Kidani; beads, floors, near elevators, help???

Glad to help, at least you have been appreciative, which is more than I can say for another thread where I simply tried to share the most up to date info I have been given by management. :sad2:

I'm sorry. :goodvibes What was the info? Related to Kidani?

We stayed in Kidani right after it opened. We had a standard view (of the parking lot area) and we were near the pool area. Our kids enjoyed community hall and never complained about the walk. We also walked over to Jambo without complaint. We are looking forward to staying there again.

So when we refer to it as "bead" on our room request the assignor does know what we mean, right?

thanks for the input from those of you who have Kidani experience. We are also going for our first visit in August.... a little nervous b/c it will be so hot and I fear that the animals will be listless. But we needed to go when kids were off school and we are celebrating my daughter coming off a 2.5-year-long cancer treatment!! :woohoo:

She has always wanted to stay at AK and specifically asks for a savannah view. She is having fantasies of a giraffe right outside her window. I know she has unrealistic expectations but she is only 8 and I'm just praying that she sees a giraffe period let alone right outside our balcony.

Which Savannah is it that def. has giraffes at Kidani? Gotta make sure we ask for that as our request and I think we'll ask to be half-way (or 4th "bead") if that sounds right?

TIA

the 2nd floor on the far end away from jambo house. When we check in they said it was one of the best places to see the animals and they were right. There was always a herd of animals out side our window. In particularly giraffes and zebras. When we first got to our room there were 19 animals out our balcony. One night we had a half hour staring contest with a giraffes who came as close as he could.

At Kidani, Sunset Savanna has giraffes. The other savanna at Kidani, the Pembe Savanna, has okapi, red river hogs, and Thompson's gazelles, but no giraffes. So, to increase my chances of seeing giraffes, I would request the Sunset Savanna.

I think either side of Kidani has it advantages, I would simply ask for 4 or 5 bead and the floor you want.

That's quite the thread. That'll teach ya for adding info and perspective. ;)

Wow. That much have been amazing! My kids would flip to see a group like that. :thumbsup2

Giraffes are a must!

Don't worry, our last trip to AKL was in August 2010 and we saw many animals outside our balcony. Don't forget to go out to the viewing areas and talk with the CMs. They are wonderful with the kids and have alot of interesting stories! Have a wonderful trip! We had a 2BR villa on the fourth floor waaaay down those long hallways. We didn't mind the walk to the lobby, pool or to Mara. Coming back from the parks we would hop off at Jambo and walk back to our villa if we ate at Mara. It was a 5 minute trek at most.
