Kidani Village Pool

We're headed there at the end of June. Does anyone know if they're currently taking ADR's for the restaurants yet or if that won't happen until they officially open?

I haven't read anything that mentions pool hopping at AKV or BLT. Will pool hopping be allowed to DVC members staying at other resorts on points? Or will these two be off limits like SAB?

The pool at Jambo House does not allow pool hoppers so I expect the new pool at Kidani will have the same restriction.

There is only one restaurant in the Kidani building. It is called Sanaa and MS started taking reservations for it a few weeks ago. It will be open for lunch and dinner but not breakfast.

ETA: Members had a one-week head start for reservations. We could call MS starting Feb 16th to make an ADR for Sanaa. Reservations opened for everyone else stating Feb 23rd through Disney Dining.

Latest rumor I heard was that our current management, always one looking for ways to "enhance" our membership experience, decided that in this tough economy they should modify the pool concept to something a bit smaller so future maintenance fees charged to members were not excessive. I too wondered about this but since it is going to be a DVC ONLY resort.. I am guessing that pool hopping at the DVC area may be allowed for DVC owners only. I realize that AKL and BCV pools are not allowed for pool hopping due to the fact that they "share" the property and pool with a resort and a DVC = many people.
Any other thoughts??

I actually walked back pretty close to what will be the pool area last December. I saw it from a distance. What I saw was nothing more than a hole where the pool will be and foundation/cement where community hall and maybe the pool bar will end up. The rest of the pool area was just fenced off with some construction fencing.

Here's a shot of what Kidani's port cochere looked like. If I would have panned to the left I could have got a shot of the pool area, but I didn't because there really wasn't much there yet. Let me also mention...This building is massive.

Just popping by to say that we will be at Kidani for opening weekend. I'll be sure to take lots of pix and will post them asap when we return!

I will be there May 1st...got a 2bedroom

and we arrive april 26th and stay at Jambo 2bedroom..so we will race you to check in at Kidani

We stayed at AKV last week and I was chatting with a DVC rep in the lobby. He showed me an aerial shot that was very cool. It showed the pool area. I asked another rep later in the week so my DH could see the aerial. You can't really see any pool detail though.

So anyone going soon, just ask to see it.

I assume so. I was within 90 days when MS started taking reservations so it wasn't an issue in my case.

In regards to the "pool hopping" questions...

Am I understanding correctly that guests of the Animal Kingdom LODGE will not be able to use the pool at Kidani? But I would assume that guests of the Animal Kingdom VILLAS will be allowed, right? How exactly do they plan to differentiate? Will they check the KTTW cards for the "DVC" notation? I am wondering because we have a value stay (studio/1BR split stay) so we are not going to be in Kidani. I would still like to use the pool, though. Well, maybe not...it will be SO awesome and nice that the Jambo pool might be vacant . (Hey, I can dream, right?) As long as there is a slide that ends in a splash, my kids are happy!

We are going in October and can't wait. Sounds like it is going to be great. We are definitely going to make reservations for BOMA, not sure about the new DVC Restaurant yet. We will wait and see the reviews
