I can't believe it. I just finished the most darling Minnie inspired top for my dd. It was absolutely stunning! The last step was to simply put a snap in it.
My DH has noticed my little sewing obsession lately and brought me home a new little gadget to feed my obsession--a snap plier tool kit (bless his heart--he wanted to do something nice). I'd always either sewed in my snaps or just done it the old fashioned way, but I wanted to give his little gift a try. So after giving it a few tries on scrap fabric, I was ready to try it on my darling little top. Well, it uses a soft rubber to hold the snap pieces into place which much to my distress shift when pressure is applied sending the snap prongs jutting out all over--ripping a HUGE dime-sized hole in my new top

I can't believe it. I'm so discouraged right now I could cry. It's beyond repair and I'm almost too discouraged to start it over again due to the bad memories. Maybe I'll remake the top after I've moved on to something else with better success. I just can't believe it, aside from the stupid snap, the top worked perfectly---130" of ruffle detailing and all.
