Here is the shirt I made. DD's at daycamp, so wasn't here to model it.

I used McCall's pattern 5135 if looking for older girls and the bottom was supposed to be V'd shape I guess it would be called (some parts of it lower than other parts) but I just could *not* understand the directions of how I was supposed to accomplish that with the way they had the fabric cut from the pattern. The back view shows better what it was supposed to look like than the front view. I think it would have been easier if I just started with a straight bottom & pinned more fabric up than others to get the same look. Oh well, I'm sure we will either modify this or make something completely different since we have some time to figure things out.

Here is the iron on patch I was thinking of adding to the white somewhere to give it more Disney flair
Cruellapatch.jpg

I was thinking of adding more paw print ribbon to the hem & then putting the Cruella iron on it. I don't know. In the pattern they have where you put ribbon in a V-neck formation starting at the shoulders & ending where the the 2 fabrics meet. I just thought that would be too busy looking if I did the paw print ribbon there with the polka dots. We decided we liked it plainer on the top anyway. My other thought was to add some red somewhere since the Villians all seem to have red somewhere on them too. Maybe where DD needs the neckline higher or even doing a plain red ribbon as a V neck decoration?

So there you have it. Not exactly Disneyfied but we had a concept we were going for anyway. :lmao: We just aren't happy with the results.

I just got these bows I ordered from eBay. They are so cute - really nicely made, too. Now we just have to make the outfits to match them! :rotfl:

How much did you pay for that pair, and please pm me the sellers name they are great!

I loooove this skirt!! Your daughter is precious :) . Is that your daughter? I just did an ebay search for Universal outfits and your outfit came up with the same little girl.

I finally finished catching up from when my DSL was out.... whew!!!! The posts add up quickly here! Anyway, I didn't want to attempt the multi-quote task so...

aksunshine - I can't believe all the stuff you made by hand! The only thing I did by hand was pillowcase dresses! Your outfits are outstanding and you can tell your dd loves them!

Now, just a few notes about what I've learned on this thread:

1) If you see Disney fabric at WM, Joann, Hancock, flea market... buy some, at least one yard! Why? Because you're gonna be reading this thread one day and see something made with it and you're gonna say "I saw that same fabric, and I wish I had bought some" Then you're gonna try to find it on ebay and end up paying $15 per yard!

2) All kids are entitled to custom Disney outfits, whether they be handmade or bought!

3) In addendum to #2... all DHs are not required to know about all of the $$ spent on said outfits! If they get word of any significant amount, brain freeze them with ice cream!!!! :rotfl:

4) If I can make pillowcase dresses, patchwork twirly skirts and halter tops... then anyone can do it! Aksunshine has even proven that you don't have to use a machine.

5) This thread is highly addictive and there should be a warning pop-up when you click on it!!!!

6) You may have laundry, dishes, dust, vacuuming, whatever to do instead of sewing. But guess what? It will still be there when you're done!!!!!!! AND even if you do clean instead of sew, everything is just going to get messy again! You might as well sew and have something to show for it, your house will not stay clean to show off at Disney World!!!!

:rotfl: That is SO me, ya know with the mess...

Awww.... Thank you!!!

How much did you pay for that pair, and please pm me the sellers name they are great!

I paid $11.99 for the pair, and maybe $3 shipping. I asked her to make me a smaller pair than what she usually has listed. They're just the right size, probably about 3 1/2" across. :thumbsup2

I think I PMd the seller's name to everyone who asked. Let me know if I missed....or is it OK to post it on here or is that a "no-no" :sad2: ?

I agree that some red would be the perfect touch along with Cruella.

I  it!! I'm gonna keep that in mind if we ever get around to going to Universal! I think we're waiting for the Harry Potter park to open, now that's a whole new wardrobe there!! :yay:

Not what I had in mind but a VERY VERY GOOD IDEA. It wont show dirt that way and I wont have to carry extra attachments. I am putting the fuzzy part (loop) on the attachment because the hook part doesnt get as dirty as fast (I was using white on the shoe but like the black idea better) PLus the loop part tends to wear out faster(become less velcro-y..not as strong) and if I am going to be changing them out daily it is going to take a lot of abuse. The hook part is plastic like and will hold up better. Tho it may catch on things easier you have to be pretty close to it for that to happen.
NOw I need to find TINY black velcro sticky dots. (May make my own and glue them on. ) Most of the attachments are only about 1.5" square if not smaller (she has little feet..lol)

Seeing the purple crocs with the cute MLP outfit made me thing of something else. It looks like there's quite a market for matching bows and matching jewelry for boutique items. Maybe there's an opportunity for someone to make/sell matching Jibbitz-type deals for Crocs. I know they sell Jibbitz-like things that you can add your own embellishment to for Crocs. They are like cufflinks and you could hot glue pretty much anything you want to them. You could wear the same white crocs with every outfit and just change custom jibbitz in and out.

I'm liking this idea! I've been wondering about that as well, if anyone tied ribbons to their crocs or something?

I recently made our own version of Jibbitz. My daughter saw a pack at Dicks' Sporting Goods but they were $10! No way am I paying that! So we made our own. I went to Joanns and bought some solid color small round buttons. DD wore her Crocs there so we could make sure they were the right size to fit through the hole. Then I got some decorative buttons that have the loop in the back. I just sewed the 2 buttons together and then slipped them through the holes in the Crocs. I just need to find Mickey, Minnie, etc buttons to make some for Disney.

I would like the seller too please. I must have looked an hour last night for them with no luck.
Thanks
Jen:)

You can attatch bows with an alligator clip, Korkers are cute too - here's a hair bow korker on an alligator clip attatched to dd's maryjanes

You could do "boutique bows" too!! Maybe scotchguard them so they stay clean?!

Just got done with this shirt for me. I figured moms can wear custom clothes, too, right!? :)

I had on this shirt the other day, minus any customizing of course, and thought this was the perfect shirt to do something like this to! I love it!

I guess you know its time to get off the computer and feed your kids when you 18 mo. old gets the cherrio box from the cupboard and TRIES to open it and dumps half the bag on the floor!!! YUMM!! Dinners ready....
