Kidani or Jambo House?

Upcoming trip we are wanting to stay at the Animal Kingdom lodge. What is the difference between Kidani Village and Jambo House? What do you get if you stay Club Level?

Club level gets you a lounge area and like a continental breakfast ... there are many differences between the two but you can sum it up as Jambo is everything bigger (lobby, pool, shop) and kidani is everything quieter.

Upcoming trip we are wanting to stay at the Animal Kingdom lodge. What is the difference between Kidani Village and Jambo House? What do you get if you stay Club Level?

The rooms at Jambo are smaller and the 1BR only has 1 bath with 2 bath in the 2BR. Kidani's 1BR have two full bathrooms and the 2BR's have 3 full bathrooms. Kidani also has a separate jacuzzi tub and shower stall in the 1 and 2BR master suites. The park buses stop at Kidani first and then go to Jambo. The DTD buses are the opposite. Kidani only has 1 restaurant, Sanaa, while Jambo has Jiko, Boma and the quick service called the Mara. We like the pool area at Kidani better, and the slide is definitely better. Kidani's pool area has an awesome splash are for the kids. Kidani's gift shop is much smaller, but adequate. It is only a show walk between the two (10 minutes max) and you can also just hop a park bus from Kidani to Jambo or DTD bus from Jambo to Kidani. There is also an intra-resort shuttle van.

Concierge is all at Jambo and on the 6th floor. It is difficult to get if you don't own at AKV. There are 5 2BR lock-offs that are the DVC concierge level. Concierge gets you daily housekeeping, turn-down service, a concierge planning person and food/drinks all day long. You also have access to the Sunrise Safari at AK, which is two days a week. The savanna views are not very good on the concierge level.

I have chimed in several times in this kind of thread. We really like Kidani. I base that on the pool, the lobby and the experience I had at Kidani. Personal preference, but our family really likes Kidani.

For a romantic getaway we prefer Kidani. When bringing our parents, Jambo. Jambo has dinning right there, while Kidani only has Sanaa (awesome though). Jambo has the larger busier lobby. Kidani has the DVC at home kinda lobby. More lush foilage around the pool at Jambo, better kiddie pool at Kidani.

For someone wanting a Disneyfied trip I would pick Jambo, for the experienced traveler to Disney or those wanting a more relaxed vibe...Kidani.

If you need a scooter, Jambo. If getting a seat on a bus is more important, Kidani (since park buses stop there first). Covered parking, Kidani. Early morning to watch the sun come up over Savanna, pick Kidani.

Both places offer lots of fun things to do around the resort. Just take the resort shuttle van for trips back and forth between the two.

I forgot to mention.... If you stay at Kidani, make sure to visit Jambo lobby with time enough to look around. Very cool stuff there..... Old safari pictures, huge ceremonial mask
