I need some ideas for some kid tested, kid appoved reciped for my family. I have three kids...DD 4, DS 6, and DH 34 :rotfl2: Unfortunately, he is my biggest kid...just as picky an eater. What meals do your kids love? We need help here! I'd prefer somewhat healthy, too!

I'm lucky I've got two easy to please eaters... but some favs around here are:

DS (2) loves Chickpeas done in a Tikka Masala Sauce over Basmati Rice with Naan bread. It got to the point it's all he wanted to eat back in October... Now we're back to a realistic once every couple of weeks!

Another really popular meal with my family and visitors is Kraft's Chicken Bruschetta Bake (DS and DH love a side ceasar salad). Recipe is here: http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/Recipes/RecipeTemplate?recipe_id=87734

Another Kraft recipe that's become popular around here - Cheesy Cheddar & Ham Bake. Recipe is here: http://www.kraftcanada.com/EN/Recipes/RecipeTemplate?recipe_id=83018

DS really likes meatloaf, so I've got a couple recipes that keep him happy.
1. http://www.pbs.org/everydayfood/recipes/meatloaf_chili_sauce.html
2. http://www.kraftcanada.com/EN/Recipes/RecipeTemplate?recipe_id=88812

I've got plenty more, but I'm sure you'll get lots of other replies!!

Just had another couple thoughts...

What does your family like to eat when at Disney? I've started making favorite Disney receipes at home. The 'Ohana Wings and 'Ohana Scalloped Potatoes are requested a LOT. Same goes for some of the Crystal Palace (Black Bean Salad) and Boma (flank steak and fufu) menu items.

I also scored a Disney Magic Kitchen Cookbook at a booksale back in Dec for $6. It's intended for kids, and while some (not all) of the recipes are good... the best part is it's laid out for kids to help. If you'd like, I'd be happy to scan a couple pages for you - so you can give some of the recipes a try?

That would be wonderful! Thank you so much...I will PM you my email.

do your "kids" like pasta and pizza? i always make my own sauce (it's really easy) and i find this is great to slip in a few extra veggies. they honestly could not tell the difference. now they know there are veggies and they continue to eat with no complaints. also cheesy potato soup and tomato soup are good ones. i puree it all so it's just a creamy mixture at the end. my pickiest eater will eat these with no problems and they usually have about 10 different vegetables in them. i also make healthy pancakes on the weekend. i freeze them in ziploc bags and the kids eat them throughout the week. they really enjoy them and they usually don't put any syrup on them because they have enough flavor plain.

if any of these sound like something they may eat i can post some recipies when i have a little more time.

A huge hit at our house which is great for family time is biscuit pizza's made from Pillsburry Grand biscuits. I chop up everyone's favorite toppings & put them in the middle of the table. Everyone takes their own biscuit & smashes it out their own biscuit, puts on however much sauce they want, cheese, & toppings. Before they start to put anything on the smashed out biscuit put it on a piece of tinfoil sprayed with cooking spray--makes it a lot easier to put on the cookie sheet. You pretty much bake them at the temp & time on the can of biscuits; depending on how much sauce & toppings are on them you may have to add a bit more time--just eyeball it. We have a fun time making these & it's great that everyone can put on what they want instead of compromising on one pizza! Even my DS2 can make these--I just help him smashing it out a bit more & put on his sauce. They are yummy!

By the way PP, I would love your spaghetti sauce recipe--I hate jarred sauces & would love to have one where I add my own vegees!

Looking forward to some great recipes on this thread--I have two very picky eaters as well!

A favorite in our house is chicken strips. I take boneless chicken breasts and cut them (w/ a kitchen shears...it is faster) into strips about 1" wide or so.

Then I roll them around in 4C bread crumbs...NO EGG.

I place them all on a piece of tin foil that I spread out over my broiler pan and then broil them (not bake) until they are crispy on both sides (turning them half way).

They are SUPER juicy and tender, and we have lots of dipping sauces to make them taste even better.

We generally make egg noodles and put sour cream over them..YUMMY... and one of our favorite veggies (we generally eat frozen veggies...corn, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc.)..to eat with the chicken strips.
