Ketchup and butter honey boo boo

UMMM WOW . . . . what worries me is not the lack of nutritional value in this meal But in ALL of their meals . . . :worried:

Have any of you actually tried spaghetti with ketchup?

My mom used to make it for us when we were kids and we liked it.

I recently tried it again just to see how it would taste to me now as an adult and it was not too bad.

I wouldn't put the butter on spaghetti, plain or with ketchup. To me that sounds gross;)

Edited to add: No I am not some sort of a hillbilly.

Well considering I only eat ketchup on a hot dog or a burger no, I've never tried ketchup on my spaghetti. And I won't because I personally don't like ketchup all that much. :)
I do like butter on my pasta, butter and some Parmesan cheese, good stuff!
I'm not a hillbilly either. :) :goodvibes

My brother liked the ketchup on the meatballs. So the ketchup was out, I tried it on my buttered noodles and LOVED it. It's not much different than ketchup on your mac-n-cheese or the like.

FWIW, I still don't eat meat, but I use the gravy on buttered noodles now...with ketchup and peas mixed in. It's REALLY good..

There is very VERY little I will NOT put ketchup on, though. Nectar of the Gods..

ketchup on mac & cheese????? that ruins the cheesieness. LOL As you can see from my above response I don't like ketchup that much so I don't add it to stuff.
DBF's Uncle does though, he eats ketchup with his turkey and stuffing on Thanksgiving. :confused3 I don't get it but he loves it. LOL :)

I love buttered noodles, with parm cheese. My niece was over one day and asked for soy sauce on her buttered noodles. I was instantly grossed out at the thought and she said her mom give it to her like that and that is the way she likes it.

So I give her what she asked for and watch discretely in horror while she eats it. I did my best not to let her know I found her ingredient combo repulsive. She eats all she wants and has some left in the bowl, so what do I do? Of course I tasted it and guess what? It is delicious!

And for the record, I am not a hillbilly either.

Well, you do put soy sauce on low mein, not too much different than noodles, really. ALthough I don't know if I would try it. :goodvibes

I think parmesan cheese smells like stinky feet :crazy2: :rotfl2:

I would never ruin my macaroni and cheese with ketchup.

I'm not generally a big ketchup eater either. Hotdogs, hamburgers, french fries, not too much else.

But isn't it great that we can all eat whatever appeals to us? Some of it we might think is gross, others love :flower3:

Gross! My daughter was watching that show the other night and I walked into her room and saw part of it--omg, I can't believe that trash like that is actually even on TV- the whole family is like a train wreck and that "little" girl is obnoxious.

You can't even call that margerinr stuff butter. Yech.

However, once I thought about it, the ketchup probable makes it all taste a lot like Spaghetti-O's. So maybe not so so awful.

When I was in France, they ate ketchup and mayo mixed together on their pasta sauce. :crazy2: gross!! ...so, it's not just boo boo. It's an international phenomenon!

You guys are kidding right? A lot of people eat differently than you (general you) do and like it. I wont eat wild game but that doesn't mean others are crazy for eating it.

I would never ever eat horse meat, squirrel or opossum, but people do.

Now if I was starving, that might make a difference.

When I was pregnant I went through this tomato paste craving thing...

I put some on some pasta(plain) and it was too dry so I added some butter, salt, and pepper and it was DELICIOUS! :rotfl:It's still a go-to meal for me if I'm looking for something quick.

I know it's not exactly the same as the ketchup thing, but close.

I don't put ketchup on noodles, but I can't eat scrambled eggs without it!

LOL I'd eat soy sauce on my noodles. I mean I use it in stir fry and I use noodles for that so ya, that would be ok, but I'd want it with veggies and such. Soy sauce has a lot of sodium so I try not to over use it but I do like it on my stir fry. :)

haha parm does smell but I still love it! :) I don't even like ketchup with my fries, I'd rather have BBQ sauce. lol I always find it interesting to see what other people like to eat, for the longest time I didn't eat avocado, shrimp, crab, lobster, oysters, sushi....but now these are some of my favorite things. lol

Spaghetti-O's, you're probably right, that's a great thought, but I don't like those either. haha My kids do, DBF does, but I don't so I rarely buy them. haha

I love ketchup on my scrambled eggs!

Oh me too...I had forgotten to add scrambled eggs to my list of things I like with ketchup. That said, I also like to add hot sauce to the ketchup so my eggs have spicy ketchup. ;)

I watch a decent amount of reality tv but just cannot watch this! I saw the clip though - barf. Spaghetti sauce in a jar is not that expensive, with her couponing I know it'd be less than $1 and healthier than all that margarine.

My kids like buttered noodles w/or w/o cheese but ketchup...:faint: This show is going to create all kinds of issues for those poor kids. (not that they don't have issues already)

I certainly wouldn't serve it as a meal, but that was my favorite concoction as a kid when I was cooking for myself. At the time, I thought I invented the recipe!:)

Is that a dig at 7 year old's girls weight??:confused3:confused3

I think its interesting hearing everyone's family shortcuts for flavor ;-)

I am not big on ketchup- I use barbecue sauce for fries or burgers; it just has more flavor to me. I used to live in NY so one of my favorites at diners was getting fries and brown gravy... yum! Hot sauce on scrambled eggs

My 12 yr old LOVES A-1 sauce. She puts it on everything from hotdogs, hamburgers to her steamed rice and I even caught her dipping corn on the cob in it. But she eats a very well balanced meal- loves fruits and veggies so if she puts it on something that I would think DISGUSTING - I look the other way. But after reading all these comments I have to wonder what the other parents of her friends think? lol!
