The 26th. Memorial Day Weekend in retrospect was not a good weekend as far as guest attendance but as far as the Torah portion, it's perfect for Chloe which is what matters. Plus she's elated to have less people. She's even incorporated Disneyland into her d'var Torah. http://www.myjewishlearning.com/practices/Ritual/Torah_Study/Preparing_a_Dvar_Torah.shtml Just in case people aren't familiar with a d'var Torah. ;) :goodvibes

Thanks for the link...it was interesting to read since I had no clue what d'var Torah is. It sounds like a lot of preperation! Does she give it in front of a lot of people?

How cool that she incorporated disney......she must really be your child.:rotfl:

The d'var Torah is basically a persuasive essay but longer and with the intent to make you think. Gabby's was on gay rights and human dignity. It was fabulous. Chloe's is about making things holy and special and how do we do that when we've got so much stuff and access to stuff. www.jewfaq.org is a better site but that one came up first in Google.

Her service will last about 2.5 hours. It's a full Shabbat service with her service added in. She reads a lot of Hebrew and chants it too. It's really neat. Our rabbi is amazing. At Gabby's, I'd say 99% of our guests weren't Jewish with about 70% of those being LDS. He explained everything beautifully so no one felt lost, except during the Hebrew of course.

:figment: 148 days until WDW!!!! :figment:

Our outbound flights dropped about $75 each. Using our SW points, we'd only have to pay for one ticket OOP. I am not sure if I should book or not. Anyone know SW's policy on using points to book and credits if the flight price drops?

The only bummer is that we won't land until 9 pm which won't allow much AoA time. Argh!!! What to do??

The days are evaporating!!pixiedust:

Hey ya! How are you? Did you read about the ridiculously large hike in Disneyland AP prices? :faint: Something like 17%.

The days are evaporating away. Sometimes I find myself wishing away summer. I have to stop myself because right after WDW will come the long hard cold Utah winter. I plan on making the most out of every minute this summer.

By this time next week, the BIG day will be over, we'll be relaxing, and M will be leaving for Africa in the morning. Crazy time right now.

Good Morning Jenny!
Did you book your SW flights?
How are the plans coming along?

Hey girl. Haven't seen you around much. Getting ready for this school year to end? I am! :cool1:

I didn't book the flight and could kick myself. With our points we would have only had to buy one ticket with really money. I'm mad at myself. I hesitated and when I went back, the lower points price had gone up over 4,000 miles/points per ticket. I hate when I do that!

How's your planning? I'm trying to get a grasp on how Fantasyland is going to look during our trip. Are they building a whole new FL? Or just refurbing a lot or a combo?

Hope you're enjoying your weekend. :goodvibes

I have been so busy with work. We have 24 more school days and so many end of the year events. I can't wait for summer. I  summer!

I'm sure the prices and points will go down. Check on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Prices drop midweek.

I've been planning. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to work Universal into our plans. I want to visit Islands of Adventure, but may venture over to the other park as well.

I'm not sure what's going to be open in FL and what will still be under construction. I'm just hoping some of those walls are down.

Have you read the rumors about River Country DVC? I'm wondering if it will be like the THV. I am dying to see the floorplans of the GF DVC units.

Wonderful explanation, thank you!!!!

K might be in Utah in a couple of weeks for a tournament, lots of soccer changes and drama over here but thought I'd check in and see if there is a big one you know of coming up!

Everything is good!

The price hike is crazy ridiculous! I think you will find a drop in APs because of this.

I know you are looking forward to next week. Such an exciting time in your home right now.

I understand that your excitement over your trip coming up is slightly tarnished by the desire to enjoy your summer. I want summer to be fun and then time can go fast in the fall!!

River Country DVC? Haven't seen a thing! Link or info please. Where would they put it? I think between the VWL and THV they may have tapped that market but who knows? I'm enjoying the Poly DVC expansion rumor.

When are GFV set to be completed?

Is your dessert package all set? What did you finally decide?

Thanks! I'll check flight on tues and wed. I get the kayak daily alerts but they don't include SW.

We've got a ton of tournaments coming up, Avalance, Wasatch, Park City's.....do you know the name or date? We've got a lot of changes too. Gabby's coach is quitting. :headache: Josh is being recruited to a new club. So glad it falls on me as tryouts are when M is traveling. ;)

Everything is good!

Think you'll renew your pass? I read they are trying to discourage more APs by the price increase but from a profits standpoint, I'm not sure how that is a smart move?? :confused3

I'm not sure. I think that I will hold off on the decision until closer to when they expire. I don't see where this will help their profit either, I think that it will keep a percentage of people away from the parks.

I guess their theory is that AP holders don't spend as much in the parks which may be true for true So Cal residents but as Utah AP holders, we spent a ton. My guess is the same for anyone who has to travel and stay in a hotel. Maybe the local AP numbers are out of hand? But, if that were the case, then I'd think they'd do away with the payment plan. If I lived in CA, I'd be all over that.
