Kelly&Adrian 09/22/10- SBP/The Attic/HDDR/UK - Nominated for Best Dressed Attendants!

They look terrific! What a great idea!

I'm so excited for you to go...and come back so we can read about it! :rotfl2:

NOOOOO - no talking of me coming back yet!! LOL

I'm bringing my laptop so it's more than likely you'll hear from me while I'm there anyways...

7 days till the big trip starts!!

I picked up my dress, have my suitcase half packed, printed off our itinerary, dinner reservations, and the 100 lists I felt the need to bring with me...I am SO ready for this trip.

I'm not exactly your typical Canadian girl...I don't drink...lol So instead of a drunken rowdy bachelorette party, all of the girls are going out to a really nice dinner tomorrow night...cannot wait!!

Tomorrow I also have my "pre-trip" hair appointment.

OMG I cannot believe it's this close.

One week from today we'll be getting married I can't believe my ticker is at the 1 week mark! 3 days from now we'll be leaving for WDW! YAY!

Now for the bad news....I went to bed last night with a scratchy throat...I NEVER get sick so I better not be now! For some reason Disney Trips seems to bring on the sickness for me though, last year when I went with my mom I had the worst sore throat for a couple of days, and then it mysteriously went away...ugh. I took Echinacea last night and again this morning, I'm really hoping to keep any sickness at bay...

You're flying Westjet right? One of the reasons we're flying them is because they were super fantastic when I asked about their wedding dress policy! Hopefully the people that are actually working ON the plane are as super!

(the other reason is because DF is seriously scared of flying now and refuses to take a commuter plane out of here...which every other airline flies! He actually wanted to drive. I told him if we drove to Florida we'd end up not speaking to each other by the time we got there and not getting married!)

I live in Halifax, NS and will be getting married Jan. 4/11. We will be leaving on Dec. 25 but we do drive it. It's not a bad drive, this will be our 4th year doing it. We flew the first one. Usually there is my daughter (13) driving with us but she decided to fly with my family on the 29th of Dec. So I will be taking my dress along with the girls in the wedding and my mothers. I see a lot of people stressing about how they will be taking the dress down.

I am so excited for you. I have been reading your story. I was able to get through the first of it but since I am at work I will have to do a bit at a time. So thought I would skip to the last page to see what was going on before you take off. I leave in 3 months and have never done a PJ. I thought about it. Maybe I will.

My fingers are crossed that you do not come down with anything. Just relax and rest so that you are all fixed by the time you leave. I can't wait to hear more as your days lead up to your departure. :car:

by the way, that's french for "of the day" - :rotfl:

Photo Possibilities
I spent all yesterday obsessing about the "extras" you can add on....I have always been slightly obsessed with TTD shoots, especially at the Water Parks...however luckily Amy crushed my hopes on that one yesterday....you can't have a TTD water park shoot at Typhhon Lagoon while the Wave Pool is running....and to me that's the money shot. So I think that one is back on the back burner.

I AM however slightly obsessed with a MK shoot now...I mean - when else can you be in MK all by yourselves, and have your pics taken in so many great spots in your wedding gear??? The downside of course, is the fact that it's $1100....as well as the fact that it's at the freaking crack of dawn! i am far from a morning person (and also don't consider myself overly photogenic) so paying the extra kind of scares me....I know what day I'd do it on, the Saturday after the wedding, but not sure if I can "go there"...

The thing that I am starting to think (about all of these extra details) is "will I truly regret not doing this?" - but this can be a slippery slope...that's how I talked myself into the confetti cannons!! And my budget if FAR from unlimited!

Sigh...at least I have time to figure some of this out....maybe once I see how much the floral and DP are going to add up to it will make more sense...

Im not sure if you decided on the MK photo shoot but I also wanted this but was not in my budget. (DF is great with budget's and if we can't pay for it before leaving we don't do it). After speaking with the coordinator she said that since we were married at Disney if we decided to go back another time we can do a shoot in MK with or without the dress. So maybe you can save up and next time have it done. Again not sure what you decided or what info you found after this post. Thought I would throw my 2 cents in.

Wow - small world - I cannot believe there are 2 others from Halifax getting married at Disney who also post here....funny I always felt like Halifax was kind of a "small town".

I did decide on the MK shoot...keep reading, lots has changed from the start!!!

Congrats on your wedding!!

SPOILER ALERT - for those of you attending the wedding you may not want to read this, as it is the ceremony I am submitting to Reverand Day....it may ruin it for you to read it ahead....

Although that being said I have read it many times and it hasn't ruined it for me :)

Introduction
To the family and friends of Kelly and Adrian, I welcome you here today on this most joyous occasion in order that you may share with them the pledging of their everlasting love and commitment to each other….their wedding day.

They particularly wanted to invite you here because the growth of their love is connected to this place. It has given them a feeling of timelessness and peace, and a sense of the wonder of life.

Presentation of the Bride and Groom

Main Body
The mood of this wedding is one of joy, festivity, and well being. You are here to celebrate your wonderful good fortune and the inevitability of it all, how wonderful it is that you two found each other and how delightful it feels to love one another as much as you do.

Love really is something over which we have no control. We can need it, wish for it, long for it, but all on our own, we cannot insist it into being. Therefore when love finds us, when the person we simply cannot live without crosses our path, it is truly a gift, and the wedding that celebrates this star-fated match is indeed the happiest of occasions.

Love is a miraculous gift and a wedding a celebration of that magic, and that is what we are here for today. We are gathered together, family and friends, to be overjoyed for and with Kelly and Adrian, who are so wonderfully suited to one another, that is pure delight for the rest of us to see just how happy two people can be.

A good marriage is dependant upon many factors, but the first prerequisite is a strong bond of love, friendship, and respect for one another. Your love will grow deeper with the passing of each day, but the genuine liking of each other, the willingness to accept each other’s strong and weak points with understanding and respect will be a very important part of this union.

The Art of Marriage by Wilferd A. Peterson
A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon.
It should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other,
not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo
or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.

Vows
And so it is, the two of you, Kelly and Adrian, have come here today with your family and friends, the people you most cherish, to signify your desire to be united in marriage.

I ask that you face each other and join hands:

Adrian, please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Adrian, choose you, Kelly, to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and to support you in all that you strive to be. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

Do you Adrian, promise to always love, hold, and adore Kelly, in good times and in bad. To enjoy her, console her, delight her and astound her. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and to maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to her always, and to die with this love that you have for her?

Adrian: I do

Kelly please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Kelly, choose you, Adrian, to be my husband. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and to support you in all that you strive to be. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

Do you Kelly, promise to always love, hold, and adore Adrian, in good times and in bad. To enjoy him, console him, delight him and astound him. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and to maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to him always, and to die with this love that you have for him?

Kelly: I do.

Exchange of Rings
“May I have the rings please?”
The wedding ring is an unbroken circle which symbolizes unending and everlasting love, and is a visible symbol which represents your inner commitment to one another. May your lives together, Kelly and Adrian, be blessed with everlasting happiness.

Adrian, will you place this ring on Kelly’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

Kelly, will you place this ring on Adrian’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

Sand Ceremony
Love is the eternal force of life. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. But although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately. To symbolize the importance of the individuals within the marriage and the joining of two live into one entity, 2 colors of sand will now be layered together. This symbolizes that the marriage is based on the strength of the individuals.
(Groom pours some of his sand in, followed by bride pouring about the same amount)
And now we combine the colors, which symbolizes two lives joined as one together forever. May your lives together be longer than the time it would take to separate these individual grains of sand.
Play music (A whole new world), Bride and Groom put sand into large vase so that the colors combine until their jars are empty.

Conclusion
Kelly and Adrian go into the world and fulfill your lives. Hold fast to your ideals, and give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love that you have for one another, now sealed in marriage, continue to deepen and flourish so that your lives together may be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration.

Adrian, you may kiss your beautiful wife.

Family and friends, it is with great pleasure I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Blenus.

We have Rev. Jack Day also. I chose him because I liked his name haha. I know weird way to do it but some I couldn't even pronounce. And after speaking with him I knew it was a great choice. Such a pleasant man. And we have some similar vows.

I received your other post about MK shoot. Im glad you decided to go for it. They are beautiful pictures there. I didn't push for that as I did the Cinderella's carriage. But paying that amount of money just wasn't fesible. Plus the DF said if we get that then were going to get married in it. haha :rolleyes1

I am shocked also at the amount of Nova Scotian's are getting married. It's exciting. Disney makes me happy and I can never understand why others could not feel the same. I still get the question of "your going back". We booked for Feb. as the Canada Games are here and my daughter is out of school, so this saves on taking her out as we usually go the beginning of Dec.

Ok enough of me..im back to reading the rest of your story. Hmmm wonder when I should get to work.

Hoping you feel completely better by the time you leave!! I've been following your PJ from the beginning and can't wait to see pictures. Have a magical trip and a fabulous wedding!

I'm so excited - your username just reminded me - we decided to add on 50 more points to our BLT contract this trip :) YAY

Wow - I am such a lucky girl! My work peeps threw me a surprise shower over video conference today!! I work in a different office than the rest of my team, so they were all on video, and the team from Halifax (my office) was in the conference room with cake, balloons, cards, gifts, etc....it was such an amazing surprise, I truly would never have suspected it. They booked a fake meeting and everything...I thought we were meeting to discuss our Leave of Absence Policy! LOL What an amazing day.

I have now added zinc lozenges to the Echinacea, and am going to try something heavier if I don't feel better by tomorrow. My mom is super sick so I hope I don't end up the same....I also hope she feels better soon!!

I'm doing my "pre-trip laundry" tonight, and then I can pack tomorrow, so all I have left is to buy books and trashy magazines on Friday and get this vacation started!! WOOT!

I have gotten through all the posts since this morning. You have changed quite a bit but in the end it is what you wanted. :thumbsup2

I just read that you work at the Maritime Centre, I am actually at the IWK. Very exciting to know that you are close.

I was just wondering about the marriage license. We will be picking up ours on Dec. 27th as we are driving down. I seen that you said that Rev. Jack would then take it and do what he does..but do we have to do anything once we get back?

As for your rings I LOVE THEM. I showed DF and he loved them to. We thought of doing something like that.

As for your newsletter, that was a great idea. DF loved that also.

I am so excited for you and can't wait to read more updates as you start your journey.

Happy packing!!!

I just played softball in the IWK tournament a few weeks ago - small world indeed!

I don't think you need to anything when you get back - I think they just mail you your official "You are Married" certificate (not sure what that's called)...

Thoughtful people are the best. You co-workers sound like the best. Happy packing. You are so close now. Are you going to be posting from Florida at all?

Speaking of thoughtful people - your earrings literally felt like they completed everything for me, so thanks so much! I was wondering if you were still around here or had just disappeared after your wedding!!

I'm bringing my laptop with me so will definitely post when I can...not attempting a live trip report or anything but will see what I can do :)

Congrats to your daughter!

DVC was the best move I've ever made....besides agreeing to marry Adrian of course :)

If you and your mother are not well, I HIGHLY recommend taking large doses of Vitamin D. Don't hesitated to double or triple the dose when not feeling well. Vit. D is instrumental to the immune system. I imagine since you live so far north, that your body may not be creating enough Vit. D for you and needs some assistance.

We take Vit. D every day, and if we feel something coming on we increase the dose, and it always knocks it right out. And we live in Florida!

I can't wait to hear how wonderful everything turns out for you.:lovestruc
