Heya,
I was just wondering, do any of you keep a diary? Because I've always tried to keep one but it never seems to work!! But now it's the new year (well almost!!) I wanna try really hard to write in a diary regularly...this probably sounds totally weird but how do u keep a diary!? I mean are you suppose to write in it daily, how much are you suppose to write, how much detail are you suppose to go into things? Ahh these are probably really, really dumb questions but hey lol!!
So any advice?
Anyone keep a diary?

I used to keep a journal. It wasn't technically a diary because even though I didn't like people reading it, it wasn't too personal. I wrote down some things that happened during the day and that sort of thing. I kept it knowing it would be fun to read one day when I was older and it was fun reading it!

Now, I wrote in mine daily for about a year. But then I stopped writing in it when things got more busy for me. It is totally up to you regarding those things...like how often you write in it for example. It's your book; you're the author :)

Now I just keep a writing journal that I have had for over a year now. I keep my creative writing in it.

Nope.
Not patient enough to write every once and a while.
It's like twice a year xD

I used to keep a diary in 6th grade. (2 years ago) It was honestly a diary. It was personal. I wrote about everything; what happened during that day, thoughts I had, worries and fears, secrets. . etc. I left off that diary on a really happy note.

You can write whatever you want. From what you wore and ate to that glance you saw that guy give you.

Some of my entries were from a page to five pages, depending on how much detail I wanted to go into.

I used to write in a diary journal thing, but I stopped because this month is really busy for me. I guess it really just depends on you and how much you want to write.

I have kept a journal (which is really a diary, but we had to call it a journal so the boys in the class wouldn't revolt) since 6th grade (2 years ago) when my Language Arts teacher gave us all the assignment. Here is my advice: get a small (but not too small) notebook and take it with you everywhere--school, the mall.... to Walt Disney World.... and write whenever someting comes to you. You'll be suprised how quickly the pages fill up!

Good luck!

:tinker:

Yup, I do. I don't write in it every day, just when some exciting or important happens or when there's something I can't tell anyone else, I write it in there. So I would pretty much die if someone read it, lmao.

i sometimes do. like if im really mad, i write my feelings down in a book. or if i am really excited, i write my feelings down in a book. i dont keep one regulary but i might start one that i update everyday in the future.:)

I keep a journal, but it's more like a writing journal. Since ideas often hit me in the middle of the night, I sleep with a journal on my bedside table.

I think it is a great thing to have -- I mean writing is a form of expression and by writing what you know, like, want, feel, etc, can help keep you ticking! lol. I, personally, loved looking back at my story journal I kept when I was in 5-6 grade. Had some serious laughs over it.

It was also kinda weird to read who my friends used to be, what I liked, the things I found fun and interesting -- it is SOOO weird how much things actually change, and I mean, you really CAN'T know how much you have changed unless you have something like a journal to prove it to you. :)

I used to keep a journal. Until I realized that my life didn't need to be written down, instead I'll just type it out to everyone else. :p

Oh my gosh its so much fun. I always look back and think, "Gosh I was stupid."

Eh, I sorta have a journal. It's kinda just a.. black and white journal. Y'know, the highlights and the pitfalls, not much of the 'just OK' days. I have a pretty book it's written in, but I often forget to write in it, and just post to my livejournal instead. Then every few months, I copy down the livejournal posts into my paper journal. xD

I used to keep a notebook I'd write my thoughts in.
Which, I still do... But I never write in it as much as I used to.
And as for writing about my day, I use Xanga.. but, I never really post on that either.
I don't find my life interesting enough to write about it, really.

Yeah....I have had it since.....oh lord...umm....'03 or '04. I write around 2 times a month. I don't go into extravagent detal on some things but, I make it so in the future, I can look back and remember everything. Even now I go back on my old entries and think, Thank you lord for getting me through what I thought was SOOO dramatic at the time...It doesn't seem that way anymore, though, ha ha. Guess I've learned allot since then. :upsidedow

I keep a journal, except not in book format. I keep it on a usb flash drive, because I got sick of my sister finding it, and well gave up on hiding it, so I keep it on a usb flash drive.
