Hello guys!
We've been thinking a lot about how we're going to pay for things whilst in the US - and I have a couple of questions about charging purchases to your room.
Firstly
I do regularly set up a room tab when we stay away, and I use my debit card to do this, however everything I've read about the KTTW Card always mentions "credit cards".
What is the process for arranging charging to your room? I assume you provide card details, but does it have to be a credit card? Or could it be a debit card, providing it's a mastercard or a visa?
Neither me nor my partner currently have a credit card, and neither of us particularly want one, however we could get one if needed.
Secondly
We have five people in one room (two adults and three children). I've read that everyone in the room gets their own KTTW card, are room charging privileges assigned to the whole room (and every card) or could we only allow certain cards to charge purchases?
Or, could we allow all cards to charge to the room, but have separate invoices for each card? Oh gosh, that sounds complicated so I guess not!
Thirdly (and finally!)
How do you guys manage children's spending money? We don't really want to bring lots of cash and in the past we've used travellers cards (such as the Post Office one, or Thompsons). Do you guys find Gift Cards work well for children? Can we top them up as and when we want to, with whatever amount?
We want to encourage them to manage their own spending (with our supervision!), so ideally we'd like to avoid getting one travellers card with all of our spending money on it. My partner suggested getting three travellers cards (in our name) and topping them up with the same amount each so that the girls can track how much they're spending online.
Thanks guys!
