Great tips! I have been wanting to do a tour with my husband. We were talking about doing one this fall. Maybe it will be this one! Now, if I can only figure out how to get him out of bed to be there by 8:30.....

I had booked the early KTTK tour, then the MNSSHP schedule came out. The only night we could go to the party was the night before our tour, so moved the time back. Otherwise, we might doze on the dark rides. This will give us time to sleep in a little or have breakfast at the Kona.

We took this tour in 2004 and this is one of the pics I took from the train station while waiting for the tour to start.

As you can see, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

how much are the tours and what they show?

I believe it's $58 per person. They have an AP discount (15%) and a DVC discount (20%?). I know when I booked she told me the DVC was a better discount. Two adults came out to $92.79.

They have 8:30, 9:00, and 9:30 start times.

I actually just went ahead and cancelled my tour and rebooked. The phone agent told me it's 20% off if you use your Disney Visa which I do Pretty nice discount.

We went on the KTTK tour in May. There is a 15% AAA discount also available. Arriving early for the 9:00 tour allowed us to join the 8:30 group too - the 9:00 was going to be 12 people and the 8:30 ended up being only 8! We had a wonderful tour as well and feel it was worth the money. The only rides we went on were Haunted Mansion and POTC. Interesting that some groups go on more rides than others. I guess it depends on the tour guides. Enjoy!!

While the tour was informative, don't do it unless you really want to learn about the history of the park. Not much time was spent underground...all you saw were lockers and directional signs on the walls. The tour focused more on the business aspect of the park and less on "hidden secrets" that we expected.

However, it was nice to not have to wait in line to ride a few attractions.
