I ran the idea by DH. Got the big  and half smile. That means no in Michael speak. He's more reralistic than I am. The minute I said a couple of nights at the GCV he knew a cheap trip was out of the question.

I have to agree that cheap went way out the window with that. What about someplace else? Like the Ayre's. It is cheaper and they are running a twitter special. It you put in the promotional code of STAY you get 20% off.

:thumbsup2 Thank you for the code. We'd stay at the GCV through DVC if we could get in, if not, we'd probably stay with my friend whose about 15 min away tops- all side streets. The GCV seriously just makes me wanna go all out; Storyteller's, WOC dining, drinks poolside.....I love it so much. :lovestruc No one markets like Disney.

How's your day?

:figment: 524 days until WDW!!! :figment:

:goofy: 344 days until ADRs!!! :goofy:

:stitch: 192 days until DVC reservation!!! :stitch:

Photobucket is not working today from work :rolleyes1 so no pic.

Darned old photobucket. I know you and how all of the experiences at GCH and that is how it gets expensive. I am there myself. That is why I recommended the Ayre's it is a cheaper alternative in the long run. And such a really nice place.

My life is still drama filled. I would love a break from all of the drama.

I swear, it doesn't matter what we do, nothing is cheap.

But I do love your description of "no" in Michael speak.

I'm so sorry. I'm here if you want to chat.

It's the damn kids!!! :lmao:

It is!

I know what you mean. It doesn't matter which way I go with plans for any vacation the money amount is about the same.:confused3

That is SO true. Eric was asking me why we've never bothered to put the hot tub in our back yard that was planned when we build the house 7 years ago. and honestly it was like, well, the extra money has just gone to different things that we felt was more important at the time, like vacation. Kid pipes up and tells me "Whistler is cheap" which is where we are going in July.

Uh no. Nothing is cheap. No matter how hard I try it seems there is a minimum $$ point of entry.

Like when we go to dinner, it's always a certain amount regardless of where we go....

It is!

Nothing is cheap! Minimum point of entry- love it! :thumbsup2

We always spend what we make. I wonder how we save just as much as we did when we first got married although our incomes have increased? Oh wait, it's the damn kids!

I also think that the more money you make the more money you spend. I wish it weren't that way, but it never fails. Scotty works overtime and I earmark the money for vacation or whatever and it always there is something to spend the money on like the wind blowing down our fence or the van need to get new tires or brakes. It is an endless cycle.

It's crazy. Just last night DH and I were talking about adding on points at the GCV. Mind you we did a budget-let's-watch-it-overhaul not 3 weeks ago. :rotfl:

I still want to do the DVC but right now there is too much going on right now.

SO true on the dinner. UGH. And also true on the more you make the more you spend. At least for us. I wish (sometimes) that wasn't the case but then again on the other hand...you can't take it with you so...we try to balance the 2 as best we can.

Still I think for us, much as I'd really hoped to buy DVC in august I think it's going to be excursions on the cruise OR DVC, the budget isn't going to allow for both at the same time and I'm fairly positive excursions will win (man they are expensive!). Oh well. What's couple more months, right?

Are you guys going on a Disney cruise? Where are you cruising too? The whole family? Details baybee...... popcorn::

:thumbsup2 DVC will be there when you're ready. Rumor has it that they are starting DVC at the Grand Floridian.

Or me planning vacations to go on cruises either but I do it anyway.

::yes:: Where there's a will there's a way! That's my vacation motto. DH hates it because once I think it, it will happen eventually. He says I need to harness that energy into something productive. :rotfl:

Oh it can happen, it's just that Scotty gets motion sickness. I am interested in an Alaskan cruise. Child free, just Scotty and I but I am leaning towards a Disney cruise in so many ways.
