After coming home from Disney this year i was really annoyed with the amount of people that sit on the curb (NSSHP).and keep places for the rest of their family
I believe if you want a spot you should sit in it..Why should the rest of the party turn up just before the parade begins when other families have sat for over an hour! and people like myself desperately trying to find a place but all the blank places i see i am told NO i am keeping this spot!!.. People are putting ponchos spread across the pavement, even rod bars!..Its not their spot unless its sat in!!!!Its no different from putting towels down on sunbeds then disappearing for the next hour...I think this should be controlled at Disney as its ruining others experience...

I saw reports that they've started "cracking down" on this at Disneyland. Maybe WDW will be next?

Doesn't ruin my experience. I don't do it but if others do it I couldn't care less. I'm not going to let other people's bad behavior affect my holiday.

Line jumpers don't bother me, making multiple ADRs on the same night don't bother me. Just ain't gonna let other people's poor character get in my way of having a good time. As long as it isn't physically or verbally dangerous or abusive I'm not gonna let it ruin my day, sorry. I'm on vacation!

When my kids were younger we would use these things as learning experiences instead of obstacles to a fun day at the park.

I understand what you mean. I was waiting for the Festival of fantasy parade in the hot sun and people in front of me had huge golf umbrellas opened in front of me to hold spaces and kept hitting me in the face with them. I then had someone come up to me to ask that they be taken down. I had to tell them I'm not with them!

.......Yes , i was yelled at by a screaming women saying i moved her ponchos and get out of her place!...it really spoilt the evening and my Grand daughter wanted to go home

my friend will save my spot so that I can use the bathroom and I will save her spot so that she can walk around some. we are both back enough that people around us know it is our spot and 30-45 minutes before whatever is going on

I really cannot begin to care if a mom is holding the spot for her family while the dad is walking the little ones around. Or if dad needs a break and sits saving some spots while the rest of the family is enjoying themselves. If the whole family were there, the same number of spots would be taken, why does it matter?

.......Sorry i do not agree with this, once you leave your spot is gone!!
Everyone is desperately looking for a spot and its not fair that you should not endure the heat and the cramped legs like others and still sit at the front!

Then I would never be able to see anything as I have a to use the bathroom a lot how is this fair. No one has ever had a problem with it. Be very glad you do not have to use the bathroom often and urgently as it sucks big time and ruins my life at times.

But, my thought would be then you should have been desperately searching for that spot before the person who got there to save the spot. Someone in the party sacrificed to sit there all that time & save the spot. You were free to devote the same amount of time to finding & saving a spot.

So if someone from your party has to run to the bathroom 15 minutes before the show starts, is that spot now up for grabs? What's the time limit when you can no longer leave your spot but must be cemented into the ground before the show?

I take it you are also against someone from a group saving seats at a table while the others go stand in line to order food?

.....Sorry i dont agree with that statement .there is no saving,if you want a place you should sit in it!...I know that sounds harsh for people with toddlers that find it hard to sit and equally for older people like myself that has cramp after about 15 minutes but that is how it has to be to be fair..

I think there is a big difference in saving a spot that someone has already been in, but has temporarily vacated to hit a bathroom or grab a drink, and the one person saving a dozen spots for hours for people who are off riding attractions and haven’t set eyes on Main Street since they entered the park that morning. It’s the same principle as line cutters. If a parent has to take a child for a quick potty break (especially when the lines are more than an hour long) I have no trouble letting them back in, but when one person enters the line alone, only to have a dozen of their closest friends try to join just before boarding, then I have an issue.

I also agree that if the perfect parade spot is important to you, then you need to sacrifice the time to make it happen. I once waited 4 hours sitting on the curb to get photos of MSEP during its final season. No one was sitting anywhere that early, but it was important to me to find the right spot so I made sure I was early enough to get it.

.......yes it is up for grabs ,its no different from moving a parked car, someone will take that spot

Life isn't fair though...

If you have special needs Disney is there to help you, otherwise half the people sat are probably wanting a loo break but holding on

if your party is all adults (or at least older kids and adults), this seems like common sense. BUT, i'm taking 11 kids on our next trip. 6 of them are 6 or under. We will try to stay in our spots an hour ahead of the show (not the parade, the night time show) but i'm sure some of them will need to go to the bathroom. or go get a drink. or something. it's too hard to keep little children in one spot with no entertainment for an hour.

if someone is maintaining the spot the whole time, i don't mind if people have to come and go. The only thing that bothers me is when people show up at the last minute and try to barge in without having been there at all before.
