked some applique questions. But, I did do an applique with the tear-away stabilizer. After I finished, I did tear it away. It took a little effort to get it all torn off. Not too much, but more than I thought. Does any of this make sense? lol.

I have to upload pics of my beautiful (NOT) applique work.

My dd's hair is pretty fine right now. I have found the little clear bands at Clairs that are really small. They stay in her hair much better than the larger size. They are made for infants and toddlers and located with the little clips for babies. I also put a little clip in front of the piggies to dress it up sometimes, but she also just loves to have her hair done :)
Those are the ones I use. They can cut off the circulation in my pinky! If we are out somewhere I have to put her piggy or pony tails back in several times (if I want her to stay looking cute. lol). Her hair is just so fine right now, I am really hoping it thickens up! I bought some hair spray yesterday for the wedding on Saturday :goodvibes

OH YES! There is still a thread. The first one got deleted for a play on the word "focker":headache: . There was a big meet when we were there in April. Here's a pic...

I am actually meeting a DISer tonight! We are meeting for icecream, she is going to be in my neck of the woods:banana: We have never met.

Hey Jen!

That's really cool that you're meeting up with someone from the boards.
Everything happens for a reason!

Great work everyone! I am getting closer to finishing that ariel outfit for my friends DD, I can't seem to take myself away from the computer :confused3 . I did make a pair of shorts the other day, was pretty proud of myself (it was my first pair). I think I know why there is 4 pieces to the shorts now, mine only has 2 cut pieces (didn't use a pattern)... I will have to post pictures tonight. They are still on my camera. :goodvibes jen

OK! When I first went through the pages I had to catch up on there was a name for the fabric nana used in her around the world outfit, I have been through the past 3 pages SEVERAL times, and I can't find the name again! My computer crashed earlier when I had "copied" the name to "paste" it in Ebay. Please help someone! :flower3:

 I thought I had a Hancock fabric an hour from my home, I visited the website yesterday and nothing came up for Michigan, Nothing!! So I looked up a number through msn search, and the number has been disconnected. So the closest Hancock is in Indiana 3+ hours away :sad1:

I don't know the name of the fabric you are looking for. If you are looking for a specific fabric at hancocks I can look for you and get it if we have it. I have at least 2 right around me! Let me know!

Whew!!!

gone a couple of days, and whoa it's hard to catch up!

I was the one super interrested in that Navy outfit. I did NOT buy it. I love my grandmother and daughter, and would love to have that outfit, BUT would not pay that much for any outfit. Sorry could not do it!!

However that being said, I am working with someone to make me the top, and I have a white pettiskirt. so maybe it will be even cuter! I can't wait to show up at the Naval Academy for a game and see others faces!!!

I bought Rudolph and the island of Misfit toys fabric, and an adorable kids and alphabet fabric at Walmart the other day. Will try to get pics up tomorrow. Also the fabric book panels that Castle Creations used for her Ariel outfits are on sale for 5 bucks. I already had the Ariel, but I did buy a princess one. i might go back, because they had Cars and Cinderella too.

Everyones out fits look great.

Nanas Customs are you going to list on e-bay? I already have you saved in favorites!

Castle Creations...I bet if you put that Ariel outfit on e-bay with a low starting bid, it would go higher than you think!

I would like to add a ruffke to the bottom of a dress I am making. I have figured out how to make the ruffle, but I am just not sure of the best way to attach it to the bottom of the dress. Help please!

I would pin the ruffle to the outside of the dress, right sides facing with the raw edges of the fabric matching. The ruffle will look like it is upside down. Sew the ruffle onto the dress, then, pull the ruffle down and press the seam on the inside up. I like to top-stitch my ruffles, which helps them stay down and it looks neater, IMO. Did any of that make sense? I hope so! Good luck and post pics when you're done!

How far up into MI are you? We have a Hancock here in Toledo and it sounds like it would be closer than Indiana. I can see if they still have it next time I'm out there but it would probably be the beginning of next week.

We used to have Hancock Fabrics in the Columbus area, but they all closed, too. :( I think Toledo might be my closest one. We ought to do a DISboards meet-up at the Toledo Hancocks! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I bought Rudolph and the island of Misfit toys fabric

This was one of those *got me again* fabrics. I was done shopping and as I was walking past to go look at something else, I spotted it. DD even liked it so we are going to make matching shirts for everyone & I'm not sure what else because I bought a LOT (I'm not sure if I did "give me all of it" or if it was just something like 8-10 yards), since it was 50% off & I wasn't sure how much I was going to need. I just love the Island of Misfit toys (although we had to come home to find out the Elf Dentist name because we couldn't remember!!!!! :lmao: )

This is why this thread is so dangerous to my wallet now -- it's gone beyond Disney -- I start seeing all sorts of really cute fabric that I like & buy a TON of it just because I figure I'll use it for something & would hate to run out of the ones I really, really, really like.
