Do you check out the SSR lovers thread? Great tip on a location request on a recent THV report, they used the main SSR buses it sounds like instead of catching it at THV and it sounds like it worked really well for them. Nice comparison of THV pool to the new paddock one as well (crowd wise).

I dunno, I have a feeling we will be ending up with a split. It's pretty spotty. I've started checking and I think getting it on the weekend will be tough. Which actually is probably fine, it will be more crowded on the weekend. Problem is our dates are Weds - Tues. My unscientific prediction is we get it wed-fri and then have to stay at VWL sa-mon but that friday is a bit of a wildcard. If we can at least get that and waitlist the rest, I'm good with it. Heck, I'm good with whatever, VWL would be fine for all 6 nights as well.

It may well impact my trip though as Mary Ellen is the 17th-23rd and I was tentative only doing the 18th-23rd but might tweak my bates based on what we get. 5 nights away is easier to sell Jeff on than 6. :rotfl:

I'll have to go look. I just posted a question about bell services and the THV but generally don't pour through those super threads. Looks like I should though. Thanks for the tip!

I can't tell you how truly excited I am to be staying there. :woohoo: Michael last night said: I knew we'd end up there but I was just wondering how long it would take for you to insist. :rotfl2: He knows me so well. He travels way more than I do so I'm refusing to feel guilty. It was 3-2 fair vote anyway. ;)

We'll overlap your whole trip so even if I miss the official meet, I'd love to meet up. We need to have a drink!

So you haven't bought your flights yet? I haven't either. I applied for that SW 50,000 points cc. It will buy all 6 flights I think.

I think you're right about it being extra busy at both the Epoct resorts and F&W on the weekends. I've read it can get pretty unruly with locals. Sounds brilliant. :thumbsup2

Keep me posted! popcorn:: Our change date is close.

Hey Jenny! So I'm back from my brief stay in Layton/Kaysville and as you know, this was my first visit to Utah. OMG, it is just beautiful! :cloud9: The mountains are majestic and the people are SOOOO nice! Wow is all I can say to Utah! Unfortunately my flight home was a nightmare as I got delayed in Denver because of weather in PHILLY! Did you get the snow storm they were talking about on Wednesday afternoon?

Now, can you please catch me up? Your going to keep the THV's is that correct? Then try for AKV CL? I'm a bit confused now what your going to try to change to! It's soo close! I can't wait to see what you do!

I just read a post on the mousecellaneous board and someone posted about free dining. That will happen during our trip, now I'm nervous as heck! Have you or any of the other posters on your thread eaten at TRex in DTD? My sister-in-law submitted it as a "plan B" should we not get a reservation that we want. I've never eaten there so I was curious what others thought.

Jenny! How are you feeling?
After a busy week, I'm ready to relax and catch up on the DIS.
And I need to call DVC in a bit...

How is the planning going?

:goofy: 11 days until 7 month booking!!! :goofy:

:tink: 46 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 226 days until WDW!!! :figment:

I'm so glad you like Utah. The people are very friendly!

Yes, we've decided to keep THV and in 11 days :hyper: I'm going to change half to the AKV and hoping for CL but will stay there either way. I'm trying to decide in how many days to split for. At this point I'm think THV for 5 days and AKV 6 due to the way I've got our park days and water days planned. I definitely want to be at a water park on moving day.

I haven't eaten at T-Rex but believed they are owned by the Rainforest Cafe folks. Good food, a little better than your typical chain but with a cool theme. The kids will love it!! We went in and the kids made dinosaurs just like at Build a Bear.

:goodvibes We decided to stay the the THV. :woohoo: I finally just told Michael I wanted them, the kids wanted them, and with the point allocation increase, it makes sense to stay this year. He laughed and said he knew we'd stay there and he was just tormenting me. :rotfl2: Love him! :lovestruc

How's your planning coming?

Yay for THV!!! Are you doing a triple split? Or THV/AKV combo?

My planning is coming along SLOWLY. I need to book a night at a hotel in D.C. Looking for that now. Also, I need to buy Hersey Park tickets this weekend.

Split fa sho but no triple. :cool1: Well unless I can score CL for at least 3 nights but I won't move for less. I'm beyond excited! I've wanted to stay in those damn treehouses since I saw them being refurbed in 2009 and one of my main reasons for buying at SSR. I think it will work great to be there at the beginning of the trip when we've got the personal grill and more groceries. It's more remote so I don't see us trekking to the main house for lots of snacks. At AKV when supplies are low, Mara and access to the store will be a great benefit. :thumbsup2 We'll make use of that fabulous grill with a tri tip spectacular with Jenna's family. Love WDW with them. Our wacky families just mesh. :grouphug:

Now of course, all of this goes to pot if CL is available at the beginning and we end at THV. :lmao:

When are you going to Hershey Park? When are you going to DC? You've got a ton of traveling coming up. Lucky girl!

It is close! 50,000 points will get you all 6 flights? Wow, their points must be quite a bit different than others. It would get you one, maybe 2 flights on Alaska. SW doesn't do Orlando from here. Air Tran does but they haven't been the cheapest in the past, I've actually never flown them. We typically do Delta or Alaska to Orlando, with United as our last choices. I am hoping to have enough miles for my ticket. I've heard the same thing about the locals. :rotfl: I honestly don't recall that when we were there in 2004 but then again, have no real concept of whether we were hitting it week nights or weekends...though we ended up there most nights for dinner!

::yes:: I think it said 48,000 points but maybe it was just one way? I'll have to double check. They charge a $10 fee per flight. So worth the $99 fee to have the card. If I could score that and add it to the YES tickets savings and staying DVC, I'd almost be making money. ;)

I love Delta but SW gives you 2 bags free still. We'd have a stop but that's okay.

Shoot, you're correct, I was looking one way. and thinking it was $14,800 for all 6 one way tickets. It's that much per one way. Oopsie. it would be $175,000 points. Looks like I need to get us each our own cc with SW.

:cool1: YAY 10 days for you! I think you're plan sounds great. I like the CL move if you can get it for atleast 3 days, seems like a lot of work to move/split so you'd need to make it worth it if you're going to do it and AKV CL would definitely be worth it!

Are the kids as excited to see what happens?

Thanks, yes they are super excited. I told them AKV might be full so to be thinking about another choice. They said they know I'll get us in there.......no pressure. It looks open though at both Jambo and Kidani for a 2 bedroom SV so I think we'll be good. I've got a friend dumping a few nights of CL at AKV which gives me hope that others will too to try to be near Epcot as its F&W.

How's your planning coming? Any word from the peanut gallery? ;) Your trip,is closer than ours, you must very excited!

Any plans to come back and visit Utah. I make fun of it a lot but it really is beautiful and there's a lot to do. Sober.

Your split is going to be terrific. The THV look amazing. And you'll get to stay before the reallocation starts.

Hopefully, CL is available for the dates you want it. :wizard:

We're going to Hershey Park for Easter weekend. My brother has tons of Marriott points from business travel, so the rooms are free.

D.C. is before our WDW trip. We're only going to be there the night before our flight, since we're leaving from Reagan National Airport. Since my brother lives in MD, we have the opportunity to go to D.C. often. I'm trying to convince everyone that the Ritz Carlton is a better option than the Hyatt Regency for the night before our flight. :lmao:

I can't believe your 7 month window opens up in only 10 days! Sending lots of pixie dust your way.

I have a feeling it will be available at the start of the trip and then I'm left with deciding if CL is worth it. :confused3 I really want the THV when our energy level and supplies are full. Plus Chloe's YES class is during our AK time and I just like the way it all fits together. I'm thinking I'll bag CL if it's not available during the second half of the trip. I'm I nuts?

Can't beat free! :thumbsup2 Is the whole fam damily going? ;) Those nephews and that niece of yours are so cute!

I vote for the Ritz too. I've stayed at a Ritz only once in my life in So Cal. Holy heavenly. :cloud9: They are so beautiful.

I can't either! I know I've been talking about it for nearly a year if not more  but 10 days is so close! Just hoping for some major pixiedust!

Any more thoughts on October or booking a cruise? Change your ADRs or villa again? ;)

:woohoo: October MNSSHP have been posted. :woohoo: here's the ones that correspond with our travel dates:

Sun, 10-14
Tues, 10-16
Thurs, 10-18
Fri, 10-19
Tues, 10-23

Looks like I'll be keeping the tentative plan of 10-18. Love it when it all comes together. :cool1:

I vote for the extra bathroom! Just in case you were wondering.;)

I need to figure out what we are going to do for this, thanks for posting these!

You do!! And now I'm torn again between Jambo and Kidani but the extra bathroom and almost 200 sq feet is swaying me bad.

How are you? :goodvibes

The extra bathroom wins for me. Plus the super cool pool, the quiet and Sanaa. Besides, you are all young and able bodied, Jambo isn't THAT far away.

:rotfl:

Thank you for your input. I'm leaning that way as well.

You're welcome! Are you guys going to do the party? I'm already thinking about costumes. I'm thinking Dalmations. Easy peasy. :thumbsup2
