I sent an email to the Pod Squad today and got an auto response saying Kevin was unable to check email until further notice due to an unexpected illness. I sure hope it was related to your cataract suregery last week and you just forgot to turn off your auto reply on your email.

If not.....FEEL BETTER SOON!

OMG!! I hope you are ok Kevin..... sending best wishes for a speedy recovery. I just got over having the flu for a week, so I can feel your pain!

Amy

Kevin i hope your feeling better

Oh my....I just got the reaction you get when the phone rings after 11 pm.

Thoughts are with you Kevin......

Hi folks....

I have been laying low due to some complications with the 2nd eye.

I had to have cataract surgery on my right eye as the vision was awful. I had the surgey and healed like a dream. Bing Bang Boom and it was done.

Two weeks later, I had the left eye done. The cataract was not nearly as bad, but my eye DR had reccomended these very expensive multi-focal lenses.

I was told that this would pretty much be it. The cataracts would be gone and I should have awesome vision without glasses.

The right eye is exactly that......great vision....no need for glasses.

The left eye developed complications.

Apparantly, pressure built behind the eye and it made me very ill. Horrendous headache and well.....imagine a headache so bad, it leads to other things.

I went back and they performed a procedure which reduced the pressure and everything was supposed to be fine.

After a couple days, I can only describe it as having the vision in my left eye "fractured or shattered". I had double vision and fractured light. My vision was messed up.

I went back to the eye DR and after several tests, I was told that it was because of an astigmatism.I went carnival ape crazy and explained that I had had an astigmatism all my life and never had this problem.

the DR took another look and then realized what had happened. The lens, which look like the hurricane symbol on a weather map (a circle with little legs) had "sunset". This is the eye Dr's word. not me being poetic. It means the lens had dropped a bit and I was seeing out of the edge of the lens. Apparently, being so violently sick had done more damage that oripganlly thought.

This lead to an emergency second surgery on my left eye. The lens was repositioned and my vision is improving greatly.

I was told I should try and move my head as little as possible....and not to do things like jump rope. Once John regained his composure and stopped laughing, we were on our way.

I've been pretty quiet for the last few days. I dont want to do anything to disrupt this (*Y*#!@% lens. NO MORE EYE SURGERY......EVER!!!!!

To make this long story longer.....I'm doing ok.

Low key....quiet....watching a lot of TV....but really ok.

My vision is improving each day.

Thanks for worrying about me.

Love y'all.

Kevin

Thanks so much for posting Kevin! It all sounds awful, but so glad to hear you are doing better! Please, please continue to take it easy! You have to take care and let that eye fully heal. And then you'll be jumping rope again in no time! :goodvibes

Glad you are doing better Kevin! I'm out of the loop I guess because I didn't realize you were getting cataract surgery, I really do pay attention during the podcasts but this must have whizzed by me. :) Best wishes.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Kevin! :flower3:

I now know what i'm putting in your FE...you're so getting a jump rope! :rotfl:

Glad to hear you are on your way to recovery. What do you think...resting and relaxing over dinner...at say...T-Rex? :rolleyes1

Thanks for letting us know Kevin.

I have grown very attached to my imaginary ipod friends.

I don't think I have yet recovered from the post about Bob being ill.....

Eek, that sounds terrible. I hope you get better soon, Kevin.

Thanks for posting and letting us know you're okay. I, too, immediately thought of Bob when I got that e-mail. God bless!!

Kevin -

Wow, not moving much and watching TV all day? Sounds like an adult time out to me! Can I get one too??
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, glad you are on the mend! I bet those are some fashionable sunglasses!:cool2:

Kevin - So glad to hear you are feeling better now. I cannot even imagine what you had to go through. Take it easy and take good care of yourself. We are all looking forward to hearing from you this week (I assumed you are going to be doing the show since you said to act surprised... :) )

Hope your eye is better soon, Kevin! I'll bet you can't wait to start jumproping again! ;) Well, maybe John can jumprope for both of you for a while. :lmao: Well, maybe not, cause with Pete out, he's got to host the podcasts and that requires an awful lot of talking!! We wouldn't want John to be out of breath.

That really sucks about your second surgery Kevin. I hope you will be feeling better than normal in no time. :goodvibes Surgeries suck!! Thanks for letting everyone know your situation and that you're okay Get better soon.:wizard:
