Kidani Village? Never again... (now with pics!)

Wow!! What fab pictures! We've just booked our 1st ever DVC trip for October at Kidani and really, really can't wait now!

Great photos! We just got back from Kidani Village and I fell in love with it!

We are AKV owners and are so hooked we can't seem to get up the nerve to book anywhere else. I know we would enjoy trying other places but I am afraid I would miss the animals and atmosphere at AKL. Thanks for the pics. I felt like I was "home" again.

You made me so homesick with your wonderful pictures! :goodvibes I loved our stay there! The pool was fantastic and the staff was great. This trip we will have a split stay, first at BLT and then at AKV Jambo. Looking at pictures, I am not sure it looks as roomy as Kidani, but it will still be beautiful, I'm sure!

Thanks again!

I gotta say, we weren't really crazy about booking AKV originally, we just did it too have a cheap studio. But looking at everyone's pictures has me really excited! It's so pretty. I don't really understand the bathroom configuration either, but seeing as it's just mom and me I don't think we'll have any issues. I do have three questions though.

1)Does anyone have a picture of the keyless safe in the closet? I haven't seen any pictures anywhere else.

2)Are all studios the second bedroom in the lockoffs? (AKA do they all have the adjoining door?) If not, what's in place of where the door would be?

3)From the room layout sketches I've seen, it appears that there is the kitchenette across from the bathroom. Next to that is the door where the rooms connect. So next to that is a mini closet and then the armoire? Is the mini closet where the safe/bedding for the pullout sofa is? That would make sense, as I didn't realize there was a mini closet, and was confused as to where it goes in the armoire.

Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions!

Only 13 more days until I'm there myself!:goodvibes

Thanks for the pics, but now I really hate we aren't doing our summer trip this year and won't be back until the week after Christmas. We love Kidani. We will also be staying in a standard studio this trip (actually two of them) so good to see all of your pictures.

My wife and I stayed in Jambo last June and didnt care for it at all, but went to Kidani several times swimming, we loved the pool, not to crowded and very relaxing. We decided if we ever stayed at AKL again it would have to be a Kidani or not at all.

Yes, the mini closet is where the safe and bedding are located. It's an odd setup, but really no problem. I took the closet and DW took the armoire.

Thanks so much! :goodvibes Do you think a 15" laptop would fit in it?

I cannot fit my Dell 15.4", but DW Acer 10" Netbook was in the brown bag in the safe (as shown in the picture).

I trust Disney employees, but for peace of mind, had a cable lock for my Dell 15.4" on the desk.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures. We just cancelled our trip in June and we were so upset! We have a family gathering in a Jambo GV in September, but I was so upset to cancel our room in Kidani in June. I really wanted to stay in both locations. Just the other day I actually added 2 nights to our Sept. vaca for just my lil family of 4 in a Kidani 1bdrm SV before the whole family gets there. Now after seeing your pics I REALLY can't wait to go!!! I've only got 143 days left lol. Thanks again for posting!

OK, I have a Dell Studio and it's 15.4" and I don't have a lock for it. I guess I'll just hide it elsewhere.

I asked this question when we stayed there last June - right after it opened. I was told by the DVC Guide who sits onsite all day at the resort, in other words - not a front desk CM, that they are all lock-offs, there are no dedicated studios.

We are staying at Kidani village in SEptember for 10 nights. We are also buying the dining plan. Is there any place in Kidani where you can use the DDP other than Sanaa? for snacks or quickservice?
Thanks

Unfortuntely not. You need to hop on any park bus and head over to Jambo House as that is the next stop before the parks. Then you have Mara for counterservice, Boma - table service and in my opinion best buffet, and Jiko - signature dining. Then hop the Downtown Disney park to get back to Kidani. I think that with all the space they have at Kidani, a counterservice option should be added. I think it would be very worth the investment for Disney. I hope "they" heard me.

We are die hard BCV BWV people. For a change of pace, we did a split stay a couple of years ago and stayed at a studio in Jambo for a few days. I loved the animals...hated the room. Fast forward and darling daughter is graduating from college. She and I want to do a mother/daughter grad trip. Her Disney memory is absolutely Lion King. I swear she watched that movie over 300 times when she was a child! Soo....naturally when I gave her a resort choice, she choose Animal Kingdom. My heart sunk. I really did not enjoy Jambo.:sad2: However, after going through all your pictures and comments, my heart is again lifted and I now have a more optimistic outlook!!!:thumbsup2 Thanks for the dialog and pictures!
