Here is a top that I made for my niece who wants to match my girls when they wear their Minnie twirly skirts. It's nothing revolutionary, just a style that I thought was suitable for a tween or young teen. It's tunic length.

very cute ...

Hello Creative Disers - you have all inspired me to try to make something! I know I saw quilted safari Mickey heads on ebay before. If anyone know the seller can you please PM me the information because I cannot seem to find them. Thanks!

Also thanks for posting all your pictures - hopefully I will have some to share too. Also - if there are any good ebayers to watch please let me know - I have not been successful with the search functions.

Got my JoJo outfit!!! This is the most I've spent on an outfit and I love it!! (It wasn't THAT much - just more than I normally spend!) It's handpainted - another first.

DD LOVES it - she's napping. I'll try to post a pic. of her in it later.

I think I'll try to get a matching Goliath tee for DS2.

Just waiting for the matching bows ...

OMG, that is CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZYYY cute!! It looks like it's all painted on, correct? Good find!! I'm looking forward to seeing your DD in it and her bows!!

I've been watching all of your designs and I'm SOOO inspired  . I have a sewing machine that my Dad bought me (why I have NO idea since I can barely thread a needle :confused3 )and its never been out of the box :rolleyes1 but I was thinking of giving something a go but I'm not sure what lol. I've never even bought fabric and I'm terrified of using the sewing machine (I think I'm just nervous because I've never used 1) so could anyone give me any tips for starting out please..I'd really apreciate it :)

Yep handpainted. She has some princess and Tink sets too (she even paints matching shoes!!!). The :tinker: TINK SET IS AWESOME!!! She did a great job and was super fast!

Welcome to the thread. I'm not an expert sewer by any means. I've made a pillowcase dress, a couple pairs of pajama pants for my DS, and a twirl skirt.

I think the pillowcase dress is a great first project. I followed these instructions http://rowena.typepad.com/rostitchery/2004/06/done_is_better_.html and you can make it in an afternoon. (Fast results!) If you don't want to start from a real pillowcase, you can just measure how big around you want your dress to be, and how long, and make a tube of fabric that size. I'm sure whatever you do will turn out great!

hey everyone ..
Here's some of mine . if you have been on ebay for the past 4 1/2 years then you may have seen these because that where i used to sell my outfits.. I was doing really really well, But it seem like I never had time to sew for Alexis anymore and i was getting way over worked , became to much for me & i was sick . So i woke up one morning closed my shop, closed my online store & website Shipped off all my orders . and popular*tot closed its doors forever.. I no longer sell my outfits I just sew for my DD .. And it was the best thing i could have done for her & me ... I love sewing just for her ....

They are all so amazing! You have a very lucky daughter and she has a very special mom!!! I definitley know who to come to for help!!!:goodvibes

Okay, I'm hoping someone (with more experience and/or a better eye than I!) can help me find a 3rd fabric for a Cars twirl skirt for my dd . . ..

I already have this red Lightning fabric and a checked flag type like this.

What do y'all think? A bigger, 'waving' checkered flag print like this? Or maybe something with the yellow in it?

I just don't seem to be having any luck finding the right fabrics for my 1st project! TIA!!!

I showed my sister this thread, and she went out and bought some fabric and a Minnie Mouse t-shirt to make a dress for my neice. She showed me pictures and it is adorable! She is even making one for Lydia to match!!! She said she would post some pictures when they are done!!! She's Hkite, so be on the lookout for her! :woohoo:

Okay, you people are so inspiring (especially my sister, teresajoy)!! I haven't made an outfit since I tried making my nephew a baby outfit 15 years ago. I think it's still too big for him (yeah, it was pretty rediculous looking). So, keep in mind that I'm a novice when you look at the pictures. :cutie:

I bought a Minnie Mouse t-shirt for $3, a yard of pink and black dot fabric for $3 and a yard of black organza for $1, all at WalMart. I already had the ribbons. I'm just beside myself with excitement! So, I'm going to post the picture of the dress without my adorable daughter modeling it (she's not home and I can't wait). Here's what I made! :woohoo:

Fellow Michigander here - LOVE the dress!! How old is your daughter? Great job - very unique.

Thanks for the help with the fabrics. I guess I just am stuck. I so wanted there to be cute faces that went with the fabric. But then the fabric is pretty colorful and loud on its own, I don't need to add more. I do have a pretty striped fabric that has those colors, so i will see where we go next...thanks for the help and opinions.

where did you find the middle fabric with the small world looking faces? I love it:goodvibes

I really like this outfit! I've been watching it for a while and I think it was a great price for the work put into it. Dena is making my Jojo outfit now and that was much, much more than I normally spend but DD loves Jojo and I love Dena's work.
