key to the world wristband?

So what you're saying is that WDW is being passed over for cool attractions at other parks... Like DL and Hong Kong. If people get all excited o ve we ristbands, Disney execs dont feel motivated to do anything truely exceptional.

I get'cha. I may not *fully* agree but I understand where you're coming from. I dont think you're a grump ;) You've just got high standards. . Am I right? :)

Yea that's the what I think. WDW also suffers from Vacation Syndrome. The other parks get amazing holiday overlays for attractions like HM and SM. WDW management has actually said they don't do this because they don't want to ruin people's vacations. I just can't beleive it don't do something great because someone's vacation will be ruined!

Take Soarin it is literally unrideable currently IMO. The screen was so bad I didn't even know what to say like I said its so had its unrideable. They are so scared to close major attractions they let them run in shambles. This isn't they Disney I used to know.

Couldn't agree more, especially with Soarin. I mean I still ride it and like it since I never wait long for it, but the screen is pretty bad (its like a cheap movie projector with similar quality nowadays), and I've noticed some of the smells failing as well as out of sync rocking. I honestly would love to see a major reconstruction of future world to refurb alot of these old attractions/maybe something new in WOL.

Soarin is such an easy fix even without a new film. 3 week max it would have to be be down. Alls that is needed is conversion to digital film and a cleaning of the projectors.

I completely agree

Yea I have had several conversations with friends that work at EC. Management is terrified to close a major E in EC and are dreading closing TT in a few months.

Perhaps if they had an additional pavilion I don't know one that focused on the human body the burden wouldn't be so bad:rolleyes:

I am so excited for an enhanced photopass experience like the article talked about. Did you read the part about ride VIDEO?! How cool is that! I really hope PP is integratedinto more rides, like it is with Test Track. Hope we hear some sort of confirmation soon!

I DID !!! my DH n I were talking about it last year that we were surprised that they didnt do video
I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE WHERE THEY GO WITH THIS !!

And i really really wish they offered pictures of the ghosts with u at the end of HM :sad1: i would buy that in a heart beat !!!!!

I'm confused??? Care to expand on this comment? From your previous posts, you dont seem like a person who is against technology in the parks... I guess, for me, anything that makes my kids' eyes light up is magical so I guess I dont know where you're coming from.

Honestly, not pot stiring, I really am interested in your pov on this one.

The problem with this POV is that kids could be easily entertained by poop on a stick if presented properly. Are theyreally the Litmus test?

I totally understand what a family gains from what Disney offers, been there, done that, but YOU need to realize that YOU do more to bring the magic to your child than Disney does. They are simply a facilitator.

What figment tries to point out is that Disney is no longer the catalyst for good times just another purveyor.

JMO of course.

This, like many of your other points, is overly simplistic. Disney did not get "sloppy seconds." They made an aggressive offer that Universal wasn't interested in matching or beating.
Timez, I almost always agree with u but in this case I think u r stirring the pot.

You know darn well that Disney screwed the pooch on Harry potter and then again by refusing to respond. Avatar, while a good omen in scope coming from Disney it is certainly nothing more than Disney trying to gain market share anyway they can ... Not because they really think Avatar was the perfect product.

perhaps you missed his insulting attack towards myself :confused3

and should he really be allowed to start argument over a simple discussion ? i think not

I didn't miss it but he was stating an opinion based on your 'fanboy' attitude ... U attacked him personally (by calling him "sad" or whatever) and that is different but the mods only seem to care when I do that (lol) so you are safe.

U have to understand that many of us remember when disney did things for the reason of quality and not simply profit. This will always make our perspective vastly different from yours.

Certainly your daughter feels real magical emotions while experiencing what Disney offers but it'll be interesting to see how u feel about these same things when your daughter is in college and you are seeing it from a different perspective. Only time will tell.

Actually, I was making a much more focused argument -- poster said Universal "rejected" Cameron on Avatar, who then shopped it to Disney, making it the "sloppy seconds" -- as in, Universal rejected it so Disney got it. It's an overly simplistic way of looking at it.

Universal never would have been in a position to make a real offer for Avatar anyway -- they shelled out big money to Potter, and no doubt have big money committed in the long-term budget for Potter Phase II. They're still fighting off the big investment in the giant, awesome roller coaster that never ever works (Rip, Ride Rockit -- and it IS awesome... when it works) AND they had to pay big bucks to buy out Blackstone to take control of the parks.

That's the argument I was making, not Disney missing the boat on Potter -- which they clearly did.

See, I knew we were simpatico. Btw, I love your description of RRR, lol!!!

why did it close? lack of interest? or $$$ I assume

So sad I love WOL but anyway the trouble was the main area looked like an early 90's mall food court. BW and Cranium Command were getting dated so the entire pavilion needed and overhaul. MetLife pulled out and Disney would of had to had the pay the entire bill. Disney rarely does that do it sits used for storage and Food and Wine.

I dont have a clue what this has to do with wristbands. Personally, from what I read about them, I think they're pretty awesome. I dont think they're the end-all-be-all but I'm sure I can be excited about it without becoming complacent.

And do you honestly think KIDS are excited about wristbands? Whatever. The character greetings were just one of the enhancements proposed. And since my kids have only been to Disney once in their lives, yup, I'm the one who brings the magic on a daily basis.

I understand where you & figment are coming from. But dont you think you could let us be excited about one little thing without bringing up how awesome HP is and how stupid Disney is for passing it up? Maybe you guys are right and Disney wont ever do anything cooler than HP. Or maybe they'll wake up one day and wow the pants off everyone.

I guess I dont see wristbands as the thing that will stop that from happening. Do you?

i have to agree with you completely !

And im gonna just throw in that i personally never liked HP lol so i'm happy they didnt use that.....

and everyone is talkin about what disney IS NOT doing and what they DIDN'T done
BUTTTTTTT what about the NEW FANTASYLAND !!!!!!!
Don't they get any cudo's for that? I think that they are trying and it is just like everything else in life = you can't please everyone !
And really Disney can't just stay the same, they have to change with the times. People get older and new things cone and go. You can't expect everything to sit still and not evolve.

But again i say, I THINK THESE WRISTBANDS ARE A GREAT IDEA ! THEY ADD TO THE CONVENIENCE OF PLANNING, THE PARKS, PHOTOPASS, THE DDP, RESORT ROOMS & "MAGIC" !
AND I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY DO WITH THE "NEXT-GEN" TECH !!!
