Here is my 2nd attempt at applique:

Arielapplique2.jpg

I like that picture, did you get it from a coloring book or freehand that?

Good luck on the face as I have no advice for you, I'm still too chicken to try applique!

I was able to snap some pictures. I hope you all like it. This was the first time I appliqued.

Wow. I'm super impressed that this was your first applique!

I'm also super-impressed with the new grown-up AK shirt. Good job.

I want to go see that vintage mickey fabric, but e-bay is blocked from work. Work ruins everything -- blah!

OK, I have been having an insane day, but seeing that pattern just made me laugh so loud my kids think there is something wrong with me! LMBO, that is hilarious, thanks for the laugh Teresa!

OK, you ladies have been really brutal today about the pictures...I know I said noon but my kids have been making me crazy! :upsidedow Here are a couple of pictures of the outfit:

(PLEASE do not copy my pictures of my DD...I am firmly in the camp that the pictures of our children that are being shared here should stay here. Not trying to be mean or start a huge discussion, just asking for your consideration. Thanks for understanding! :) )

So let me know what you all think, I gotta tell you this one of my favorites out of my recent designs! Minnie ears and bows, small world/epcot...all wrapped up into one outfit! I have struggled with what to put on DD when we visit Epcot and I think this will be perfect!

Dena

Hi Dena,
Did you make the necklace too?
Can you make one for me, LOL, I mean my dd?

Good Mornin' Ladies.

I will be there for the 20th. :thumbsup2 Are we meeting at the Hancock on Monroe in Sylvania? At what time? I only have till about 3 or 3:30 to play because we have rehab that day, but it's all good. :cool2: At first my husband didn't want me to meet anyone off the net, so I had to tell him how nice and wonderful all you ladies are and how you all have your kids with you. And that I would never try to put our kids in danger...yadda yadda yadda. Lets just say, I'll be there.

Will somone pretty pretty please (with whipped cream and a cherry - sprinkles too) pm me or post the names of the secret unmentionable word of the sellers from this board so I can check the auctions out, and mabye bid on some, If all of the other ladies don't outbid my cheap self.

Dena your Epcot outfit ROCKS ! ! ! As do all of your creations. Can we see a close up of your necklace and bows pretty please. You do some great bows too, check you out. Your daughter looks like a baby doll she is too cute. Can't wait to meet her and you too! :) I don't suppose that you would be willing to work on some outfits for a trade of movie theater tickets would you? I got the hook up, my husband is the auditor. Just let me know! (don't blame me, it's worth asking - :confused3 )

This is probaballly really a stupid question, but .... it polymer clay a special clay or is it the same clay my daughters play with, then baked in my oven? If so, how long and how hot do I bake it. I'de love to save some of my daughters creations...she actually has some pretty good ones that would make cute necklaces.

Robnkris, Go ahead girl, but that cheetah ribbon really makes me wanna pet your breastessess ..... no pun intended ... LOL :rotfl2:

Pixieshouse your sheet set is Darling. You did a super job it looks very professional. You could definatally sell you stuff on that online site!

Hkite your ariel is looking verry good. Don't give up. You have got it looking great. Mabye you could use some fabric markers for the small details. The smile should be relativly easy, right ( I wouldn't know because Im too chicken to try). Please show us when your done.

Have a good one everyone.

-Michelle

NO DON'T BID ON IT!! I'M the one winning it!! :woohoo: :lmao:

Linda

:guilty: Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't know anyone from here was bidding on it! It was just so darn cute, I just had to share. I just loved that fabric. And in case you were wondering I did NOT place a bid, since I can't sew :sad2:
It went for around $36.00 for 3 yards, that seems like a lot for fabric, not that I would know :rotfl:

So, sorry again :flower3:

hkite, the applique looks really good so far! I don't have any suggestions for the face since I haven't attempted anything like that yet.

Disneyworldmama, the JoJo outfit looks adorable on your daughter! The colors really suit her. I bet she loves it!

Twins+2 more, the polymer clay isn't like modeling clay, I don't think. I don't know for sure since my kids only play with Play-Doh and not clay, but I think it's a different substance. The polymer clay comes in small packages and is available in many different colors. It's less than $2/package. I bought a small combo pack on clearance that had all of the colors that I needed for JoJo and it cost around $3. I let my girls play with the rest of it and baked some of their creations. They came out very hard and not at all crumbley--totally suitable for jewelry or hair bows.

OK - here's my attempt at a multi-page multi-quote reply... I've always been afraid to try it for more than one page... :rolleyes1

ADORABLE!!!!

I haven't accomplished much in the way of sewing lately, but I did manage to get DD2's JoJo bow made. The JoJo face is made out of polymer clay.

Here's the last one I made.

How fun!! I admire peoples patience to do quilt/patchwork things! I can't ever get them lined up right!

I was able to snap some pictures. I hope you all like it. This was the first time I appliqued. It was pretty easy, then again it was a giant patch so it didn't 'move around on me! The applique is on a blanket for my toddlers bed

OMG! That's amazing! Your FIRST applique???

I'm officially addicted now. I made myself a shirt to wear to the Animal Kingdom.

Do you think I should add a Minnie Mouse ribbon to it? I don't know why, but I'm not in love with this one.

Too cute Krista! Great job! I like it as it is, but agree that you could pin a bow on top to see if you like it! Lots of people will pin their bows on anyway so it's easier to wash the outfits.

Not me, do you know what damage I could do to that cute fabric?:rolleyes1

:rotfl: mee too......... I can sew but out of practice right now. But to use that fabric and then messing it up would NOT be funny....

Whoever does win it, if it is someone here, I hope they share what they made with it!!!:thumbsup2

Good Mornin' Ladies.

Robnkris, Go ahead girl, but that cheetah ribbon really makes me wanna pet your breastessess ..... no pun intended ... LOL :rotfl2:

I do think the ribbon draws a lot of attention to the breastesses. I hope nobody really pets me! :rotfl:

OK, putting down the knitting needles (Damned afghan!) this weekend long enough to try to get DD's birthday Disney Cuties dress done. Changed my mind on the pattern, but need to make sure I have enough of the contrasting stripe to make a certain "twirly" style top I have recently run into a pattern for. Thinking about enlarging a cutie minnie face on the copier and making an applique for the bodice. I ain't skeered. I laugh in the face of applique-ing! Ha Ha Ha Ha. I'll post pics on Sunday. It has to be finished by then, her party is Wed. If there is no minnie face, assume that the applique went very wrong. Its a good possibility.

Keep your crafty fingers crossed for me.

AND, I've been trying to find a pattern for a 1920's style evening/flapper dress- you now something Roaring 20'sish and can't find a darned thing, so if you have or have seen LMK!

...t.

I was thinking the SAME thing!!! It looks like the fabric would have a "texture" and I would want to touch it!!! BUT all that aside!!! Thanks for posting because I showed the girls (we are going in Sept with the kiddos) and one is on her way AS WE SPEAK to buy us some tank tops!!!:rotfl:

Or at least that he's super hot!

Just kidding, wear your breastess emphasizing shirt w/ pride.:thumbsup2 I think it's win win- you made it AND it makes the girls look good. Who doesn't want that. As a matter of fact I'm thinking of making one for myself now- maybe it'll detract from my mid-section:rotfl: :rotfl:
