Where's the love:love: Shout out to the gator fans out there:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Ya'll are just jealous because we are #1!! Obviously, I love the skirt. She'll wise up eventually and realize how gorgeous orange/blue are.;)

Hi Buffy...I knew you would like these...I may make something like this for my girls so DH will "accept" my newfound sewing addiction...poor guy...its going from bad to worse.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I would use the Ariel fabric on the bottom. Or,(or perhaps, and) incorporate the red rickrack on the bottom. You did a great job on all the outfits, but the Ariel is my favorite!

I agree with the ariel fabric and red rickrac. Good Luck! I hate having sewers block.

Here's one way to do it. When you come back to the thread on the main list on the Disney for Families board, there will be a little blue box with an arrow pointing down on it right before the name of this thread. Click that little blue box and it "should" bring you back to the last place that you were before you left the last time.

I can't get this to work consistently....it seems that if you post a response then it considers the page where your response is to be your last page...but sheesh, I'm still READING page 338 here, and yet the response will end up on page 365 or something, so it always lost pages which I didn't discover until I realized I had no clue what ya'll are talking about and had to go back to look, lol.

Here's what I got when I photoshopped it:

I was sooo looking for that color :lmao: If only I could find it! I am thinking of doing the Ariel fabric and the red ric rac. I might be going to Joann's later, but I don't want to get a flat red color for the bottom, the blue and purple are sparkle. I have some green like Ariel's tail in the straps, but I only have a little bit of it. Thanks so much for your help. Please feel free to still make comments on it. This is a top, she will have pants (I was thinking maybe jeans with ruffle bottom, and appliques). I like the red idea, I don't know if it will take to much away from the Ariel print though :confused3

You all have done great with the outfits posted in the last day or so. I love the twirl skirts, both Mickey and Gators. Love the stuff for older girls. I also love the Buzz Lightyear, Ariel and others...

If I've missed you it's not intentional. You girls are sewing really fast!:cool1:

Hard to know if the color is the right match online, but I did find a red sparkle cotton on ebay...

How odd that they didn't have the character bouncers at DL. We always run into them, and have had them take the character away right when we get to them.

Although I will agree that the people in the park are very pushy and cut in front of other guests all the time. Burns me every time a parent tells the kid to get in front of others so they can keep going.

I actually had a character, I think it was Daisy Duck, scold a child with her finger for cutting in line. She then took my two dd's by their hands and walked to a quite space and did quite a few pics with just them

I am so excited about this, bought five yards, haven't the slightest clue what to do with it!!!!

Oh...I love it!!! That's different than the one I have! The one I have is red with squares with the characters in it but I like this one better!!! Was this at Wal-Mart? I really don't need to spend more $$ on this but of course, the picture is going to force me too. :lmao:

OT - but still a sewing question...

Anyone know where I can get free patterns for doll clothes? Someone just gave DS a boy Cabbage Patch Kid, but he's nekkid!!!

He was really stinky (was from a smoking home...yuck) so I threw him in a pillowcase and washed him. So, he's much better to be around now. LOL But we need something for him to wear ASAP!!

The searches I did only yielded barbie/action figure patterns - and, obviously, those won't fit a CP Kid.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'll even make him a Disney outfit, IF I can find a pattern for pants and a top!

Ok, who else read this and immediately thought....use the pillowcase, make him a pillowcase dress?

Yep...it's official....I'm weird. :confused3

Can anyone venture a guess as to what sewing tool this is and what it's used for?

It looks like a mini-rotary cutter, except it has somewhat sharp points instead of a smooth "blade". It doesn't look like the blade can be changed. The blade is about 1/2".

I'm sure it's at least 30 years old, and has a red handle and the brand is Heart.

TIA!
Lisa

Way behind so someone may have already answered you, but it sounds like it's a tracing wheel........ used way back in the old days (yep...I was around then and learning to sew), when we had to put a piece of carbon paper between the pattern and the fabric and trace the marks for things like darts, and start and stop lines, some people even traced the sewing line, though I never did, I used the old masking tape on the machine trick, lol.

No, I won't reveal my age...let's just say it's been a long time since the fire marshall allowed me to have candles on my cake.

These are so cute, to bad my older two are to old for these. My youngest maybe could use a cute pair of bibs or short bibs for he MNSSHP..

Put down the mouse and step quietly away from the computer, ma'am... :rotfl2:

Dresses, gowns, buntings I can all find. But it's a BOY doll! LOL - no pillowcase dresses! Still looking for tops and pants/shorts patterns. (or waiting for the Butterick patterns to go on sale again!) I did find one for a small doll (pants) that I tried to modify. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. Maybe it's just because the cabbage patch kid doesn't have a butt! :lmao: I cut some of DS's old jeans up and made him a pair of jean shorts with the pattern. And I got a onesie and cut the bottom off (too long) and made him a matching Mickey t-shirt... At least he has some clothes on now! LOL
I'll post a picture later - my camera is charging right now. (left it off the base too long)

Oh boy... where to start! I love the expression on that little girl with the skirt. too cute! I tried to multi quote, but it's just taking too long to load. The care bear outfit is cute. The first outfit I made for my daughter didn't have button straps (they were ribbon). Love the customs from the DISer that just got back, next time you will have to talk DH into a custom for each day!

Dena and Nanascustomcreations needs to get their stuff on Ebay. I keep on looking

As far as the character thing goes, I understand they have to go when they have to go. When we were there in April DD wanted really bad to hug Minnie. All the way through the slow moving line we got to hear about how she was going to hug Minnie. We finally get up there, we are next and Minnie has to leave. When she finally came back DD had almost lost her nerve to go up there. I felt bad for DD, she didn't understand why Minnie was leaving when it was her turn. We got the pics though :goodvibes

The thing about keeping track of where you are, when I stop reading I put the page in my "favorites" at the top in the tool bar. Then I just click on my favorites, scroll down and I am right where I left off. :goodvibes

;) Thanks! I would like to get it done this weekend though. I think I will check out Joann's tonight to see if anything jumps out at me. DH says he doesn't like the idea of Ariel with the ric rac, but I am thinking... I might not care what he likes :lmao:

Oh, gosh can I understand that! It's driving me nuts waiting for my Mickey buttons. (at least I did hear from the seller - they're being shipped today)

You should have had one of us get them for you and ship them out! Lessons learned girly! :flower3:

Hmm, I think the Ariel fabric with the Ricrack, like the straps would look better. Thanks Robin, for the visual, you are good!

eta: It seems like the red is drawing attention away from the Ariel fabric, instead of complimenting it.
