Kennedy ulcers (bed sore.) Anyone familiar with them?

I am so sorry you are going through this. :grouphug: My dad passed away right after a move to a Hospice house from the hospital (they settled him in the bed, and then he took his last breath - I hadn’t even made it to his room yet) so I understand the concerns about moving your dad. I hope his transition is a peaceful and pain free one, and that your memories comfort you in the days ahead. We are here for you.

I am so so sorry. Is there any way hospice can get him an air mattress?

The hospice nurse just called me and said that she believes that he is entering the final stages of life and they are increasing his Morphine and taking him off the Norco. He will be getting all liquid morhpine. He is in a great deal of pain and she did say that he does have a Kennedy ulcer. It could be a matter of days before he passes and he would not likely survive the move to skilled nursing. Even transporting him would be physically and emotionally traumatizing. Thank you for all of your help and prayers.
I'm sending prayers for a peaceful transition for your father. This is not to be insensitive to you because I know how hard it to lose a parent, especially after you have had them for so long. Hopefully, the straight morphine will take his pain away. I'll pray for strength for you and your family, as well. 💕🙏

I'm sorry OP, that's hard.

**Edited because I posted before reading the entire thread.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending virtual hugs. When my grandmother was in hospice, we were called just before she died and I was able to make it there as her heart stopped beating.

So many hugs  😢 :grouphug: 😢

Hospice was wonderful with my mom, so I'm glad to see they're involved. My thoughts are with you.

My dad passed away this morning. 😢
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear that and I wish you and your family well in a difficult time. I know with my grandfather, while we were all horribly sad, there was also a sense of relief that he was no longer in pain. I hope you can take some solace in that.
