We will be eating at the Garden Grill for dinner in May. We've never been there before.

Our kids will be 10, 8, 6, 5, 11mos. [Obviously 11 mos. is free.] My mom, husband and I round out the group.

So - we will be paying for 4 adults and 3 kids. [Ten year old is adult.] He also has food allergies, so I know we have to have special conversations prior to our trip and when we arrive at the restaurant.

My question is, if my 8 year old son polishes off his kid's meal, is it acceptable to let him eat some of my meal? I am not looking to do anything dishonest or even somewhat slimey. But I am trying to imagine if we went to dinner at Longhorne Steakhouse, or Olive Garden, or something. I would not hesitate there to offer him one of my ravioli, or a piece of my chicken, if he was still hungry after eating his whole meal. Do any of you have experience in this, and/or could you anticipate the response from Disney? Would that be frowned upon?

Our most recent WDW trip was 2007 and that was the first time we ever ate at TS restaurants. I sort of prefer CS with the kids, especially when they were littler.

Thanks in advance! ♥

I'm pretty sure you can allow your 8 year old to eat anything on the table. Garden Grill is an all you can eat family style restaurant. You can ask for more of anything and share it, be it the children's selections or the adult selections.

We went in 2007 and 2009 with various aged kids (9, 11, 12, 14 & 15 in 2007 and 4, 7, & 16 in 2009) and everyone was welcome to eat from whichever menus/platters they preferred. They were fine with bringing me a kids' dessert since I'm not a big berry fan and gladly brought refills of everything we wanted - no matter who was eating it! :thumbsup2

We are going in May too and I have been wnodering the same thing!!! Thanks for the answers! :)

Thanks for the input.
So basically, you are paying for the kid by the age and they can eat whatever.
Good to know.

Yes indeed. Last visit our then 7yo DS wouldn't touch any of the kids stuff except a few french fries. He even asked for extra flank steak, and they happily brought it to him :thumbsup2
