Alright couple questions because I've asked my mom to teach me to sew. This should be interesting. I've never wanted to but she doesn't always want to make stuff for me and I thought I'd give it a whirl....
First, Does anyone else spend ten minutes trying to figure out what page they last left off on???I mentally note the page # but I have yet to remember what it was when I get back to the computer.
Also I noticed some of you have fabric stashes. I understand this concept I've got into hairbows since I had my 1st baby girl and you should see my stash already. (I buy lots of the basic ribbons and enough of the fun accent ribbon to make 3 or 4 extra bows because I do intend to sell them in the fall when the kiddos go back to school)However when you find fabric you like how much do you buy of it??? I have no intention of selling my outfits so I can't imagine buying a whole bolt but how much should I pick up. What's a typical amount I would need for an outfit??? I've been to some fabric stores and I understand the addiction I've picked up a few I like already but I've only bought a yard or two (okay I did buy 5 yards of minnie dots)
Thanks for all the advice.

I usually buy 2-3 yds. I have a sew now stash and also maybe I'll have grandkids one day stash. The grandkids stash is,of course,my Disney stuff.

It's frustrating when things don't go right, especially if it's the machine's fault! Have you tried sewing buttonholes with a close together zigzag stitch? I've done that when the buttonholer wasn't cooperating with me. Mark on the fabric where the buttonhole should be, the whole thing, just draw a straight line. Then, set your machine to zigzag down one side with really close together stitches (you might want to practice on a scrap to see what width and length looks best) then at the bottom of your marking, set your stitch width wider to go across the bottom of you buttonhole marking and the stitch length to zero so you are sewing a few stitches in the same spot. Then, turn the fabric around and do the other side. (Hope that made sense!)
I've added you to my favorite sellers already!! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Where did you get the plastic princesses? Plastic Princesses, that sounds weird. Maybe a good name for a band, though.
