Well I am all caught up. Homeschooling is going really good. Lexi loves to learn so that helps a lot. I haven't been on the Dis much because somethings have come up and the money we had set aside for our return tickets had to go for something else. Now I am stressed out that we won't be able to afford them so I haven't been on the Dis much lately. It is too depressing. I feel like this year is never going to end. It has been an awful year for us and we really could use this vacation. Sorry to go on about it. I love all your pictures and hope you are having a good Yom Kippur. I hope Gab did a great job at her soccer game.

Great photo!

:thanks: Have you posted about your trip? I would love to see more pics.

Are you going to have to postpone your trip? I know how much you have been looking forward to it and need it. :goodvibes I hope it all worls out but the great thing about Disney is that it will always be there so if this trip falls through, and I hope it doesn't, Disney will be waiting for you.

Yom Kippur has been a trial. I woke up last night about 3 am with a raging migraine and I never get headaches. Felt a little better and then felt worse. But I did manage to fast. Broke the fast tonight at Texas Roadhouse. :cloud9:

DH leaves Tuesday for an Eddie Bauer shoot at San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach. Wish me luck! ;)

I'm joining in if that's okay. Your children are darling and I'm loving the opportunity to check out your countdowns. :)

Fun pics!

So sorry about the migraine  How did the soccer game go?

:goodvibes They won 7-0. :faint: I always feel bad, from a mom perspective, for the other team when that happens. Gabby has been there and it's NO fun. She did have a great assist yesterday. :woohoo:

:welcome: The more the merrier. I see your 40th is coming up and you'll be in WDW- what a great way to celebrate!!!!

I should upload more photos to FB today. The beginning of the school year is always so crazy!

I can only imagine. From a parent's perspective it's craxy too and I have only 3 BTSers. I can only imagine what a whole classroom would be like. I will look for your photos on FB!

This is from Disneyland this past June. The fireworks were going off while we were in line for BTMRR. This was taken with my cell so you can only imagine how brilliant they were irl. :cloud9:

:tinker: 450 days!!! :tinker:

I would have to say, it's one of my favorite countries in Epcot! Michael bought me the greatest ring from there and wanted to buy me some bangels too but I wouldn't let him. I am kicking myself now as I love that stayle of jewelery.

Sounds like you need to do some shopping while you're there next year.

Yes my 40th birthday trip is coming up in 3 weeks. If you have to turn 40, you might as well do it with Mickey, right?

::yes:: Absolutely. One of these days I will make it to the real Morroco but for now, I will have to be happy with Epcot.

:thumbsup2 For sure! Anything special planned while in the World to celebrate? Going to WDW is celebration enough! Do you own DVC?

A little off topic news. We met with the rabbi today and we knew Gab's bat mitzvah is set for 4/16/11. We are not thrilled with her Torah portion but I am hoping it will grow on her. The great news is that she has decided to skip the big bash and take up my offer on taking her and her friend to So Cal and Palm Springs for a week. :woohoo: I am SO not a party planner and will be one of those moms who will bribe her kids to elope or have a simple ceremony on the beach.

That's awesome about the bat mitzvah. I think that's such a lovely rite of passage. (forgive my ignorance about the religious part. I've just always enjoyed the idea of welcoming your child to adulthood.)

We bought DVC in May and this will be our first trip to our home resort of BWV. We have some other friends who are going to be there ay the same time so they're joining us for my birthday dinner at Cali Grill. Beyond that no special plans except it's the first trip to WDW we've been on without our kids!

I love Cal Grill! And WDW without kids is special right there!!! :woohoo: How fun you get to celebrate with friends too. I would love to get a few couple together and do an adults only trip. We would spend tons of time at WS at night. Where is your home resort? Ours is SSR. Can't wait to finally stay home! :cloud9:

I cannot believe I am in the 440's. :rotfl2:

We've been on both sides too and it's not fun. I feel bad as well. At K's JV game this weekend she was going for a goal, goalie went after her and somehow totally messed up her knee (the goalie, not K). It was brutal, not sure if she blew it out or just wrenched it. I hope she's ok.

The game was already like that and then we all just felt worse for the other team. K did get 3 goals and an assist! nice 4-0 game. Though to be fair, the other team was pretty bad. Too bad the varsity coach missed most of it.

that would be me too :rotfl: though thankfully I don't have to worry about it it would probably stress me out and I'd feel "required" to do a party.

Poor thing, hope she's okay. Gab's old team used to lose almost every game but always kept their spirits up somehow. Anyway they played one game where they slaughtered the other team and after the 6th goal our coach told the girls they could only score with their weak foot.

::yes:: Admittedly we did get a few looks when we said we were just doing the Kiddush luncheon and then a dinner that night for out-of-towners and close friends and family. I don't care though, She will enjoy a trip to So Cal much more. After some research on PS though, it is a HUGE retirement community so I think we are going to do So Cal but focus on shopping for her. Wanna see the working itinerary? :hyper: My BBF offered to have us stay with her which is awesome! She has a beautiful home and Gab adores her.

  • Sunday May 1: fly into Long Beach, pick up convertible Mustang that I have rented, go local like maybe Seal Beach. :woohoo:
  • Monday May 2: Catalina Island all day and overnight. :cool1:
  • Tuesday May 3: home from Catalina, Belmont Shore :thumbsup2
  • Wednesday May 4: Balboa Island, Crab Cooker, bad Jews, in Newport Beach :rotfl2:
  • Thursday May 5: Huntington Beach :cloud9:
  • Friday May 6: fly home

That's so funny, I almost said...PS? really?

We know retirees that live there and my inlaws love to go there. We can't stand it to be brutally honest. Though I had a decent spring break week there once in college. Of course, all that said, I'm going in Nov for my FIL's birthday. I've had to go there quite a bit for work over the years and it's hot, SO spread out and there just isn't much to do but drink, golf or lay by the pool.

:rotfl:

Bleh

My inlaws want us to golf. Jeff and I would rather have our eyes poked out. I think I'm going to escape to the spa. Thankfully I don't have enough vacation to go for the whole week, just a long weekend.

I like the new plan MUCH better, that sounds pretty perfect to me and I know it would to Kendall! Jeff used to live there and Taylor was actually born there.

Oh my gosh there is the best breakfast place in Long Beach, not too far from Belmont Shore, Schooner or Later.

YUM!

And a really good bloody mary, or if you are with your BF, get a bottle of bubbly and then they just bring more oj as you need it.

We went there on Spring Break and loved it. Did Seal Beach too but not the rest. It was cold while we were there though :(

Get out!!! I love Schooner or Later. I worked in Belmont Shore forever at Legend's Sports Bar- I am very familiar with the area. Went to Cal State LB for my undergrad degree. :woohoo: I grew up not 20 minutes from there.

My parents used to take me to PS all the time growing up and I have very fond memories but my friend said it's not the PS it used to be.

:ccat: 448 days!!! :ccat:

This is from WDW May 2009. It's Chloe and our friends' son Chris. They are such cute buddies.

oh how funny! Jeff got his first masters there! And then lived there for about 10 years after that I think. You guys may have crossed paths :)

Re: PS. I hear its a bit of a ghost town....foreclose wise. we had dinner guests a couple of weeks ago that live there and got an earful.

I am ever amazed at what a truly small world this is! I graduated with my BA in 1993. Was he around that time?

:wave2:
Hey Jenny! Look at you in the 440's! It seems the days are just moving on by...

I was just dropping in to say hi and see how you were. Hope all is well and you've recovered from you headache. I get migraines, so I know how that feels, just horrible. Today is 10 DAYS!!!! OMG, I just can't believe it's so close! The next 10 will fly though as I leave on Saturday for Seattle and don't come home until Wednesday -then I'm off to DL. My nephew is so excited too, I bought him an aluminum Mickey Mouse waterbottle as a token gift to open at his birthday dinner - he wants to fill it with vodka and cranberry! Oh, to be 21 again. I was kidding around him too, letting him know that I would be conducting bed check at 11:30 each night. He just rolls his eyes and laughs at me. I have decided that while I'm away in Seattle, any down time I have, I can work on my Ridemax plan.

I'm so ready for this vacation, but once it's over, my work travel basically has me out of the office until the end of October (in and out, but mostly out) so it's the calm before the storm.. Have a great day!:cloud9:
