You asked, so yes, I think it is excessive. 80% of what I buy for DD comes from Target, Kohls or KRU (I am going to miss them when they close). I try to buy stuff at the end of the season for the following year and that saves a bunch, too. The only time I splurge is when we go on vacation in Door County. There is a wonderful little boutique there and I usually buy her one or two outfits from Le Top. They last forever and when I resell them on eBay, I generally get 1/3 to 1/2 of the value back.
We could afford for me to go and shop like that, but really, I just can't see it. What happens when those expensive clothes get stains or rips? And I think the accessories are more for you than her IMHO.
