OK--hubby ended up in the ER Thursday morning in EXTREME pain with his second kidney stone (first was 10 years ago). It's just above his bladder, about 4mm (with 4 more in the kidney!!). The first one had to be surgically removed, so we REALLY want this one to pass. He's been chugging water/cranberry juice for two days. Any good ideas for breaking this thing down? (Yes, we've already seen a doctor; yes, we'll follow up with the urologist; we just want to get rid of this thing over the weekend!!)
(Just a side note. . .we've heard the beer remedy, but we don't drink alcohol at all, so that's out.)

.. his last one was just a few weeks ago and it was right above his baldder also and was 3mm ... after he received the good ol' morphine shot in the ER he felt much better and was released with a prescription for Percocet ... however, he just continued to drink a lot of water for the next few days and thankfully, he felt nothing else ... he didn't even have to take anymore pain meds ... we have learned that once the stone gets into the bladder, the worse is over ... so I would suggest to just continue to drink a lot of water ...

Usually pacing and swearing, or rolling around on the bed and swearing are my preferred methods for dealing with a kidney stone attack.
