I wanted to know , when the Cruise Ship docks in Old Key West, does the ship leave and return or just leavs for the Sunset Celebration. I was told that no ships are allowed in the harbor because of this.

The ship never left where we docked. I do think there is another dock which is what you may be talking about.

Also, we got great photos from deck 4.

Goofy41, when Key West first allowed cruise ships to call there (1984), the only place to dock was at Mallory Square... a place where a ship would block the famous sunset. That's why ships docking there have to leave before sunset. But there are now two additional cruiseship berths... Pier B (behind the Hilton, near Mallory Square) and the Navy Mole (at the Truman Annex). Both docks are within walking distance of downtown but are situated so that they don't block the view of sunsets from Mallory Square. Don't worry, the Magic will always use Pier B or the Navy Mole... they won't use the Mallory Square dock because of the requirement to leave prior to sunset.

Dave, I thought Disney did use Mallory Square as their berth. I thought I read that she blocked the view of the sunset from Mallory square but DCL guests didn't mind because they went up on deck to watch.

Did I miss something?

MJ

Magic docks on a pier right to the left of Mallory Square (if you're looking towards the water.) It doesn't block the sunset... it is just to the left of it. Great location.
