Hey all! I just returned from my vacation yesterday evening... and I already miss it! I really wanted to write a trip report for the longest time now, and I planned on doing it once I got back. However, due to all the excitement and magic of Disney... I did not take notes. I feel terrible about that too... :confused3
However, I do remember the tour that my dad and I took.
In advance, I would like to apologize for all spelling and grammar mistakes I will make in this report. (No one is perfect... just remember that. :) )

I took this tour on a Friday and it was a fairly large tour group. (There were about 23 of us.) My dad and I decided to take the late tour slot (9:30-3:30 something I believe...) Anyhow, we arrived at the Magic Kingdom around 9:05 and immediately went to the tour garden to check in. The lovely cm at the desk took up our ids and handed us our earpieces, name tags, and lanyards. She then told us that we could help ourselves to "complimentary water and coffee." (Right :rotfl2: )

As we were helping ourselves to the "complimentary water and coffee," a nice looking family came to check in. The lovely cm took up their ids and examined them. She soon discovered that the family's daughter was too young by less than a month!! So, unfortunately the family was turned away and not allowed to take the tour. (That’s unfortunate :sad2: )

Well, as soon as the guide was ready... she lead us out to the front of the building and introduced herself. She told us that her name was Hope and for us to turn on our earpieces. She then asked if anyone had trouble hearing her or couldn't seem to get their earpiece working. I turned my earpiece on and realized... all I got was static... :sad2:
So, I immediately let Hope know and she came over and tried to replace it. However, about 5 minutes it still didn't work... so I just gave up on it and turned it off... oh well. While we were standing on Main Street, Hope asked us to give “Disney Introductions” of ourselves. So, we each took a turn saying our name, where we were from, and our favorite Disney character…. And let me tell you, there were lots of Goofys. (I of course said Stitch)

She then took us over to several Main Street shops and told us about the names on the buildings. We then went over the Adventureland and talked a while about it. After we learned about Adventureland, we continued to the Jungle Cruise.
I learned loads about this attraction... like (they dye the water... go figure, and the elephants in the water have no legs!!!) poor things

When we got off of the Jungle Cruise we finally went to our first backstage area…. And boy was it interesting. The buildings are all GREEN!!!

Hope’s reasoning behind this fact is that “Green is the only color that shows no emotion, and it blends in well with the sky.”

So, anyhow when we were about to head off to Columbia Harbour House… Hope felt ill. She all of the sudden asked if she could sit down, of course we allowed her. So, one of the girls in the group gave Hope her “Complimentary Water,” and she felt better.

Shortly after this set back, we went to eat lunch. We arrived at the restaurant and learned that we would be eating with another family. My dad and I wound up eating with a lovely couple…. (The lady was a teacher in California, and the man worked for Pixar). We enjoyed talking to these wonderful people and learning about the man’s job.

After lunch we rode the Haunted Mansion, and learned lots of info on this ride also…
Shortly after this, we were taught a brief history lesson…. We were told that the path that runs along Liberty Square… actually depicts the sewage that used to be dumped in the streets… GO FIGURE!

After learning some historical facts, we headed to the corridors… (This is the only reason I took this tour.) To be honest, I wasn’t at all surprised by the appearance of the corridors. They looked exactly as I expected them to look, which is odd. Nevertheless, when we finished our tour she took us back to Main Street where we said our goodbyes.

Overall this tour was amazing… I really enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone. Once again… I apologize for grammatical errors… So sorry. I am only 16… give me a break! :confused3

Have a wonderful day and feel free to ask any questions about the tour! Thanks for bearing with me.

or something of that nature.

Thanks for your take on the tour....I saw no problems grammatically or spelling wise.....were you just trying to get us to pay more attention? :rotfl2:

Glad you enjoyed the KTTK tour. We've done it twice and loved it both times.

babytrees- haha... no, I just didn't want to mess up... thanks for the reply!!! (and for reading!)

minniespal- thats awesome that you took it twice... did you notice more the second time? Anyways, thanks for the reply!!! (and for reading it!)

Hope everyone has an awesome day! :wizard:

I am glad you took the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I used to be a Keys tour guide, so I found your description of it interesting.

Is that all you did on your tour?

Kelly

Your description pretty much matched our tour except we had a nice group of 6 people which was really nice.

I'm glad you enjoyed the tour!! I've been on it twice and enjoyed it both times. The first time was on my honeymoon, and was a very small group. The second time was this past June with a much larger group. It's interesting how much new information you hear the second time.

My family of four went on the tour and I thought the tour was way too expensive.
When you add the price of the tour plus park admission I thought it was too much (we only stay another hour in the Magic Kingdom)

We had a good guide and kind of enjoyed the tour but I still would not recommend the Keys tour. I would rather see other events like hoop-de-doo or the laua for my money.

Thanks for the tour description ! I booked this tour for duirng my September trip! :)

I took this tour on Monday August 1 at 8:30am and it was GREAT! Our tour guide was Matthew and he did a great job! Now I wonder why I never took this tour in the past, it makes going to the parks refreshing again! Our tour had 5 people other then my dad and myself.

The best fact that I was told was that the right side of Main Street is WIDER then the left! I put that to test and saw that the left side was two squares wide while the ride side was 2 & 1/2 squares wide! It's all because people walk down the right side when entering the park!

Lots of other great facts that I can't remember at the moment. Backstage behind Main Street was just like what I saw from aerial photos, etc.... Utilidors were great and it just felt "special" being down there.

I'm going to post a trip report in the next week detailing more!

Our guide explained that as well and had a saying that stuck in my head for our entire trip. Don't be a sheep go left. We would say that and go left and never get caught in a crowd.

It aws great with just 6 people felt much more laid back, I loved it!

pkdcoastrs- great!!!!!! Sounds like your tour was wonderful also!! I am glad you had a great time! THANKS for the comment!! bye :wave2:

gradtchr-haha thats a cute saying! Thanks!!!! I will try and remember that saying! Have a great day!!! :wave2:

Thank you for posting this report!
Hubby and I are taking the tour in Sept. and can't wait! :cheer2:

Thanks for the report. We went on the KTTK tour on July 25th and were very lucky to have MATTHEW as our guide. He's the best! I highly recommend this tour to Disney addicts like myself who have been there many times but want to learn more about the history and secrets of WDW. It is well worth the $ and you get a discount if your a DVC member (yeah) or have an AP (yeah). BTW not only do you get "free" coffee and water prior to the tour, but "free lunch" is included in the tour price. So, there is such a thing! :rotfl2:

dani0622- Thanks so much! I am glad that you enjoyed the tour also!! Have a nice day!

jetsetter90- Thats great! You will have so much fun!!! Thanks for reading! bye....

melindaandrob-THANK you for reading! I hope you have an amazing time...

owtrbnks- oh right... I forgot about the "free lunch!" Thanks for reminding me of that... I am glad that you had fun!!!!
