Kevin...Are You OK?

Kevin,

Glad to hear you are finally on the mend. There's nothing wrong with a nice peaceful weekend in the recliner.

Take care,

Sam!

Nope, not sharing this thread with dh..not going to do it. He is scheduled for his cataract surgery next week..poor guy is only 50. He does not need to know of these complications. But...I will be on the lookout since I now know what to watch for!!!
Keep improving Kevin!!!

Kevin - Best wishes for a speedy recovery! It's great that you've been commanded not to jump rope - always nice to have an excuse to avoid exercise.

And it will be nice, in the end, to have great vision without glasses. I depend heavily on contacts for now.

Again, get well soon!

Beth

Glad you're on the mend. Hopefully your eye doctor will remove the activity restrictions. We wouldn't want this to interfere with the double dutch tournament on the cruise.

Is that on secret deck 7? Before or after the yoga class? :confused3

Yikes! What an ordeal for you. It reminds me of that episode of King of Queens where Doug buys Carrie laser eye surgery for her Birthday and afterwards she can't see anything...what he didn't tell her was that he got the surgery cheap and used a coupon :lmao: You better check...with all the podcast cruises given away John might have slipped the doctor a coupon! That might explain things...

Seriously though, glad you're sight is improving and hope you have a speedy recovery. :goodvibes

Wow that's an ordeal...I am glad you are doing better now...

(mental note locate a lime green jump rope - good idea!)

Hi Kevin, I had cataract surgery on my right eye about 4 years ago, and I have a terrible halo effect whenever I look at lights - now that you've been through it, you know how bad it is when you've had surgery to correct a problem and it just gets worse. I've been back to my doctor several times and they can't seem to correct my vision. I'm glad you are on the mend. I'm hoping my eye will some day get corrected!

Kevin - you're amazing, after all you have been through. You still have the time and energy to keep track of all of us on the boards and to put "our" worries to rest - :goodvibes

How lucky your personal friends are to have a friend like you.

Looking forward to meeting you at the TSM party.

KEVIN -- Thank you so much for updating us. I hope you continue to feel better. Take it easy and get better. Watch some old seasons of the Amazing Race.

I'm with you goofy! my DH is having his done in December and he is the same age as your dh. My hubby's cataracts were made worse by surgery from a detached retina. But we are very confident with our doctor we know he will do an excellent job.

Kevin, Good for you for keeping the doctor informed of all your symptoms. Great descriptions of what you were seeing!! Get well soon!

To all those who are having surgery:

Beware of surgeons giving notes to ride Tower of Terror endlessly.

The cataract surgery is basically painless and fairly easy. It's a bit nerve wracking getting there, but the actual surgery is pretty easy as far as surgery goes.

It's easier than going to the dentist, in my opinion.

I have been very pleased with my DR. He's done a great job.

I dont believe any of this was his fault. It just happened.

My only complaint would be that I wish I had known that these things were a possibility. It would have made it all less scary.

Besides letting you all know that I'm ok.....I thought sharing my experience might make it easier for someone else.

Good luck to both of your DHs. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it all goes as well as my first.

So glad to hear you're doing better! Enjoy your down time.:goodvibes
