Hi All!

Wondering if anyone call help shed some light for me? I understand that if I bought a Disney package, they will put my park tickets on my Key to the World room key. I purchased a package with only ONE day passes since I have left over park tickets from a previous visit (which I am planning to use and finish on my upcoming trip). If I don't plan on using the ONE day park passes on my World room key, will they still be valid/available to us in future? Or will they be cancelled when we check out of the WDW resort at the end of our trip?

Many thanks!! :)

Just a guess here because I don't stay on site but I would think that the one on your room key would only be good for that visit. :confused3

Why not use that one and save a day from your others that you can use some other time? Best of both worlds.

Anyone with a more complete knowledge of the system, please feel free to jump in here and say it the right way. :rotfl:

No, it is not only good for that visit just because it is on your room key, unless you use it to get into a park. :)

It is good forever as long as you do not use it to go through a turnstile. We are AP holders and have booked packages several times to get the dining plan because DH loves it. So we end up with two one day base tickets left over. At some point during our trip, we stop in at any guest relations and have them take the ticket off the room key and give us separate one day base tickets so we can save it for later.

You wouldn't have to have them taken off the room key, but we do because I am afraid I will forget what room keys have unused tickets on them and throw them away. This way, the tickets they give me go right into the passporter and I know exactly where they are. I'm taking one with me next week so I can use it against the cost of my AP renewal because it expires the last day of our trip. Last trip we used one against the cost of DH's AP.

The other thing to consider is that these are worth the current gate value of about $71 toward an upgraded ticket, and that is pretty spendy for one day's admission, so you would probably be better off using the tickets you already have and stashing these for a future "discount" on more tickets. Not really a discount since you already paid for them, but it feels like it when you give it to them and they give you X amount of dollar credit toward the tickets you're buying!

We have the exact situation, one day with our package and left over days from previous tickets. I was told the one day would be good until we use it. We would rather just use the old tickets and keep this one for the next trip.
So when we check in we will use our key for the room and dining but not for entering the parks and just keep the ticket.

I hope this is the case, but will double check when we get to WDW. Hopefully the check in CM will have the same info the reservation one did.

I can categorically say they will be good. I've done exactly what you're doing except the tickets were used by other people than were on the room reservations. Enjoy

If you go to the concierge (or Guest Relations at a park, as previously suggested), you can ask them to take the package ticket that's on the key off and place it on a paper ticket. You can then give them your left-over ticket from the previous trip and ask them to move it onto the key.

This is a two step process, because only one ticket can be on the key at a time.

This way, you'll have the benefit of having everything for your trip on the single Key to the World card.

If you don't want to go through this, you can just save your room key and use the package ticket any time in the future. The hotel key, room charging, and dining plan are only valid for the dates printed on the ticket. But the one-day park ticket is valid until used. Do yourself a favor, though, and write on the key with a magic marker indicating exactly what's left on it. There is no way to verify over the phone or internet what entitlements are left on a ticket. If you stick it away somewhere and forget, the only way to check it is to bring it back to WDW.

Thank you all so much for such valuable advice/feedback!! I'm glad you totally understand why I would want to do this ... some people here have thought I was nuts for using up my older tickets first! :confused3

I think I will stop by Guest Relations or the Conceirge at the resort and have them take off the one day tickets from my World key so that I have a paper ticket for next year's trip.

THANKS AGAIN ALL! :goodvibes

I can do that? Awesome. I was excited about getting the unwanted ticket off my KTTW card, but being able to put my ticket on my kTTW? Excellent.

Can I do that with only one card? Like I could put my real ticket on instead of my package ticket, but my mom's card would have her packge ticket on it?

Yes, they have to change each KTTK card separately. So just don't give them the keys you want to leave the package ticket on.

this is really good information. we're taking a trip in december and orginally i was going to stay off site so i had purchased tickets separately, but then used a code i found on here and decided to stay on site and do dining. so i will try the move the 1 day ticket off and replace it with the 5 day hopper that i had already purchased and use the 1 day for next years trip

FYI --- just returned back from our trip and was NOT able to get our park tickets stripped off our World Key cards. I tried asking for this at 3 different locations -- our hotel, MK guest relations, and EPCOT guest relations. Was told consistently by MANAGERS that they are not able to do this.

I was able to have it done at AK guest relations.

I'm really disappointed by the inconsistency. You should have seen how ADAMENT these managers were ... one said he'd been working there for 12 years now and has never ever heard of this being done.

Yes. It is a fairly specialized thing. And it IS a consistency issue. You are not the first person to have problems in asking to have this done. Rest assured it *can* be done .. if you find the right person with the right training.

But never matter, the tickets are still present on those room keys, so hang on to them!

Yup. Just took 4 in last week and had them converted to one pass -- cost me an additional $15 but now don't have to have the 4 KTTW cards with me or whoever uses it. Epcot has always been the easiest place for me to get stuff like this done for some reason.

Epcot is where the MANAGER at guest relations said he'd never seen that done in 12 years (ie. stripping off unused park ticket from world key card). When I hear that others have had no problem doing this, it makes me so frustrated!

I just have a bad feeling that when I go to use these unused 1 day park tickets in the future, that I'll have some sort of trouble at the front gate!

i thought tickets were non-transferable? so you can take unused tickets from kttw cards and since they weren't used other can use them?

They are, but there were 4 tickets each with 1 day on them from a free dining trip last year. We all had AP so we just needed 1 day on each key for the package since that's a requirement. Normally you're right, but none of these has ever been used so essentially they're non expire.

oh i see so since you all have ap's someone in your group that doesn't have passes can use the pass you combined since no one has used them?

A Disney ticket can only be used by the person who first used it. It's not until after they've been used that they become non-transferable.

Just a note because you used the word "combined"... You can't combine multiple tickets into a single new ticket. For example, you can't create a 4-day ticket by combining four 1-day tickets. Each 1-day ticket is a base ticket, and must be by itself on the ticket media (either a room key or a paper ticket). In the case where you have four room keys each with 1 day's admission on it, you would need to use each of those keys for one admission. If you move the tickets off the room keys onto paper tickets, you'll still have four separate tickets.
