Just wanted to know how many people have used the new Economy parking at the airport? For $5 a day. I got an email today the Thrifty also has parking (off site) at the airport for $5 a day and offer calet parking.....has anyone used this service?

I've used the $5/day economy parking at KCI and it worked well for me. There were plenty of spaces available, it was well lit which was important because I was alone at night, shuttles were readily available and it was cheap!

We have used both. The economy parking is good, much better than it used to be. It is well lit and spaces are plentiful. I have never had to park too far from a stop. The Thrifty parking has one advantage. Valet. However, I feel obligated to tip so that brings the cost up (not a lot but some). We would not hesitate to park in either location again.

thanks bntlyclg89, we've never 'parked' at the airport long-time.....typically we have a family member drop us and pick us up when we go on vacation, but this year we think it just may be easier to just park and pay. I've used the circle parking, for business travel, being a young woman traveling alone sometimes flying back late at night, my boss always recommends the closest possible parking, even if we're talking a week, thanks goodness............but I refuse to pay $20/day for 12 days out of my pocket, 240 vs. 60..........I'd much rather use the extra 180 on other things.

I will feel more comfortable about using the Economy parking now, thanks.
