Ok Ladies~ before I get caught up I need your help!! But first I wanted to show you the shorts I made the other day and said I would post. Just a note, my daughter is wearing the short, but they are for her slightly bigger cousin.

I think If I would have made them four panels like all other shorts are they wouldn't have wings...lol

OK! Now here is my problem. Normally I can get an outfit made in a day. I am just not feeling this one, I think because I am making it for a friends DD. Anyway, I am at a lost what I should use for the bottom ruffle. When I got the fabric at WM the only other fabrics that matched the Ariel was the purple and blue, now that I look back I wish I would have waited and at least found one more color.. So I can't make up my mind what color the bottom ruffle should be: blue, purple, or the Ariel print. I need to get this thing done. please help! :goodvibes jen

I'm thinking the Ariel print would be nice at the bottom. That is only my 2cents though:yay:

Oh...I love it!!! That's different than the one I have! The one I have is red with squares with the characters in it but I like this one better!!! Was this at Wal-Mart? I really don't need to spend more $$ on this but of course, the picture is going to force me too. :lmao:

Yep got it a t Walmart, and today I saw it in another walmart! If yours dosen't have it, I'd love to get you some and maybe do a fabric swap? I'd love to see your fabric!!!

Wow, it has taken me a while to catch up since just this morning!

Here are the kids at the 4th of July parade with their matching outfits:

Here is the little princess with her outfit made from scraps:

What a pain this was! I had trouble with the ruffles, the iron on and ribbon! Then while I was working I noticed a smell. I thought it was me at first, I had been at vacation bible school all morning, but then I realized it was the capris! The little stinker stuck the dirty pants back in her dresser and I didn't realize it until I had one ruffle halfway attached. One good thing came of it. She wouldn't wear these capris because they had buttons on the inside that irritated her. I covered the buttons with the leftover fleece princess fabric and she said it feels "comfy cozy." So it was worth all the aggravation, right?

Are these by personalpizzazz? She's given me permission to share her ID. She did this set for my DD.

WOW - those are AWESOME shirts! My DDs would love those (they love the cheetah print!). But, oddly enough, ours weren't made by personalpizzazz!

I looked through my pattern stash, and found this. So, I thought I would share!

So, just enlarge these little pictures and change the top to a halter, and there you go!

I thought I'd also share this little gem!

Oh my gosh I just spit !!!! How did anyone ever think that was a way for a guy to look sexy? 'Cause by his pose, HE thinks he IS sexy!!!!

Thanks for the halteralls for my little girl. i will try to use that!

Yes, this is the way to do it.

Make sure you overlap your elastic onto itself about a half inch or so, then sew it twice, once near the beginning of the overlap, and once at the end. This helps the elastic to lay better in the casing, and there won't be a bump as you would if you just sewed the ends together like a regular seam.

Okay I am just wondering why it said origionally posted by camping griswalds? That is me, but I didn't ask this. Are the boards going crazy??

Thanks for all the compliments on DD and the Twirly skirt.. It really isn;t that hard.. It just took me a long time since Ihave never attempted anything like it! It has an insane amount of squares it took - I think 159 4 inch squares.. There are some mistakes but all in all for a first attempt I am excited... Now I am going to pick your brains.. What should I do for a shirt?

:laundy: :laundy: (This is from the Stinker!)

How about the ribbon shirt that someone posted a few pages back. The one that has a mickey head on the end of each ribbon, but there is like a black ribbon, a yellow ribbon and a red ribbon, each with a mickey head? It would tie in so cute with the colors of the dress!

I've been lurking on this thread for months and I don't even have kids. I just dream of all the outfits I'm going to make my future daughters.

No No No!! Run, Run, Run away...run fast. This is an addiction, do not allow yourself to be sucked in! :rotfl2: Get out while you still can! Oh no, it's probably already too late, you made an outfit! Save yourself, get out now!

Seriously, you're going to start making clothes for kids you don't even have if you keep this up! We're all mad....the Mad Hatter even thinks we're nuts!

:rotfl2:

But...hey, really cute outfit! :cheer2:

OK, I'll have to check. We have 2 Wal-Marts near us, so easy enough to check. I took a picture of my fabric but the battery needs to be charging, so I found it on-line at Jo-Ann's (Called "Rudolph Allover-Red")

OK, I have been having an insane day, but seeing that pattern just made me laugh so loud my kids think there is something wrong with me! LMBO, that is hilarious, thanks for the laugh Teresa!

OK, you ladies have been really brutal today about the pictures...I know I said noon but my kids have been making me crazy! :upsidedow Here are a couple of pictures of the outfit:

(PLEASE do not copy my pictures of my DD...I am firmly in the camp that the pictures of our children that are being shared here should stay here. Not trying to be mean or start a huge discussion, just asking for your consideration. Thanks for understanding! :) )

So let me know what you all think, I gotta tell you this one of my favorites out of my recent designs! Minnie ears and bows, small world/epcot...all wrapped up into one outfit! I have struggled with what to put on DD when we visit Epcot and I think this will be perfect!

Okay, I'm supposed to be working..but I started searching online for patterns cause I just am NOT happy w/ anything from the main pattern companies for girls just now.. I found some European companies and am having "i need that pattern" convulsions. NOw I just have to figure out how to do the whole European pattern thing, seems like a pain in the but what with the tracing and figuring out the seem allowances and all.
Not to mention I haven't really been sewing too long.
...t.

I LOVE the Euro patterns. I'm *so* addicted. I'm always on the lookout for patterns that add that "extra special touch" and Euro patterns often do this for me. If you're pretty new to sewing though, I'd suggest trying to find some American ones that appeal to you first (maybe check out YCMT) and use some really fun fabrics for a great look. When you get a bit more comfortable at sewing--go ahead and give Euro a try. They're loads of fun and come together beautifully, but they often don't have very detailed instructions (to say the least) for beginners. You have to be a little more comfortable and sewing intuitive because at times, you really have to wing it a bit. I use a compass (the little metal geometry tool) set to 5/8" to trace the pattern pieces w/ seam allowances onto freezer paper. It works for me!

Oh my goodness -- this is AWESOME. DD is standing behind me and when I scrolled down she started yelling "YES YES YES" I assume that is a good thing.

That's the Epcot outfit? My daughter saw it and said it looks perfect to wear to It's a Small World and can I make one for her, pretty please? I just laughed and said no, Mommy cannot make something like that!

Looking at it again, I guess I could make something like that but definitely not the faces! I'm trying to think of the perfect adjective to describe it: I think it's totally perfect!

Dena are you going to let your daughter wear it, or are you gong to list it for sale? It is awesome and your daughter is precious!

Beautiful work Dena
Can someone pretty please tell me what store I can find this material, actually any of the around the world fabric. I really don't want to buy it off of Ebay.

I love the 4th of July outfits! I knew there was a reason why I don't throw away my scrap material, looks great!
