:faint: $900 a night for a standard room? Supply and demand. But you know what? You're going to love the GCH. It's beautiful especially during the holidays. :cloud9:

Wow, now that's a hotel girl. And you were even thinking about the cabins. :rotfl2:  I'd never leave. The service must be terrific. :thumbsup2

Fa sho! And M just left for a Land's End job. The kids and I had 9 days on vacation, then one day home with M, and now we've got a week together. That's a whole lot of each other. ;)

Oh I meant about $900 extra for the 5 nights if we want a DCA view. A standard room at the GCH will be $2675 for 5 nights. A room with a DCA view will be $3450 for the 5 nights. It's actually $775 more. I have to figure out if we want to spend that extra $$$ on a view. I've looked into concierge theme park view, but I'm not sure if some extra snacks and continental breakfast is worth it.

I've heard good things about the Ritz. A friend recently spent a weekend at the Ritz in White Plains, NY for her husband's birthday. She said it was the best 2 night stay ever. They had some issues with housekeeping. Her husband filled out one of those survey cards and mentioned the housekeeping problem. Well, the hotel manager called them and offered a complimentary weekend stay to make up for the poor housekeeping. Amazing!

Your husband is a busy guy! Traveling for work must be so great. I WISH I could.

Hi Jenny!

I am good! Thank you for asking. How are you?

It doesn't seem that your trip report started that far out now.:rotfl: At the beginning it seemed so far out.

:tink: 5 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 185 days until WDW!!! :figment:

We dyed eggs on Easter. The Easter bunny hid plastic eggs with candy inside. I'm tired of Passover food already. :lmao: My DH grew up observant so there's no bread, pasta, or rice in my house until the weekend...

Less than a week until your ADRs!

Amanda

You're good! :thumbsup2 We're not that good. We had pizza last night. Generally Utah doesnt carry much more than matzah. I was shocked at the Passover selection when we were in Arizona. :cloud9: They had Lay's potato chips that were good for Passover. :faint: We did have a lovely Community Seder though.

He travel for his second job. ;) Luckily his firefighter schedule allows for it. :thumbsup2 Only 3.75 years until he retires from the FD. We're counting down.

I bet the Ritz is like the Nordstrom of the hotel industry. That is amazing!

The view is totally worth it especially with little ones. The WoC is going to be a madhouse for you guys, I'm guessing for a decent view, you'll have to line up a good 2-3 hours before. No joke. It's a good hour in the off season. If you have a DCA view you'll at least be able to view the water and lights and hear the music perfectly. You may not have a good image of the projections but it's still amazing. Makes the Bellagio water show look like a kiddie splash park.

I'm glad your good. :goodvibes Any decisions on your Thanksgiving trip?

I'm good. Michael is gone again, you saw the kitty issue, and work is nuts. I'm a crisis away from being my own patient. :rotfl2:

Yes, we are going November 11 through November 16. My sons bffs family is joining us. We are staying at the Ayres again and I started a trip report.:rotfl:

I hope the kids take it easy on you while Michael is gone. Good luck on the kittys.

^^^^^^ That post above is not from me not is the quoted post even in this thread. :upsidedow Seriously, what the heck is going on here? Mods?

:tink: 4 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

I swear I replied but this place is going  as you can see from the posts above that aren't from me or even in this thread. :scared1:

Something weird is definitely going on here!

Are you making a countdown calendar? I'm debating if I want to do one this year.

The boards are wackadoodle today!!

That is an understatement. I'm seriously quoted saying things I never posted. Hope I don't get points meant for someone else. ;)

We were, we started, but with Chloe's bat mitzvah so close, we might wait until after and do a 100 day countdown. :thumbsup2 I've got over 500 Mickey head paint samples. :rotfl:

It's so weird to me how 6 months and 180 days aren't the same. :upsidedow

Have to get with Jenna this weekend about our ADRs. I think we're planning the Turf Club and Be Our Guest together, plus tri tip in a THV.

It's getting closer.

It's all getting closer. Chloe's bat mitzvah is in 6 weeks and I'm just getting the invites out. I ordered the wrong tissue not realizing Michael made her invitations so BIG! ;) Plus I had to order 50 more invites and I underestimated. I'm sure her anteeds will be less as we really have no Jewish family other than our congregation and it's Memorial Day weekend.

Me too. Do they have a guesstimation?

The best I've heard is 'fall 2012'. That could mean anything. BUT there was a link I saw not long ago about a group that is going specifically to celebrate Epcot's anniversay. On 9/29, their MK day, it says group ride on Little Mermaid meaning that part of the expansion will be complete by then. I don't know if that's just wishful thinking or they know something we don't!

Wow her Bat Mitzvah is so close!
Are you ready?

No. Not at all. Greeting her prepared has been quite labor intensive compared to Gab. One is not better persay but Gab was just more into it which allowed me to focus on my Torah portion and the luncheon etc....Geeting Clo to concentrate for more than 5 minutes is painful. Love her guts but this isn't her thing. We offered to let her do it next year and even not at all (not a big pusher of religion) but she said she wanted to do it. :cutie:

Ooooo......who is the group-in-the-know? I hate that they won't even give a guess so we can make ADRs. I get that it might not happen that exact date but if they're planning on September, they could take October ADRs or whatever. I wonder what the menu will be. I hope it's something family style like LTT and not like CRT. We hated their food.

I'm sure Chloe will pull it together. I've seen it with students. The ones that you think will NEVER be prepared for a test/performance/etc., are the ones that are the most together on the day of.

What does your portion involve? Is it a reading?
Are you catering the luncheon? Or are you cooking?

We're not catering all of it. It's a light luncheon; bagels, shmear, tuna salad, egg salad, lox, capers, onion, tomatoes, picked herring for the old peeps :scared1:, fruit, desserts, grape juice, and wine basically. We'll have it outside at our very small synagogue. Gabby's we did in our home last year as the weather was iffy, mid April, but we should be good outside in late May.....crossing fingers.....:wizard:

I hope you're right about her being prepared. I want her to enjoy the entire journey, including that day and I think she'll enjoy it more if she's prepared.

My portion is in Hebrew too. It's chanted. :faint:

I think it's called WDW Celebrations. I'll try to find the link. I've heard that with most new restaurants, they'll open ADRs a month or two in advance. It's going to be a difficult ADR to get if that's the case. I'm not sure what kind of food they'll have. Maybe French since that's where the story takes place? Similar to Les Chefs?
