Day 1

Yesterday was my first full day back on Atkins.

I started on these boards around Easter of last year. I started Atkins on May 21. I did really well. Switched to WW (I'm not sure why), had a terrible Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years/Valentine's Day/Easter. I think I've gained all 35 pounds that I lost! I'm not sure because I won't step on teh scale right now. I check in 2 weeks when I'm done with induction. I'm not fixing my clippie right now, I'll fix in in 2 weeks.

I have been lurking back on these boards for a week or so. I really enjoy reading up on old familair names and also enjoyed reading about new members. I really was inspired by The Firm thread. Last weekend I went out and bought BSS2. I haven't made it through an entire workout yet, but I have enjoyed them so far. But, BOY! are they hard. And I exercise alot!

So here's how yesterday went:
B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey wrapped around 2 slices of swiss cheese
and 1 cup of green beans
S: 1/2 an Arby's Ham & Swiss wrap (this wasn't planned, but I was out of town and had to drive home. I was starving and exhausted. I knew I needed something to boost my energy. It did the trick)
D: BS chicken breast, 1 cup green beans, 1 cup cucumbers & tomatoes

Exercise: none- rest day

:wave2: Welcome back.

If Atkins worked, I say go for it. You'll find all the support you need here. c Your looks pretty good. I checked out the Arby's site last night. Just a head's up those wraps are 17 & 18 carbs. You can order their regular sandwiches without the buns. Most are under 8 carbs. I'll keep an ey out for your journal.

Hi Kerri and Welcome to WISH Journaling!
I have been FIRMing for three + months now and I love it! The workouts are challenging, but they give you results. Just remember to take it slow in the beginning and make sure that you have proper form. I have both BSS1 and BSS2 and I have to say that I like the BSS2 ten times better than BSS1. I love all three videos, but I think that Complete Aerobics and Weight Training is my favorite. Emily is a great instructor!

WISHing you the best of success with the FIRM and with Atkins!

Tracy:wave2:

Thank you Strings and toystory for your support. That's what makes this site so wonderful.

Well, Day 2 in. No problems.

B: 2 fried eggs
L: the other 1/2 of an Arby's wrap from the night before (normally I wouldn't eat this on induction, but I had it left over and didn't think it would do too much harm)
S: hard boiled egg, 5 slices of pepperoni w/ mozzerella cheese
D: BS chicken breast, 1 c. broccoli, 1 c. cucumbers

Exercise: 15 minutes of FIRM maximum cardio blast (??I'm still not sure on these titles) This was my first time with this tape, so I only did 15 minutes. I think I'm going to like it though.

This is my tentative FIRM schedule. I would appreciate feedback from any of you FIRMies.

M: max. cardio
T: rest
W: max cardio
R: rest
F: max cardio
S:complete aerobics & total weight
S: complete aerobic & total weight

This is for a couple weeks until I get used to it and then I wanted to do Total Body Sculpt on T & R rather than rest days. I usually don't take rests days. I generally exercise every day. But these tapes are hard and I don't want to over do it and get turned off to them.

Day 3

Made it through another day. No headaches or sickness yet. Feeling pretty good. And definately feeling like I'm back on track.

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey rolled with 2 slices of swiss cheese
S: pepperoni and mushrooms picked out of a pizza casserole
D: BS chicken breast, 1 c. cucumbers, 1 c. green beans

Exercise: none, it was my rest day.

Congrats! You are right on track. I am doing WATP and Curves, but I plan on graduating to the FIRM by the end of the year. I will probably ask for it for christmas.:p Keep up the great work! If you keep the water going, you may avoid the headaches completely.

Have a great weekend.
Beth

Day 4

It was an EXCELLENT day. It was one of those days when I felt so powerful and IN CONTROL!!! I haven't felt that in months. It started when I got up early to exercise. I was able to complete a whole FIRM workout for the first time (it only took me a week). I did Maximum Cardio Burn. I didn't do the standing legs or abs yet though. I had hoped to maybe do them in the evening. All day I felt so energetic! When I got home from work, the weather was so beautiful. I picked up my DDs (6 & 3) and we went to the playground for an hour. This served 2 purposes: they were able to enjoy the weather and it kept me out of the house and stopped me from picking before dinner. During dinner my oldest DD said "There's an arts festival at my school tonight. Can we go?" I never have energy for anything on Fridays, but I was able to say YES! And within 15 minutes we just up and went. Honestly, when I get home on Friday I don't even like to get up out of my chair. We were out doing stuff until 7:30! I wasn't even tired when it was time to go to bed.

It makes me wonder why I ever got off track in the first place. I know I feel so good when I exercise and eat right. And I feel so crappy when I don't. Common sense should keep me on the right path.

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey wrapped with 2 slices of swiss cheese
D: 1 dozen hot wings and a chef's salad with FF Italian dressing

Exercise: FIRM Maximum Cardio Burn.

Today is feeling good so far too! I hope I have a good post tomorrow!

Day 5

Still feeling great!

B: 2 egg cheese omlet
L: Arby's Supreme Philly Beef with no bun, 4 cheese sticks with the coating removed. (not the healthiest lunch, but I was on the road)
D: baked fish, salad w FF Italian dressing, 1 c. green beans
S: 8 slices of pepperoni w/ swiss cheese & chip dip

I was a little disappointed that I had a snack because I wasn't hungry and I'm trying to not eat before bed.

Exercise: FIRM CA&WT the entire aerobic section (but not the chest or abs sections)

I feel that I had too much cheese today, but it is a weekend which is my hardest time. And I'm just so proud that I didn't "blow it"!

I can't wait to weigh in. Only a week and a half to go!

Day 5

A beautiful day weather-wise, but I didn't really get out to enjoy it too much. That's OK, just seeing the sunshine lifted my spirits!

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 steak-ums fried with onions & mushroom, topped with swiss cheese, 1 c. green beans
D: cube steak, twice baked cauliflour, sugar snap peas, salad w/ FF Italian dressing
S: no real snack, but I did eat several slices of bacon as I made the cauliflour

Exercise: FIRM CA& WT the whole way through (chest & abs for the first time!)

Wow Kerri,

You're doing an entire Firm tape after 1 week. You're my hero! Keep it up and you'll be at goal in no time.
:smooth:
Beth

Day 7!! I made it a whole week.

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey wrapped with 2 slices of swiss cheese
D: baked fish, 1 c. brussel sprouts, tossed salad with FF Italian
S: 2 slices of deli turkey with swiss cheese

Again, I'm disapponted with the snack. My goal for week 2 is to cut out the snack. I forgot to mention yesterday that I made brownies with chocolate chip and peanut butter frosting for my DDs bake sale. I did not even lick the spoon! It wasn't easy though.

Exercise: Maximum Cardio Burn , outdoor walk ~ 2.5 miles

Day 8

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices deli turkey with 2 slices of swiss cheese
S: 1 slice deli chicken w/ swiss cheese
D: omlet with cheese, onions, green peppers, mushrooms & deli turkey, 1. cup brussel sprouts

Exercise: none- it was my rest day. I didn't think I would need rest days and I did it reluctantly at first. But yesterday my body told me that I needed a rest day. I wasn't super sore or anything, just needed a rest

I was really proud that I did not snack after supper. I made my husband take our DDs & I out for a ride. That kept me busy for an hour and kept me out of the refrigerator!

Hi Kerri!

I noticed you have started a journal and I just had to come and read about your progress. Let me just say that you are rockin' girlie!!!::yes::

I am so impressed with your determination and positive attitude! What in inspiration you are to me.

Don't you just love the FIRM work outs? I liked how you said you have increased energy for activities on Friday night. I feel the same way. I used to come home from work and just crash. Friday nights were always the worst. Now I've got loads of energy to do whatever I need to get done.

I too hate to take rest days. I've decided to do BSS1 ab sculpt and just follow the beginner moves on my 1 rest day per week. We'll see how my body likes that. You are so right to rest if you feel your body is asking for it. We don't want to over exert ourselves and then not be able to FIRM at all!

I'll be checking up on you from time to time to see how you are doing. Keep up the fantastic work and remember we are all here to support you! I know you will be a success story!!!! :)

Day 9

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey wrapped with 2 slices of swiss cheese
D: 2 cheeseburgers (no bun), brussel sprouts, tossed salad w FF Italian

:bounce: please notice NO SNACK!!!:Pinkbounc That was my crowing accomplishment for the day.

Exercise: I got up ans started FIRM Maximum Cardio, but my DD 3 woke up about 6 minutes into my workout. She wanted to be on the couch. Since it was 4:30 AM I knew I couldn't keep the lights on an exercise or she'd stay awake. So I was disappointed, but I had to stop after 6 minutes.

To make up for it, when I got home I went to the standing legs portion and ab portion of the Maximum Cardio. I did those for the first time. I just have to say that it was 12 minutes of HE**!! But I was so proud of myself when I fininshed. But truly, it was torture.

Today is Day 10, but I'm going out of town right after work so I won't be able to post tomorrow.

B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey wrapped with swiss cheese

Anticipated Dinner: McDonald's Grilled Chicken Salad, then later at the hotel a cheeseburger patty & broccoli.

Exercise: It is a rest day.

Days 11,12,13

I thought I'd get to post this weekend, but it was crazy here. Rather than list all my food, I'll just say that I stayed on plan all weekend.

I didn't exercise on Friday. I had to take my team to the state Science Olympiad competiton. We had to be on teh bus at 6:00 AM and we didn't get home until 11:30 PM. It was a long day!

Saturday I did FIRM CA & TW the entire way through. And I finally added weights! They were only 2 lbs. and I could have used more, but I'm really trying not to overdo it. Saturday might was my DDs dance recital (they are 6 and 4 and looked so cute). That was also a long night. The recital started at 7:00 PM and didn't finish until after 10.

Then on Sunday I had to teach Sunday school. There was a 2nd dance recital from 2:00 Pm until after 5:00. So I didn't get in any exercise Sun.

Today I got up with every intention of doing Maximum Cardio. I got up at 4:30, had my workout clothes on adn even went downstairs. But I just couldn't do it. This weekend was exhausting. I'll do it for sure tomorrow morning. I'll try to get in some type of FIRM workout tonight.

I'm feeling really good right now. My first weigh in isw tomorrow morning. Right now I'm excited, but that number tomorrow could throw me off track. I'll try to not be obsessed. Every few days I'm fitting into something that I couldn't fit into a few days before. I still have a way to go. And I'm disappointed that I'm losing weight that I had already lost in the fall, but all I can do now is keep trying. It doesn't help to give up.

Finally, my BIL is having a 40th b-day party Sat. I was planning on doing really good and was formulating a plan of what I could eat. Then I realized that in the past I have been able to do very well at parties and get togethers, but I always end up binging within a day or two after. I think I feel deprived. So I decided that I am going to eat what I want at the party. My breakfast and lunch will be OP. The party's not until 4:00. My big challenge is getting right back on track the very next meal. I really think I can do it!

Hi Kerri!
Boy, you had a very busy weekend! Whew! I'm tired just reading about it.:faint: That is wonderful that you were able to stay OP! Great job!!!:Pinkbounc

Congratulations on getting through CA&WT! That is a very tough video. Like you, I had every intention of working out today, but I woke up feeling pretty tired and decided that tomorrow morning would be a better choice for exercise. As a matter of fact, CA&WT is on my schedule for tomorrow.:teeth:

Good luck with weigh-in tomorrow! Have a great Monday!

Tracy:wave2:

Kerri, you sound so excited and motivated! Your menus look great and your FIRM workouts will help you immensely!

Have you taken your measurements? On Atkins, it's so common to have the scale stay the same when the inches are melting off and then your measurements will stay the same while the scale numbers go down. Those measurements can get you through when the scale says you aren't losing!

Best wishes for a happy visit with the scale tomorrow!

I didn't get to journal yesterday, so I'll do a two day journal today.

Monday
B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey with swiss cheese & brussel sprouts
D: 2 Italian sausage links & roasted peppers, zucchini, yellow squash and mushrooms

Exercise: I didn't have the will power to exercise in the morning, but I'm so proud because I went straight home after work and did FIRM Maximum Cardio.

Tuesday
B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey with swiss cheese and roasted peppers, zucchini & yellow squash
D: broiled fish & brussel sprouts & a pork chop while I was cooking

Exercise: rest day

Tuesday was my first official WI. I was hoping for 148, but I was 150. I was still really happy with that. Because I hadn't WI in a while I'm not sure how much a lost in those 2 weeks. But I started WISH at 165. So now I have to change my 30 lb clippie to 15 lb. But I feel OK because I'm on track again

I'm making cookies for my BIL surprise B-day party on Saturday. This will be a challenge, but I can do it. Yestreday I made 4 different kinds of cookies. I didn't even lick my fingers!!!

I've been so busy, I keep missing days. But here goes...

Wed:
B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey with swiss cheese, green beans
D: broiled fish, roasted peppers, zucchini & yellow squash

Exercise: FIRM Maximum Cardio

Thurs:
B: 2 fried eggs
L: 2 slices of deli turkey w/ swiss cheese, green beans
D: BBQ chicken breast, cauliflower with cheese sauce

Exercise: rest day

Friday
B: 2 fried eggs
L: BBQ chicken breast, cauliflower w/ cheese sauce
D: (will be) the insides of an Italian Hoagie and hopefully I'll find a vegetable or a salad to eat. I'll be eating on the road tonight.

Exercise: FIRM Maximum Cardio

I still have not taken even a nibble of a cookie! Tomorrow night I will have a "cheat dinner" though. I am weighing in tomorrow and hope to be at 148. I was 150 on Tuesday. I know that is asking for alot, but a girl can dream, right?

My mother noticed that I an losing weight again today. She told me I looked really good. I feel really good today. I'm fitting into more clothes. That always lifts my mood. There is nothing worse than having no jeans that fit and wearing sweatpants around the house for 3 weeks straight!
