For all those looking for the minnie ears on clippies search boutique miss mouse ears (on e-bay). It's a different seller, but it's current

Another big thank you to ObssessedwiththeMouse and ebay! When I saw this, I knew I had to try it so here is my Belle outfit. It's nowhere near as nice as the original but it only cost me a couple of dollars as opposed to a couple hundred dollars. :thumbsup2

This is really awesome! Nice work!

I've updated my very first thing I ever sewed. I turned the dress into a swing top and added knit shorts. I added the turqoise band and even did some fancy stitching! It's amazing what you learn when you read the owners manual!:woohoo: I'm going to add some swarskian (sp) crystals above Nemo for bubbles and randomly on the top too. Whatcha think?

Love it!

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am addicted to sewing clothes for my daughter!

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow and she wanted something cozy (and princess) to wear to bed:

I did not do a good job on the neck and arm holes, but it was my first time and she is thrilled. See you guys in a week: happy sewing!

You did great!!!! I'm surprised that it's your first effort.

Here's what the Alice set will look like: (This is not my daughter, nor my pictures, but the outfit will be the same!)

Gorgeous!!!!!

Here's a little no sew tank I made. I just used underwonder on it. You think that will hold up for a few days? I originally was going to applique it on, but working with stretchy knit is not fun. I bought sew in printer fabric stuff, and just printed the pic on it, ironed it, and attached it.

Very cute!

Here goes! I am finally posting my first few outfits. Keep in mind I am VERY new to this but I am loving it and am becoming very addicted to it!

How did I do?

You did great!

Here's another twirl skirt and halter that I threw together last weekend when my DSL was out. This is my favorite one so far! I used a dress that was unloved here, and cut out the green squares ... and ... that's where the appliques came from! They were already on the dress, so all I had to do was cut the squares to include them!

Presh!!

Hi Everyone! I've had a lot going on so please forgive me about not posting lately. Here is an outift I made yesterday. I had this retro Mickey fabric, but a tiny amount of it. I've held onto it for about a year. So this is what I finally did with it. I also saved enough for a hairscarf, headband.

I love the vintage Mickey in the outfit!
Well I had to go and make an apron top. I'm so pathetic. I used some old Mickey and Minnie dot fabric that I had laying around. I can't wait for my kids to get up, so I can try it on them. then if it fits right, I will copy it in the red and white dot. like the one listed..

It took me just under an hour... not too bad, but it definately needs some extra trim or maybe some of those Mickey head buttons...

You're amazing!

Here is tonight's project. I hand drew my applique's then mostly cut from fabric.. Tomorrow I need to do Lumiere for the back and then sew.. This is so fun!

Great looking appliques I can't wait to see it stitched.

I put the address in my siggy :-)

I will try to group them. Anyone can add if they want. the login is disboutique and the password is disboard (I think, I'll edit if not!)

I don't expect to have them all in till tomorrow so please be patient!:dance3:

You're the best!! I can't tell you how many times I try to remember about where an outfit is......then I can't find it.

Okay I am attempting the photobucket thingy. Please keep in mind that these pics were not taken with intent to post here! I made this pillowcase dress (very first attempt) for a Western Theme Park here. The pattern is sherriff stars, cowboys, indians, horse shoes etc. It was a buck a yard.:confused3

It's so cute especially the model with the pink hat!!

Whew!!!! This has to be the fastest moving thread on the DIS. I logged on and there are so many beautiful new outfits! Congrats ladies. My sewing room is almost done and then I'll start sewing again and hopefully have something to contribute!!!

Thanks! I've had those saved for awhile now. I just can't decide if they're worth $15 plus shipping. :confused3 Do they stay in pretty well?

I loved them too, I just don't want to pay that price. maybe a couple dollars cheaper might have convinced me!

I can't believe it. I just finished the most darling Minnie inspired top for my dd. It was absolutely stunning! The last step was to simply put a snap in it.

My DH has noticed my little sewing obsession lately and brought me home a new little gadget to feed my obsession--a snap plier tool kit (bless his heart--he wanted to do something nice). I'd always either sewed in my snaps or just done it the old fashioned way, but I wanted to give his little gift a try. So after giving it a few tries on scrap fabric, I was ready to try it on my darling little top. Well, it uses a soft rubber to hold the snap pieces into place which much to my distress shift when pressure is applied sending the snap prongs jutting out all over--ripping a HUGE dime-sized hole in my new top:eek: :sad1: I can't believe it. I'm so discouraged right now I could cry. It's beyond repair and I'm almost too discouraged to start it over again due to the bad memories. Maybe I'll remake the top after I've moved on to something else with better success. I just can't believe it, aside from the stupid snap, the top worked perfectly---130" of ruffle detailing and all. :sad2:

Can you maybe turn it into a buttonhole?

Okay ladies I'm going to bed. The website has 254 images and I'm only on page 58 of this thread  It make take a while to get them all there. After that I will organize them. But enjoy what is there for now :yay:

How did I do?

You did very good. I'm not even a beginer yet as I've only made some bows. They look alright not great. What directions did you use for the skirt? Did you glue or sew your appliques on the minnie outfit? Does anyone know of a good sewing machine that is very easy to use? Thanks.

That looks really good. Yours are good enough to make and sell on ebay.

try the apron top.... I designed my own pattern... I can't imagine paying anything for these tops...they are too easy..

ok, for those of us still on "dummy" level, can we have a crash course description of how you did this? im still struggling to follow a pattern, so "winging it" is NOT an option! youre so very talented and i give you a  for being able to look at something and create it!

Very elegant Elisa!!!

That is too cute!! I wouldn't attempt it without the hat, though! Adorable!

could you please give me the pattern number?

Someone posted this one last night -- and it's marked "very easy" which is always a plus for me. ;) http://www.butterick.com/item/B5019.htm

For anyone brave enough to attempt without a pattern (not me), there's a drawing of the finished piece on that URL. It's laid out flat so you can see how it's made. It looks pretty easy, but I am not that brave.

Castle -- I've seen the Mickey/Minnie fabric you used before (with the dots), but didn't buy any because I didn't know what to do with it. I love what you did with yours. Darn. Woulda/coulda/shoulda bought some myself! (how many times have I said that during the last week?!?!)

How do you all apply with applicays (sp?)? Do you have special machines? Or can I apply them with my regular machine? Just curious, I would like to make shirts for my girls before we go.

For the apron top, I know my dd's measurements, so that helps.
I measured the top part that goes across her chest, and for her that's about 9 inches. Then I measured from the top of the chest to where I want the top to end. Then I measured from the middle of her back, all the way around her, leaving as much slack that I would want in the top. Then I transposed these measurements onto the fabric so I had a square, Then cut the swoopy part for the armholes, so the unfinished piece looked like a boomerang...LOL. It's kind of difficult to explain.
Ps...I tried it on my dd this morning. It fit perfect except the straps were too long....So I will have to do a little seam ripping...Not too much though...thank goodness.

Thanks! Something happened to my other pics. I'm thinking I may have deleted them from photobucket, so now they are gone from here? Anyway the hat has matching pink cowgirl boots!

Thank you. Wasn't until after I posted that I remember so many people have issues with kids and guns. Even though it's only a "noise light up gun" and not a cap gun or anything. Plus her being the 6th and last grandchild after 5 boys, she dosen't stand much of a chance unless we put somekind of "weapon" in her hands:hippie:
