I posted this over in the resorts thread but didn't think to post here... this is a combination of my other posts:

I went on a tour of KV on Tuesday and spent 8 hours there today... it is beautiful!!! It has the largest collection of African art in the country, and all of it is designed to be touched (but not picked up)! It's all over the resort and like the Lodge the view of the animals is incredible.

I'm not DVC... but I can't wait til May 1 to explore the property anyway. To those out there that already have the rooms - they are incredible. I saw the model room and it's definately better than the apartment I live in.

I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Asante Sana!

(Question about pictures and the pool) No cameras were allowed because the resort is not opened yet and still considered backstage... but when it opens next month I'll try to grab some.

The pool is incredible!

(Question about viewing animals, food and merchandise)
Oh yeah... all kinds. They have special community balconies (they're still adding the rocking chairs so we weren't allowed to go out on them) and there is a walk out area where the animals can come in within maybe 10 feet... that was amazing.

I'm trying to remember counter service, but I can't, that doesn't mean there isn't one however. We did get to test a lamb meatball in the table service restaurant - it's African based with Indian flavors.

There is a merchandise shop right when you walk in, across from the front desk area.

I can't imagine the pool will open before the resort, but it looks on target for May 1!

What specifics can you share about the pool?

Much thanks for any comments.....

So excited to hear more as the months go on!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Are there any food offerings in the gift shop ? Thanks so much for sharing what you have.....I am excited to see KV

Thank you so much for this post.
We are going to be in a two bedroom savanna view August 23 and cannot wait. I have been anxiously awaiting hearing all about it from those who stay on May 1st. That is great that you got to tour.
Thanks again for posting.

Another thanks for the post! We're staying in September, and are thinking about doing an add on. If it's as good as it sounds, dh will be sold.

Any fireplace or a fire pit?
Why do I have this feeling this is a fake post!

Wow, I envy you getting to tour Kidani, but how did you manage that? We will be seeing it May 5, so not too far off. I promise to take lots of pictures and post them here!

Pool details PLEASE!

We really just walked by it on the tour so I didn't stay and look at it too long. I'm afraid I do not have many details because I spent the majority of my time in the lobby and CM break room.

Are there any food offerings in the gift shop ? Thanks so much for sharing what you have.....I am excited to see KV

I know that you can order groceries through the gift shop, like other DVCs. The shop was not open on Tuesday so we could not go in.

The fire pit is on the walkout into the Savannah area. Why would I make a fake post about this? That's ridiculous.

Coming home May 7 thru 10:cool1:. How did you get a tour of Kidani?:confused3

I was involved with training the new CMs for their roles at Kidani. We were given a quick tour (which is why my details are sparse - sorry!) of the area then I was stationed backstage to help collect information about the training processes.

Thanks again for updating us.....it's funny how excited we all are about any details you can toss our way ! ;)

Thanks for all of the info. So happy to hear that it looks as good as expected. We will be there in June. Can't wait!
