Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

OK! Now here is my problem. Normally I can get an outfit made in a day. I am just not feeling this one, I think because I am making it for a friends DD. Anyway, I am at a lost what I should use for the bottom ruffle. When I got the fabric at WM the only other fabrics that matched the Ariel was the purple and blue, now that I look back I wish I would have waited and at least found one more color.. So I can't make up my mind what color the bottom ruffle should be: blue, purple, or the Ariel print. I need to get this thing done. please help! :goodvibes jen

Jen, I'm trying to catch up on 6 pages of posts so this might have already been suggested, but I'm thinking red would look good since you've got the red rickrack on the straps. Awesome job, by the way!! The shorts are very cute too. I think I'm going to try a pair tomorrow, I found some old patterns from my mom.

Now that I've seen the photoshop pic that Robin posted, I still think red looks good, but maybe a narrower ruffle AND I would make sure to get as close to Ariel's hair color as possible. Just my $0.02!

Hmmm...apparently that didn't work. Does anybody know how to post pictures from Winkflash? Is it possible or do I have to create a brand new accont in Photobucket. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to go to the trouble of uploading my pictures again. They're already on winkflash. I'm just not sure why this isn't working.

I LOVE it! It is so stinking cute! Your daughter looks just like my good friend's daughter did when she was younger. Everytime I see her picture she makes me think of her daughter. Such a doll! :cutie:

I have been working on my Epcot outfit using that fabric (I even have the red w/ white dots!) but mine will never be that precious or cute. I did have the idea to add mouse ears to the kids heads but I was just going to use the "mouse ear" stickers/patches from the scrapbooking section. They came on the same sheet w/ the "Disney" patch.

I just want to say that I love all the outfits everyone posts. I don't always comment on them all because I have 3 little ones that limit my computer time. Thank you all for being so inspiring and willing to share. You're all so creative and talented.

Does anyone know of a pattern # for a dress similiar to Ariel's Pink Party Dress?

here are a few pictures of her to give you an idea

I've been looking for a couple months now at every pattern website and in-store book, and have found many that "might" work if I took the sleeves from this one, the bodice from that one, etc...but I'm not that confident of my sewing skills (I'm a great quilter, but clothes, well, not as much experience). She's a size 10/12. I've seen the Simplicity costumes, but even if I could handle resizing it, they are the mermaid costume or the wedding dress which she doesn't want. Picky kid! :rotfl2:

If I'm not mistaken, nanascustomcreations (She made the cute yellow, red, black twirl dress from the sheet fabric) made a Ariel pink dinner dress. Chek with her to be sure.

OK, I have been having an insane day, but seeing that pattern just made me laugh so loud my kids think there is something wrong with me! LMBO, that is hilarious, thanks for the laugh Teresa!

OK, you ladies have been really brutal today about the pictures...I know I said noon but my kids have been making me crazy! :upsidedow Here are a couple of pictures of the outfit:

(PLEASE do not copy my pictures of my DD...I am firmly in the camp that the pictures of our children that are being shared here should stay here. Not trying to be mean or start a huge discussion, just asking for your consideration. Thanks for understanding! :) )

So let me know what you all think, I gotta tell you this one of my favorites out of my recent designs! Minnie ears and bows, small world/epcot...all wrapped up into one outfit! I have struggled with what to put on DD when we visit Epcot and I think this will be perfect!

Dena

OMGosh Dena that is the CUTEST outfit ( I really need to learn how to sew).

Blessed Be ,
Tina

I've finally finished some projects and paid off my models. The first one is my favorite and my first attempt at a shirt. It looked really busy with the checkered fabric at first, but now I like it. What do you guys think?

The next one is my kids pirate outfits. My first attempt at shirring.

The next ones are for Easter Sunday. I'm making matching dresses for my DD and 2 DN's. I have two of them done, but feel like the first one needs something to spiff it up yet. Any ideas?

The last one is my final version of a pillowcase dress. It is actually meant for my DN who is much shorter than my DD. Does the shell applique actually look like a shell to you?

Wow, it has taken me a while to catch up since just this morning!

Here are the kids at the 4th of July parade with their matching outfits:

Here is the little princess with her outfit made from scraps:

100_1524.jpg

What a pain this was! I had trouble with the ruffles, the iron on and ribbon! Then while I was working I noticed a smell. I thought it was me at first, I had been at vacation bible school all morning, but then I realized it was the capris! The little stinker stuck the dirty pants back in her dresser and I didn't realize it until I had one ruffle halfway attached. One good thing came of it. She wouldn't wear these capris because they had buttons on the inside that irritated her. I covered the buttons with the leftover fleece princess fabric and she said it feels "comfy cozy." So it was worth all the aggravation, right?

I'm chuckling to myself about the smell! Great job on the outfits though! They all turned out great. Your kids are cuties!

Oh my gosh I just spit !!!! How did anyone ever think that was a way for a guy to look sexy? 'Cause by his pose, HE thinks he IS sexy!!!!

Thanks for the halteralls for my little girl. i will try to use that!

I know, when I found that pattern, I just knew I should share! "Hey baby, look at my sexy jumpsuit."

Okay I am just wondering why it said origionally posted by camping griswalds? That is me, but I didn't ask this. Are the boards going crazy??

I'v noticed this happening a few times lately, I don't know what's going on!

No No No!! Run, Run, Run away...run fast. This is an addiction, do not allow yourself to be sucked in! :rotfl2: Get out while you still can! Oh no, it's probably already too late, you made an outfit! Save yourself, get out now!

Seriously, you're going to start making clothes for kids you don't even have if you keep this up! We're all mad....the Mad Hatter even thinks we're nuts!

:rotfl2:

But...hey, really cute outfit! :cheer2:

Yes, listen to us, run while you can. It's too late for us, but SAVE YOSELF!!! And when you get out, call Hancock's and tell them to stock up on Disney fabric! :rotfl2:

OK, I have been having an insane day, but seeing that pattern just made me laugh so loud my kids think there is something wrong with me! LMBO, that is hilarious, thanks for the laugh Teresa!
I do what I can!

Dena

PHWEW!!! Thank goodness, I was getting tired of pouting all day! This is a fantastic outfit! I don't know how you do those appliques! I have yet to attempt one! Great job as always, Dena!

Enjoy them while they're young....one morning you'll wake up and wonder where these newly 11 year old kids came from! (Yep...I'm feeling very sad that my babies just turned 11)

 Aww, I know how you feel! My baby boy turned 15 a few weeks ago! HOW could this happen!!!???? :confused3 Three more years and he graduates. :sad1: I've told him that he does not ever need to move out of the house, I will fix up the basement for him and his wife! He jusr rolls his eyes at me though.

I haven't accomplished much in the way of sewing lately, but I did manage to get DD2's JoJo bow made. The JoJo face is made out of polymer clay.

This is SUPER cute! Great job! I had some of that clay once, I wonder what I did with it.

The "Friends Around the World" fabric was still at my local Hancock Fabrics as recently as a week ago. They had plenty. I've only ever seen it there.

Hmm, looks like you will be going to that meet up, huh?

Here you go... I was think the same thing! :thumbsup2

YEP! That was exactly the t-shirt I was thinking of! I think it would be perfect with that skirt.

It's too late. I'm already working on a second shirt for myself. I'll post it as soon as I'm done. I leave in less than 40 hours for 2 weeks at WDW and instead of packing, I'm making shirts!

OH NO!!!!!! It's too late!!!! Well, :welcome: to your new life!

If I'm not mistaken, nanascustomcreations (She made the cute yellow, red, black twirl dress from the sheet fabric) made a Ariel pink dinner dress. Chek with her to be sure.

I was thinking the same thing. She made the entire Ariel wardrobe, didn't she? Well, maybe not the sack thing she put on after she came out of the sea, but there were quite a few different outfits for Ariel that she made her grandaughter.

I've finally finished some projects and paid off my models. The first one is my favorite and my first attempt at a shirt. It looked really busy with the checkered fabric at first, but now I like it. What do you guys think?

I think they all look great! Your son isn't a little bit of a ham is he?? Too cute!

Great JoJo bows Angie! Did you make the clay JoJo yourself? Are you trying to give me a run for my money? :rotfl:

Ok ladies, I know I don't post much but I am a learker and have a few things to post as soon as I get the pictures taken ;) I have to say you have inspired me to start sewing again.

With that said, I have a Hancocks fabric here and am willing to pick up and ship the fabric to you.

I just called and they have the following. I can't find a pic on their website and I haven't seen it yet, but I think these are the fabrics people are looking for. PM me if you are interested.

Friends around the world 4.99yd (about 4-5 yards left)
Novelty Pirates Map 7.99 yd this is the one with the map and ships

I was able to snap some pictures. I hope you all like it. This was the first time I appliqued. It was pretty easy, then again it was a giant patch so it didn't 'move around on me! The applique is on a blanket for my toddlers bed

I also made a Pooh pillowcase for her little pillow

Not sure if this is a UK pattern or US pattern, but Simplicity 9902 has the dress for Ariel that you are looking for, you would just need to do the colors you want. Never worked with a UK pattern, so I really am not sure what the difference would be.

**Sorry, I meant to answer to THEPARSONS...that'll teach me to respond through my email instead of on the board. LOL!

My DS3 responded to the cars outfit, "whoa, that's cool! I wike it." So, I think it's a hit. I love the pirate outfits. Very cool:cool1:

I'm officially addicted now. I made myself a shirt to wear to the Animal Kingdom.

Do you think I should add a Minnie Mouse ribbon to it? I don't know why, but I'm not in love with this one.

WOW! I am officialy impressed! I can't believe that was the first time you appliqued! It looks very professional and very expensive! I love it!

I like it, but I do think a Minnie bow would be cute. Just pin it on, that way if you don't like, you can take it off.

She's probably been up all night working on my Jojo set.:rotfl2:
That would have been a better excuse than the one about the kids

Just kidding!

I looked through my pattern stash, and found this. So, I thought I would share!

I thought I'd also share this little gem!

There are some sites you can't host on and I think winkflash is one of them. Photobucket will definitely work :)

I wouldn't change a thing! Looks great!

I got a lot of this fabric at Hobby Lobby so I made two. I am going to try listing it on ebay to get a little extra money for my trip coming up in August.

Here's a few photos.

What do you think?

What pattern did you use for this cute little boy outfit? I know I have seen a few boys outfits on here before with this similar pattern but I have never seen what pattern is used. TIA
