Once big DD saw little DD's Nemo outfit she of course wanted one.. It took me a couple of days but I learned how to make a pair of shorts, got better at making waistbands, learned how to make the top bigger etc.. I am pretty pleased with the results.. Now I have to make hair bows to match!

Very cute!!

Ok, not Disney, but I had to show these. The 1st one was made from curtains that my mother was going to throw away! I made dd2 a top and added ruffles to some pants she already had. Not new, not perfect, but great practice and she looks so cute in it! The pants look uneven in the pic, but they aren't.

Pillowcase top & ruffles added to pants dd6 already had, I just cut them off above the worn out knees and voila... new pants! DH suggested adding rickrack to the pink ruffles on the pants, so I bought some today but wrong shade. I'll have to get more tomorrow. Looking at the pic, the top looks kinda plain, should I add something?

Another Dora outfit!! This will be a dress for dd2 or top for dd6, they both love Dora.

We are going to Ohana for breakfast on our last morning also!! I bought this today along with some matching yellow and light blue to make skirts for the girls. I have to be sneaky though, they don't know we're going! They're getting a surprise invitation from Lilo & Stitch the day before ;) !

Do you think it matches this ok? This was made by someone on the Creative DISign board. I have one for each of the girls that I'm going to put onto shirts for them. I was thinking a yellow shirt, then thought maybe white, but now that I bought yellow fabric for the skirts, I think it will look good. Opinions?

yummyfabrics has some stuff that I've not been able to find anywhere else!! Thank you so much for posting that!

I think it matches perfect!!!!!

I just PMed the DISigner to see if she could add something Elvis-y to the pic with Lilo. I was trying to think of a saying or lyric that would be cute, but I'm drawing a blank... and that is sad for an Elivs fan!

I found a really cute, different set on ebay. Search under Minnie Clubhouse. I love that it's so Minnie but not the traditional red & white polka dot. I'd totally buy this one if I didn't already have too many Minnie sets.

P.S. I am so excited!!! Just found out yesterday I am pg with baby #4!!! Now I'm really watching all those little kid sets again. :)

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!!!!!

I think it looks great. I just love that Elvis/Lilo idea!

How about "model citizen" underneath Abby? You know, like Lilo says in the movie, "Elvis was a model citizen."

Ok, I don't like Nightmare Before Christmas, but I know some of you do. There was an outfit just listed on Ebay pretty cheap with BIN. Search "Skeleton Magic", it's a size 4.

This is a question for all you moms who buy custom hair bows for your DD's.

How do you store and travel with them without crushing them?

I started making hair bows for my DD this week. So far I have made a few korker bows and they look pretty good. And they weren't too hard to do. But I am worried about them getting crushed.

Thanks.

Design_Mom- I love the twirl! It's fabulous! You did a beautiful job. I love those Classic Pooh colors. Do you have any thoughts about an applique on the T? Eve if you just made it a ribbon T with ribbons in those colors? I was thinking a honey jar with a little flower and bee would be precious, too..

I'm not sure what to do with the shirt. It looks like it "needs something" but I've never done applique before. I thought a honey bee could be cute (or a honey pot/flower, like you said.) I also thought I might consider making a shirt with a yellow body and the plaid for the sleeves, but I wasn't sure if that would be too matchy-matchy. Adding a couple of ribbons sounds like a good idea though. I hadn't thought of that, and it sounds like something I can handle. ;)

1st_trip4us: Congratulations on your 4th. :) What fun!

When we travel I either put them all together in a small box (I've got a cardboard box that my checks come in and it's a good size) and pack the box. Or, if it's just a couple of bows, I put them in a ziploc baggie and blow air into it until it puffs up like a pillow. It's worked for me.

I love these!! So many times inspiration comes from the least expected places. Now, I'll start looking in the drapery section for fabric!! I've seen gorgeous 100% cotton lace tablecloths that I think would make fabulous wedding gowns.

LOL! It sounds so "Sound of Music" (Remember, Maria made their play clothes out of the curtains in her room?) They're really adorable and that's a great way to recycle the fabric!

You could put them in some of those cheap disposable zip loc containers. Dollar Tree has them.

I keep my DDs' bows in old baby wipe boxes.

There is an outfit on e-bay right now using the second and third fabrics. The hello fabric has a white background though. It's an "altered" outfit- not 100% handmade. Search boutique small world. Someone mentioned this auction earlier, the seller must have re-listed it. Maybe it will give you some inspiration. By the way- do you know the name of the second faces fabric? And where is it from?

Its Alexander Henry "Smiles around the World" I found it on e-bay and searching through google too. about 9 bucks a yard.

That is too cute! I really like it! Good job with the creativity! :thumbsup2 Not only is it Sound of Music'ish -- it is very Scarlett O'Hara and Gone With The Wind'ish! :rotfl:

I make all my DD hair bows too..
